Slim, I would say. Apple aren’t known for giving away RAM when they eke out some money from the customer for an upgrade…
Picked up a base Mac Mini M1 from amazon when they were 90 bucks off a couple weeks ago. This will be my return to mac since my Hackintosh (mainly the GPU) has reached the end of OS updates. I'll give it a go with FCPX and if I run into problems with my limited RAM, I'll pass it off to my wife or kids and buy something faster.
Wanted to wait for a couple of more months to see if they dropped the M2 mini, but my computer died. Had no choice but to get a new one. Decided on an M1 256GB storage and 16GB RAM. I will attach an external drive for more storage.

I just ordered a Mac mini M1 16 Gb 2TB. I shall receive it from 16th to 18th of August. Maybe it will arrive earlier.
I went ahead and ordered a 16gb, 512gb m1 mini. I was going to wait for the M2 but after seeing what the MacBook Air did with the m2, subsequent price rise and the fact that recent leaks showed no redesign I just grabbed the m1.
Prices are going to rise just like they did for the m2 MBA and the M2 isn't worth waiting for, especially for more money.

Same, I couldn't wait and ordered one last week, too. There is some movement, I wonder if it is coming today.
It’s great. I’m waiting for my speakers, TV & TV furniture as I will use it as a media centre (qBitorrent & Roon for the music).
I like mine it is a very versatile little machine. It runs super cool, is speedy and an be used in a variety of situations. I have mine connected to my 65 inch LG OLED and it works great as a media server. Perhaps a bit overkill for that but I was running a very old I3 and I was having issues at times with 4k HDR on the network, especially if I had to transcode.
The nice thing about the mini is you can attach it to a computer and make a ghetto Mac, attach it to the tv, leave it in a media closet and remote into it etc. Its small enough to be put anywhere. Very cool design.
I ordered a new Mac mini M1, this time a 512 Gb. It's for my parent as a media center to replace a Mac mini 2014 that is sooooooooo slow.

I am trying to predict how many days it take between ordering and receiving the mini. The one I ordered last month took 9 days, so let's see how long this one would take.

Looks like I’m good on my prediction. After 9 days, there see,s to be some movement on my order. This one feels longer than waiting than the previous order. It will be used at my parents place on a Rotel RA-12 with a Topping DAC d10s & KEF Q700.
Same as the previous one but for my parents. It’s for playing music on my old speakers (KEF Q700 & Rotel RA-12 and a Topping d10s DAC), download TV shows & watch them on a Panasonic OLED TV with Apple 4K & Infuse Pro. I’ll go back there tomorrow and I will take a picture.

Hi everybody! After the news about the new Macs delayed to March 2023, I bought the M1 with 256GB, it's my first experience with the Mac Mini, until now only iMacs and MacBooks have been on my desk here at home.
It's so amazing, with a LG 32" 4K monitor, Logitech keyboard and mouse so I can share them with my work Windows PC, it's perfect. Really happy with it, now I can wait for the M2, but, no hurry.

IMO, it's not worth it if you already have M1, not that much of a difference. May be M3 will show bigger leap. I'm glad too that I bought Mini M1 BTW.
I also have the Mac Mini M1, totally amazing, fast, silent and cool, I don't care if the M2, M3, M4 come out next year, I am sticking with this for a few years, its incredible.
