i placed an order for my macbook air 13/8gb on friday from bhphoto. it says the item is a 'preorder' item. does anyone know how long it might take for them to ship it out? im guessing they have to custom order it because of the extra ram.

Got a mid-2012 base 13" today and loving it.
It's much lighter and slimmer than the 13" MBP that I used to use and the boot time with the SSD is incredible.

Finally put in an order for mine yesterday, "downgrading" from a mid-2010 MBP 15".

Still processing, but with any luck it'll get here by the 20th as I'm leaving on a trip. It's the custom i7 2.0/8/256 configuration so hopefully they don't drag their feet getting it assembled. Expedited shipping ftw (I hope)!

Okay, so I'm impressed: it arrived this morning.

Arrival on the 3rd business day after ordering for a customized machine is damn cool. Thanks, Apple

Just got the new Macbook Air 13.3 from Best Buy. They had it for $1100 which was a really good price.

Getting used to OS X. It's different, but I am a long time Ubuntu user so it's not that difficult.

Got my i7/8GB/256GB yesterday. Thing is a beauty. It has the Samsung screen and SSD.

I love it, but will be subjecting it to some testing over the next week to see if it holds up. My only concerns so far are the crazy heat/fans when playing Minecraft (looks like I'll stick to my iMac for that!) and that the colour looks horrible on my HDTV when I connect it via Mini-Display Port to HDMI.

I ordered mine last Saturday but it is still processing.
I called Apple yesterday to ask why it has not been shipped. That person just told me wait and it'll arrive at least by next Wednesday.
Really want to get this toy so bad that I've been obsessed with checking my Email for the shipping notification and tracking.
I just can't wait!

I just ordered the 13" MBA i5/8GB/256GB SSD with AppleCare. The MBA will be replacing my Early 2011 base 13" MBP. Before deciding on the MBA, I was researching on other Ultrabooks from HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Sony. All of these laptops were very close to the price of the MBA and I couldn't see myself purchasing any Windows Ultrabooks, because I generally don't like Windows and had a lot of issues with my Windows pcs before I switched to mac last year.
