Last weekend I ordered a new 13" MBA for the wife with the following specs:

MacBook Air, 13-inch

Part Number: Z0ME

With the following configuration:

1.8GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
256GB flash storage
Keyboard (British) & User's Guide (English)
Accessory Kit

It was finally dispatched today so hopefully will get it before its delivery date of 4th November.

Got a 27" iMac coming for me also ;)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

so I just ordered my first Air...had a 13"pro but decided to sell it and order myself an Air. I ordered yesterday and it shipped this morning with a scheduled delivery date of Nov. 3.

Now I see this thread and see there is apparently different SSD suppliers and screen suppliers? Is on truly better than the other and is there a way to find out which I got without the Air?

Got my 11" 4GB/128GB MBA at Best Buy as an open box. Had the "additional $100 off" coupon so I got it for $912.99 before tax.

It replaces a 2010 11" model (out for sale now on CL), which replaced a Revision "A" MBA (original 13" model).

It compliments the mid-2010 17" MBP and my 2007 model iMac on my desk.

I've had my new 11" 4GB/128GB MBA for about a month now. I love it. It is replacing a mid-2010 13" MBP (which I've since sold). The main reason I wanted the Air is because I go to school at night, and the MBP, while small, was still bulky to carry and use on a desk for notes.
The 11" Air is a dream. When it's at home, I have it docked to an HP monitor, which I hope to upgrade to the Thunderbolt Display. I bring it to work with me for meeting note taking, and presentations more in the month I've had it than I did in the 18 months that I had the MBP. It's just so easy to bring with me.
The only software that I've install on it so far is Office 2011 and Xcode. I'm using Word for note taking, but are there more "lecture note friendly" programs for college?

I got my 2010 MBA 11.6" Ultimate (4GB, 128SSD, 1.6GHz) yesterday. :D

First Mac... and won't be my last.. I am already very impressed with this machine. Holy, it's fast! I bought it off eBay, still has 6 months of warranty (getting AppleCare soon though), only had 40 battery cycles, and you can't even tell it was pre-owned. Previous owner barely used this thing... and I only paid 780.00 for it, so I am pretty happy with my purchase. Plus, I am in Canada, so a refurb Ultimate would've cost 1049.00 before taxes, (over 1200.00 taxes in!!), so I am fine losing 6 months of warranty for over 400.00 savings.

My MintCase is in the mail, should be here next week too...

Apple has claimed yet another victim.. bye bye PC. :apple:

The 11" has been flirting with me for the last couple of weeks.

I cannot wait to marry it soon. <3

Hello!

I bought my first Mac a few days ago. Picked up the 13" Air with 256 Gb disk. This is replacing my old 2.4 Ghz i3 laptop.

I am very impressed so far. The performance of this system with the SSD is excellent and love the screen too.

Now, to find a decent case...

Well, yesterday I went to the Apple shop and picked up a 13" i5 256GB MacBook Air. The stupid women tried to get me to get the 128GB as she said I wouldn't use 256... Then tried to get me to get Pages instead of word she was just blagging head.

Must say it has been my best purchase. Cost me £1200 with 3 year Apple Care, I love it it's so quick and just everything I can ask for! Replacing my 4/5 year old dell XPS M1330. What a joke of a laptop.

First Post from a new user

Received yesterday afternoon from Amazon a 13" 1.7Ghz i5 4GB 256SSD and I am loving it. I have been around IT for my entire civilian career (Since the early 80's) and have keyboard time as a Administrator on just about every thing you can imagine (MF, *NIX, WinTel, AS400, etc) and to say this is the best computing experience I have ever had would be a gross understatement. I purchased a iPad 1 last year and was very impressed by the interface of iOS, but the Macbook Air is simply awesome. Looking at iMacs now for my primary desktop in a work from home environment.

Cheers

Brian

I Did It, I Ordered A Macbook Air!!

I finally broke down and ordered a 13.3 MBA 1.7 4GB 256SSD (2011).
My 10yr old Dell Laptop is on it's very last leg...lol
I can't wait to get the MBA.
I am sure I will have a learning curve as I have been a Windows user for a long time.. Is there anything else I need to get with it? I need to get a wireless printer -any recommendations? I just need a decent printer nothing special.. I have an older model wireless router (Linksys), do I need another one? Thanks!

Congrats!

You are gonna love it.

I just sold my 1.4Ghz / 2GB / 64GB today for $750 and purchased the 1.6Ghz / 4GB / 128GB for $800.

I thought it was worth the $50 upgrade. :)

Drool. I'm on the hairy edge of ordering the same, eager to replace a 7yr old Sony ultraportable which is crawling over broken glass refusing to die (fan quit two years ago, 0.5GB RAM, 50GB storage, hardware features expired long ago).

Am baffled by these value-retention upgrade stories. HTH did someone figure half the mem & storage was worth saving $50? Glad they do, but wow...

Congrats - I've had my 128 gb 13" since September and have really enjoyed using it. Makes my 07 mbp seem like an overweight tank. Just got a co-worker to get a 13" ultimate. He's been a long-time pc user and has been having some issues un-learning his old bad habits. He blames learning the new OS, but he was blown away by just how fast it is - which is part of the problem with getting used to working on the Mac.

Congrats. I guess you already have an iOS device and if you do, you will now see the full benefits of the Apple ecosystem. Particularly if your iOS device is an iPhone

Enjoy it, and read/watch the videos on the Apple website that explain some of the basic commands in Mac OS X.

Also, something you might enjoy once you get it is just searching on google "cool things you can do it on Mac OS X"; trust me, some of them are actually very helpful. For example, pressing ctrl+alt+cmd+8 inverts all the screen colours (i.e. white changes to black, etc); this is surprisingly useful when reading forums at night, as all the bright, white borders turn to a black which is much easier on the eyes!
