Saw MacConnection was back in stock so I just ordered a base 2011 13" MBA for $1249 less 3% with free shipping and no tax. I was planning to wait until Christmas but justified it that the 13" base will be harder to find discounted over the holidays since it's constantly going out of stock. I hate paying for freight so free ground freight it is but the waiting game begins :(

I got mine on Tuesday! I ordered from the Apple store on Thursday night, and the shipping tracker indicated that the delivery would be on Thursday (Sept 15th). The MBA started from Shenzhen, CN, and was with me on Tuesday morning. That was fast! :) VERY impressed by this beautiful machine.

Picked up my "new to me" Air last night. 11.6", 1.6 GHz, 4 gigs ram, and 128 gig ssd. Not a scratch on her because my friend is very OCD about his gadgets:)

Hi All

First off, sold my "base" 2010 11.6" MBA on CL for just a few bucks less than I paid for it in April.

Today bought a 2011 128GB 11.6" from good ole MacMall. No tax, but didnt bounce for the expedited shipping either so hopefully it will be here sometime next week.

I just bought an open box base i5 11" at Best Buy. I got over $250 off of the device. I'll be mainly using this at school for notes as I have a 27" iMac already.

My fully-loaded cheese and bacon MacBook Air (11"/i7/4gb/256gb) is still in Köln according to UPS (been there for 24 hours). I can't wait, it's going to be a monster. :D I'm hoping it'll be here Wednesday (although tomorrow would be very nice!)

.. waiting ..

Ordered my shiny new Macbook Air 13 128GB i5 from the States. Most places were oos but Adorama had a 'couple' left and luckily grabbed one. Just hope it has the faster SSD.

A friend is bringing it back from the States after his travels so should be with me this weekend after my Half Marathon. I can't wait.

Had a second hand original Macbook Air 1.1 with Blit keyboard from early this year until a few weeks ago and I really found it very very nice (did get sizzling hot though).

This should be more 'the Business'. I have been using PCs for yonky donks although I did have a Mac in mid Eighties for College which was a godsend for doing engineering drawings on.

Anyway looking for extended warranty from somewhere.

Can't wait to see it :D

Just ordered the 13 inch MBA base model to catch the b2S 100 gift card offer to replace the Rev. A air. The only problem is that this is for my wife and I really want one for myself.:(

Is it normal, delivery in 14 days for the MBA? I thought not more than a week, because the store page said ready for delivery in 3 days.

After 4 days I got a status update that they received my money. Now its in process, but not packed for delivery. I think I might get my MBA in 2 or 3 weeks from China. I thought they might have some MBAs in stock in Germany, but I don't think so. My iMac came a week earlier, hopefully the MBA too.

My experience was rather positive. From the factory in China on Thursday, to my hands in NY, the next Tuesday morning. Not too shabby.

SOOO HAPPY. Like a little school girl.

Hi all,

I've been trolling/creeping these forums for a while now, trying to consolidate certain people's opinions and experiences on the new Air and whether or not I should pull the trigger.

Well I did. And it's awesome.

I got the 13", i7, 256gb, as well as Apple Care - roughly 2 grand. Let me just say that this machine not only meets my expectations of a portable computer, but exceeds them by many.

To all who still on the fence deciding between 11 vs 13, i7 vs i5, let me share the past 2 weeks of my experience with you so you all can gain some insight.

I'm a Law student, so my computing needs are basically web-browsing, email, documents, videos, etc - the bare minimum really.

In each of these regards, I was surprised how I could start every single one of my apps, with each seamlessly opening without ANY lag - that SSD is just ridiculous.

I suppose i "lucked" out and got a double Samsung display/SSD, although a friend of mine who has LG/Toshiba compared our machines together, and the result as something that is unequivocally incomprehensible to the human eye.

Battery life has been great - I average 6.5 hours daily (web browsing, multiple apps, flash video clips, email, note taking)

The quality of this machine is unparalleled. I can't wait until the Ivy Bridge Air comes out, even perhaps with a redesign, because that would one epic machine.

Anyways, if anyone has any questions that you think I could answer, please fire away, as I'm trying to give back to the community that I learned so much from.

Thanks!

Talu
