My 10/16/1 just spontaneously spawned in Louisville, KY.. no china tracking data at all.. just the origin scan in Louisville..
Hoping mine is part of that shipment.

My MBA FINALLY showed up Friday, I haven't had time to get it set up until today. It shipped FedEx and took 5 days to arrive at my local depot, then another 2 days for Fedex to hold it because 'it wasn't due for delivery.' But it's here now and it's everything I thought it would be. Comically enough, it's the same thickness as my 2016 MBP 15" Touch Bar. This is my first 13" laptop and I'm still deciding if it's actually big enough for my liking. I wanted it for portability, which it is absolutely perfect for! Thankfully, I really love the new notched design, I just wish we could have face-ID on MacBooks.
Not really. The MacBook Air is .44 inches and the 2016 15" MacBook Pro is .61 inches. A pretty large difference.

My order of 8/16/512 from 07/22 now says shipping to store. Only pending charges on my card thus far, and no email updates or tracking (although I’m assuming tracking isn’t given for orders heading to stores). Original pickup date was 08/16 so I’m cautiously optimistic I’ll get it at least a few days early.

Okay, I should clarify, I don't mean *technically* the same size. But next to one another on my coffee table, they appear to be the same thickness. I can't really tell 17 hundredths of an inch difference in a practical sense. I just meant I enjoy both equally as far as form factors go.

My 8/16/512 midnight was just picked up in china by DHL, ordered 14 July and due 4-11 August (UK)

Mine has been 'Picked Up' by DHL (to UK) since.....last Wednesday 😲

Let me know if yours moves beyond 'Picked Up' soon.

Urgh….. not convinced it will be here by the 4th then. This has been one of the more troublesome Apple orders, I’ve been charged for the education gift card 3 times and I’ve been charged for the entire order twice so far 🙄

Woot, my Macbook Air M2 Midnight 8/10/16GB/2TB is preparing to ship! I'm all abord the hype train as it was originally saying it'll arrive between the 9th and 16th! Might see it sooner than I expected!

Got the "Today is the day..." text message from Apple. After magically being created in Louisville, KY my 10/16/1 Midnight is out for delivery. Weird, that I never saw in any China, Korea, Anchorage, etc tracking info. Just the *POOF*, it's in Louisville.

Overall, a pretty bad preorder experience for an order confirmation at 8:03 Jul 8. I won't do this again. I will just saunter into the Apple Store with the other slackers next time.

I've heard with DHL deliveries some move from "Picked Up" to "Arrived" (in your country), with nothing in-between, so I'm hoping mine is here Wednesday. Strangely when it first shipped last Wednesday, Apple claimed 4 August for delivery here by DHL, which is 10 days after pickup.

Order status now shows 08/10 as the pickup date! Gift card for the education store order has also been sent.

Sorry for the delay in updating:
After mechanical delays and some other confusion, my Midnight 10/16/512 was finally delivered on 7/28. I wasn't able to get it up and running until Saturday but am now typing this from it. So far I love it. Yes the color is a fingerprint magnet but don't care as it is mostly prominent on the lid and not the trackpad or the palmrest. The overall color is great to look at, and the color really does vary depending on the ambient light around it. As my favorite colors are of the darker blue shade, it's perfect.
The notch irritated me but with a free app called TopNotch I've now hidden it among a dark black menu bar so it isn't even noticeable anymore.
I've only done a couple batch RAW edits so far but it seems snappier than my M1 MBA which my wife is now happily tapping away on in the other room, and I haven't noticed any issues with heating or throttling either, nothing worse than the M1 anyway. While I still think it was silly of Apple to not include a heatsink like the one found in the M1 MBA, I don't think it's going to cause a huge impact on performance.
On a side note, I'm getting noticeably faster throughput on my external SSD compared to my M1, so it seems like Apple finally got the I/O bottleneck and compatibility issues present in the first gen fixed which is a relief. Having to worry about chipset compatibility when selecting external drives and enclosures was irritating.

Mine is still as follows on UPS Choice (Midnight 8/16/512):

View attachment 2037604
Same here except I got "Your package is in transit. We're updating plans to schedule your delivery. / The package will be forwarded to a UPS facility in the destination city" on July 31st. Not sure what's going on... but I heard people's MacBook Air showing up on Louisville out of nowhere. Could you contact UPS for more details and let us know? I can't contact them at the moment and I think this is mostly related to system error...

I assume mine will magically show up at Louisville as well. Up until Saturday UPS was saying mine would be delivered today between 11:45AM and 3:15PM CDT.
