Last laptop I owned was a Dell Inspiron 9300 that was like 8 pounds heavy. My new 2012 13'' is just crazy nice. I suppose that any laptop would've felt like a dream though.

I ordered the 13" 1.8ghz i5 8gb/128ssd. It's my first macbook that's replacing my Asus netbook I've been using for 2 years. Should be delivered next Thursday. Sucks that midterm and school work next week is partly killing the excitement lol. My friend found out I wanted a macbook and he was flaming me about why he hates the macbook and the cost. Saying I could've got a beefed up Windows laptop for the price. He doesn't even have a good laptop to prove to me. Then his gf who has a cmbp but doesn't know about computers was telling me why I'm getting an air and said it's a waste of money that I didn't get the cmbp. I've done my research and not a person to argue with them. I was really annoyed but I'll just let the haters hate lol.

Yeah, people without knowledge will always hate. You made the right decision.

Just ordered:

13" Air
2.0Ghz Core i7 CPU
8GB RAM
256GB SSD

I waited for the 13" Retina to come out and waited for enough first hand impressions to come in before I decided to go with another Air. TOO many anecdotal evidence stating the 13" rMBP is just not quite up to snuff with regards UI responsiveness etc. I LOVE the form factor of my previous 13" 2010 Core 2 Duo Air. So I think this new one will be a great replacement.

Didn't want to start a new thread so thought I'd ask here:

Been looking around for a good deal on an MBA and may have found a base 11" 2012 for $775 BNIB. Ideally I'd like a 13" for better battery life, but haven't been able to find one under $850 (my budget). Is there any chance the 13" model will hit anywhere near that price point around Black Friday (either new or refurbed), or should I just pull the trigger on the 11"?

Mine has finally shipped ordered the 24th :D

Macbook Air 13" 2.0 / 8GB Ram upgrades used education discount on the laptop. Estimated delivery date Nov 06.

Quick question what branded hard drives are the 256GB models?
Also the screen

Currently have a macbook Pro Retina 2.7/16GB Ram/ 512GB have a samsung screen & samsung hard drive which has been brilliant.

Ordered a refurb 13" MBA - 1.8 i5, 4Gb RAM with 128Gb SSD late on Monday afternoon from the Apple web site.

Tuesday morning, a 13" Macbook Air arrived, but with 8Gb RAM!!! :) SWEET!

(And I was so impressed with the speed of delivery when I hadn't even requested express before I profiled the machine)

Well, my fully loaded 11" MBA has shipped, but apparently South Korea is on the way from China to the UK. Anyone know where else my laptop will visit on its world tour before it gets to me?

That's pretty normal. Most time it ships from China to Korea and so on.

Just ordered a MBA 13"

Just wanted to let everyone know. I'm stoked!

13", 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM, 2.0 i7 CPU!!!

I was holding out for a 13" retina. But without discrete graphics, I don't see the point. The MBA does everything and more than I need it too. (Light hd video/some RAW photo). Mostly programming an internetz. My 2007 iMac still does everything I need so the MBA will be great.

Can't wait to pick it up!

Well, at the moment it's about 15hrs since the 'departure scan' from Korea with no update - is this normal?

I'm also a bit annoyed with Apple, as they said that as soon as it has shipped, I could call up and arrange to pick it up from a depot, as I might not be at home when it arrives - now they tell me it is impossible without having a 'failed' delivery first. I'm not keen on the delay, the computer bouncing around in the back of a van for a day, or possibly having been lied to in order to get me to place the order.

It's gonna be alright.. maybe because they have high volume of iPhone 5s to process.. just chill and wait
