My MBA 16gb/1tb/SG changed to Preparing to ship this morning. I then got a text from DPD saying it's being delivered tomorrow. Apple then emailed me saying its coming Monday 🤷♂️
Still waiting on preparing.....
interestingly my order says “by Saturday delivery” so I’m hoping for it to be despatched tomorrow!

Just purchased a Silver Geek Squad certified base M1 MBA for $779. Crazy that Best Buy is selling them so low, sort of wondering if they will cancel my order and say oops we entered the wrong price. I am switching from an M1 Mini. I have been using minis for years and my current one is just a couple months old but I have decided to start doing some astrophotography and need something portable for real time imaging and stacking.
I am a little concerned about the 2 ports, I have a 4K displayport monitor and I see a lot of dongles that have Displayport and everything else under the sun (USB, Ethernet, charging...). Anyone use one of these? Has anyone used these? Are there any performance problems having so much running through one port?
I have a Thunderbolt 3 external hard drive that I would like to run through the other TB port that has my photos/videos, etc, but if it is going to mess up my display, I will look at separating between the two ports.

Well mine lasted 3 days. TouchID failed and after talking with support, they’ve shipped me a replacement (another 2 week wait). Disappointed as I was loving the speed of this thing.
Hopefully parallels will have an M1 Win10 environment running soon too

Ordered a silver 512 GB 8 core GPU yesterday. It'll replace my mid 2014 MBP. Delivers Mar 19 - Mar 26. Now its hurry up and wait.
Ordered a base model in Gold on 2/23/21, estimated Delivery between 3/3 and 3/10, status moved from Processing to Preparing to Ship today and the charge has been welcomed back to my credit card balance with open arms. I gave up my MBP last year for a IPP 11 inch with a MK and Apple Pencil 2, but have a need for a real computer again. Looking forward to getting this new M1, though slightly worried about the Gold color, seems a bit pink, hoping it’s not too rose-y. I have nothing against pink, just really like gold lol.
Just ordered a base M1 MBA, my first new Mac laptop since a 2013 MBA. Apparently delivering between 16-23 March. Any other customers in the UK found their orders arrived earlier/later than the estimate?
I received mine in gold two days ago and really like it. The color is kinda pinkish or rose/gold. I put a clear cover on mine but if you don't like the color you can always use a colored cover. The MBA is hard to hold without a case and wants to slip off my lap. A case really gives you a better grip.
I suggest getting it from Amazon UK, they are in stock and you get a small discount and the option to spread the cost interest free over 4 instalments. I got my 512 MBA in 24 hours.
Thanks but I used education discount so got £100 off. I was also considering using John Lewis as I have a £30 voucher, but figured I would really rather wait a couple of weeks instead of spending an extra £70 just to get it a bit sooner. Patience is a virtue
I am thinking about ordering the MBA M1/256 at Apple; but even with student discount it is way more expensive than in the US, Around € 1060 or 1269 USD given today's exchange rate. I need it for 6-12 months and want to sell it afterwards when the new 14" and 16" pro's are available. I've never had a MacBook Air before, what is the average drop in price when using it for about 6-12 months and then selling it? Do they keep value well from earlier experiences?
I got it! Had it since Monday, it's great! little glitchy but 95% amazing! I switched from a 2020 iPad Pro, so I still find myself opening the lid and then making sure my face is close enough to the screen, because I'm expecting Face ID to unlock lol. Speaking of the iPP, haven't touched it since I got the M1 MBA and I think that's great! The iPad I could and would pickup ALL the time! I don't do that so much with the MBA, so it really helps me turn off tech a lot better, which I think we all need on a regular basis. Anywho, LOVE THE NEW MBA M1, and since this post is more about shipping it arrived 2 days before the long end of the delivery days, was due between March 3 and 10th and it arrived on the 8th
I just bought my Silver MBA 8/512 M1. Does happy dance. Cannot wait to get home and set it up. Got it for 1150. New. Got a hundred knocked off because I was going to get the 8/256 MBP at BestBuy for 1150 called them and they told me they had 6 in stock. Got there and they claimed they sold them all. Got the manger. He said they sold them all in 20 mins. I said bs. So he offered the MBA with 8/512 for the same cost. I said ok. I am not a power user so I think I did good.

Hey its a Mac. My neighbor had the same spec and it served them well. A few tips, make sure it is fully updated first, then get rid of any apps, you do not plan on using to free up space, then add what apps you want and need. Restart and you are good. Keep it "clean" of old files, and such. It should serve you well. It is not a powerhouse high end machine but it will do daily tasks just fine. enjoy it.
Picked up a space grey MBA (8/512) on Sunday. Downloading 4000 photos to iPhoto went wicked fast. Not so much downloading from an SD card to the photos library. It took 6 minutes to dl 1151 photos from my SD card. It hung up some when using the Neural Filters in PS. I did not get this as my main driver but I hope the new version of Adobe works better. I bought it cause there are things the iPad cannot do well but I'm kind of test driving it. Rather than upgrading my 2018 IPP, this seemed like a good choice tho maybe I need to upgrade the RAM........
Well, arrived yesterday, so almost at the earliest estimate.
Love it already. Particularly impressed with the keyboard - my girlfriend has a 2019 MBA and the keyboard is one of the worst things I've ever seen Apple put out. She's already decided to sell it and get an M1
