Hello all. Just bought a second hand MBA 2011 model. My first MacBook after many years of putting up with windows. I hope it's good enough for word processing and basic iLife use. Didn't really fancy a mbp as that's probably a bit too over specced.
Can anyone point me to a decent case for it?

Wish me luck!

Ordered a 2013 11' MBA, the max model (512, 8 GB RAM i7). Giving my 2012 MBA to my mom. This is my first time buying a refurb. Fingers crossed there aren't any issues.

After buying and returning 13" rMBP twice because of the dreaded image retention issue, I went ahead and ordered a 13" MBA (i5/8GB/256GB), can't be bothered to deal with any of the issues associated with the retina display anymore.

Should be arriving in a week, waiting is the fun part.

Just ordered a new 13" i7 1.7 GHz / 8GB RAM / 512 SSD. Hoping it arrives this week.

I'm planning to start using it as my primary laptop. I have a maxed out 2011 17" MBP that is still a powerhouse, but I'm thinking I can extend it's life even more I switch to using it solely for After Effects and Premiere / FCPX use. It's starting to show some wear from constant travel.

Just bought my first macbook air 13 inch with 4gb ram and 128 gb . The device is amazing! Its very smooth and apps open instantaneously. The touch pad and keyboard is awesome. Build quality is excellent. I let it charge till 100% and started working and when it was down to 70% the battery indicator showed another 12 hours remaining! I have been using it at 60% brightness and its been on continuously for nearly 10 hours now and its still going strong

Very impressed indeed! I have a 2011 iMac 21 inch with 8 GB ram but the macbook air seems faster . Perhaps the SSD or is it just that I have installed two OS updates on top (Came with lion , then upgraded to mountain lion and then mavericks).

Just got my 13 inch Air tonight! After starting with the Air and briefly trying out the rMBP, I know the air is the one for me. Better keyboard, form factor and battery life. Loving it so far!

What's better about the Air's keyboard vs. the Retina? Never used a Retina MBP so I'm just wondering how it's keyboard is different.

Well actually I am typing on a rMBP keyboard right now(picked it up for my wife tonight) and the best way I can put it is the keyboard on the rMBP is more springy with more key travel. The Air keyboard is more shallow. Both are fantastic and the more I used the rMBP the harder it is to have a preference.

I think this is a luck of the draw thing. Apple uses multiple keyboard suppliers and they don't all have the same feel or key action.

2008 Macbook Pro replacement ordered

My trusty Macbook Pro (Late 2008) has served me well in my consulting business but was starting to cause me some issues so placed order yesterday for 2014 Macbook Air 13" i7/8GB/512GB.

Whilst my Macbook Pro was great I'm looking forward to the generational leap 6 years brings!

I got a refurbished 2013 MBA with 1.7, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and I'm loving it! I was hesitant to get a MBA d/t the fact that it has no Retina display, fewer USB ports and such, and no optical drive. However, so far it hasn't been an issue. I did get the Apple SuperDrive and it works just fine when I need it.

I love how snappy it is with OS X Mavericks compared to my 2009 MBP. Definitely recommend!

I've had my top spec 13" for nearly a year and I still get excited every time I open it. You'll love it!:D

I think the rPros have the same two USB 3.0 ports as the newer Airs. They do of course have two Thunderbolt 2 ports that the Airs do not.

First Mac

I just bought my first ever Mac, 13" MBA base model, I'm loving it so far. I have always been an apple hater and after making the switch to the iPhone in the fall I have been loving all of Apple's products ever since, the macbook was the last piece of my apple ecosystem puzzle, and its much smoother than any windows pc I've ever used
