Sold my late-2010 13" MBP and bought a Mid-2011 13" MBA with warranty until next May just 2 days later! Apple products are seriously as addicting as sex  I can be just sitting in front of the MBA not doing anything but gaze at this beautiful work of art (even though it's not retina) and feel satisfied... This is seriously legal pr0n

What's really disturbing is that I totally understand and agree... You realize we need a support group!

Just got mine in the mail today. Ordered it early morning on the 5th and got it today, the 8th. 2012 11.6" i7 8g 128gb. Love it, custom only took a lot less time that I had expected. I also paid for the speedy shipping so maybe that had something to do with it.

Just pulled the trigger on a 13" i5/8GB/256GB from MacMall for $1532. Went with the i5 to avoid fan noise as much as possible. I may upgrade to the 13" rMBP once it has been out for a while and proven to be reliable. Should be here tomorrow. First Mac :). Have been a Windows user all the way back since 3.0!

Mine arrived last week... 2012 13" 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 8GB and 128GB SSD.

It's primary use will be surfing the net at home but I also got it for a bit of photo editing whilst on sports photography road trips.

13 inch Macbook Air 2.0 Ghz, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD

Long time lurker, first time poster here. On Saturday, I bought an open-box 2012 13-inch Macbook Air base model with 128 GB SSD from Best Buy for $990. Today, I look on Apple.com Refurb Store and see a 13" 2.0 Ghz, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD for $1400. I bought it, and even though it wasn't expected to be delivered until the 23rd, I just checked and it's already been shipped and should be delivered tomorrow. :)

Looks like its back to Best Buy to return this MBA. I would of kept it but after adding my iTunes Library, Logic, iLife, Office 2011, etc. I only have 20GB of free space and I haven't even added my Virtual Machines yet. So the 256 GB should work out perfectly.

Plus after some moderate usage I started paging out only about 120 MB, so the extra 4 GBs of RAM should smooth that over. Also, this model has the LG screen with the Toshiba SSD  Maybe, I'll get lucky and get the Samsung panel and SSD. The i7 processor is just the icing on the cake.

My 1 month old 11" Air

Is basically the best computer I have ever owned. Ever.

The 11" screen is big enough to do anything. I do photoshop, work on documents. Everything. I just upgraded the RAM to 8GB and that's it. It's just the 128 i5. Have over 80GB free space after installing everything I need.

Anyone interested in getting one but is not sure, ask me and I'll answer.

And for all the speculation about "the air is only to surf the web". Out of all my laptops, and I had one with a dedicated video card and a core i5 540m (same CPU as the 2010 15" Pro), this little Air runs Photoshop CS6 faster than any other laptop I've ever had.

You don't need that my man.

First of all, maybe because of the new SSD controllers, when you benchmarks the Samsung SSD and the Toshiba SSD there is no difference. That's no longer an issue. I have the Toshiba here and I don't think there's anything faster than instant. From a cold boot, photoshop CS6 open in maybe about 3 seconds.

As far as the screens. I have an LG screen also. All you do is put the correct color profile and it looks identical to the Samsung screen.

Switching from the correct color profile vs the profile that came with the computer I can see a HUGE difference. Like it was washed out before. I took these with my camera. You can see what I mean.

Built in color profile

It's more obvious in person.

I can see the difference between the two. Where do you find the corrected color profile that you used?

The Samsung/Toshiba SSD doesn't really bother me, it was more about capacity to me then the brand. Although the Toshiba SSD uses a re-branded Sandforce controller which handles compressed data worse than Samsungs controller.

I have everything loaded up now and I still have 117 GBs free as opposed to the 20 GB free when I had the 128G Toshiba.

Load up the profile here

Scroll down. That's the one I installed. When you install it change between the 2 and you'll see there's a HUGE difference between them. Looks like another screen.

Ordered my first MBA earlier today. I went for a refurb unit: 11", 2.0 GHz i7, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM. I'm really happy with it and I can't wait for it to turn up!

It's replacing my mid 2010 13" MBP which I've pretty much sold already. I was going to wait until next weeks event to see the MBP 13" Retina, but figured I don't need the power of the MBP anyway, so waiting around would be pointless. I needed a more portable unit for a new job where I'll be travelling a fair bit, so I thought I'd bite the bullet and treat myself now!

My purchase also came in around £200 less than it would have if I'd have bought brand new, and the unit is eligible for a free Mountain Lion upgrade, so overall I'm really happy!

Who loves their MBA? I DO!

I used to own a mac mini as a desktop. 3 years later, I got a MBA 13 inch and I am loving every single bit of it ever since I got it 2 months ago.

I am now using it as my main desktop PC, connected to an external Dell 24 inch monitor when I am at home and as a great portable notebook when I am at work or school. Never missed a beat.

Do I love my new MBA? Yes I do!!

Who else loves their MBA? Tell us why and show your love right here!

I had a 2011 Mac Mini and sold it after about 10 months, got the MBA in my signature. Never regretted this step. I use it as my Desktop and on the go of course. When I get bored of sitting at my desk I change to a different location and work from there - best choice I've ever made.

I have a 27inch iMac, a 15 inch mid 2010 MBP and I got a 11 MBA last week.

I LOVE my air :D

I loved my MBP too but for some reason the thing is stupidly slow now :( The battery has gone too. I should probably get apple to look at it because a mid 2010 MBP should not run as badly as this one is. I have only had it for a year and a half.

I love how fast and portable the MBA is compared to the mid 2010 MBP.

My iMac is beautiful but I only use that for photo editing.

Picked up the base model macbook air yesterday. Was looking for something small and lightweight to take with me on pentests. Since I have an portable external USB3 HDD I can't see the 64GB being much of an issue for me, most of my files are in the cloud anyway.
