My credit card was just charged for what appears to be the full amount of the machine and apple care. *Fingers crossed* that it will ship soon.

Edit: Now preparing for shipment. :D

Ordered a base model today from Sweetwater.com (great music store). Free shipping and no tax for me, and they had a few in-stock. Mine shipped tonight. Currently on backorder again though.

If this is the case, then your reseller already had it on order from the 19th. Unless, you can show us that the order went to apple on Thursday and it is now shipping.

The reseller is too small to purchase such an expensive item without having a customer for it.

Understood. Just for some clarity, did you mean last Thursday or dec 19th (Thursday)? All resellers around my area have the purchasing power to have many stock configs in stock. Feel free to show us some proof that they ordered directly from apple. If this is the case, maybe CTOs are now shipping sooner than later.

As you can see i sent the purchase request to the store on Dec19.

Shipped this afternoon!!! Huzzah!!!

To bad B&H never gave me my proper Apple order #, unless they do all I'm gonna see is "Shipped UPS Ground" for a week. I honestly don't even care, it's coming, that's all that matters, I get to finish ****, finally.

Right-on man!! Congrats!!

Congrats, but I can't help but be angry that you (and others) who ordered hours after those who were on the website refreshing it until it became available is receiving their machine well before.

It's possible that business services get first priority. At least that's my guess. (and some others people's)

I've only seen one other 12-core (USA) ship so far and it was to CA. Thus far BTO shipments to NY have been almost nothing so I was really surprised to see it ship today.

Edit:
Actually now that I think about it, it's probably just because it's B&H. Like Tekserve apple likes them as preferred retailers, so they tend to get dibs. Although unlike Tekserve, B&H isn't a pile of dog-**** surviving on the legacy that it's long since thrown away.

Wait, so, I ordered my BTO from Apple on the day of release and it's not shipping until February, yet you ordered yours from a reseller and it shipped yesterday? Thursday morning when? The 19th of December?

Sorry, i mean dec 19th.

We feel your pain - things could be worse

Any day now - how was your service when ordering Apple devices from China - was it faster than USA?

(My nMP must have liked it in Jackson, MS - it spent 1/2 a day there)

My CC has been charged now.

(yes...I'm quoting myself)

Apparently it does't matter that my CC has now been charged by B&H. I called them to get an Apple order # assuming they would have it since they have now charged me for the equipment, but the guy said they don't have one and it's generally 4-6 weeks for orders (in general) to process. That doesn't sound quite right to me (the charging me already part).

Just got my shipment notification. Going out today via fedex (thank god not ups), expected delivery Monday (1/20).

Oh well *&^^%#$&^%&^%&^% !!!

The fricking spreadsheet is filling out above AND below my entry.

How the hell has mine not shipped !?!!

This is really starting to suck !

Haha. The spreadsheet has very little value other than to show that there is no pattern to shipping. Education orders, business orders and regular orders have shipped, so I can't see that any type of order is getting priority. Machines covering the full range of spec options have shipped, so no shortage of particular components as far as I can see.

No pattern is right!

Might as well sleep in next time. LOL

Congratulations! How does it feel?!

Feels pretty good in one respect, I can stop refreshing both my credit card page and apple's order page. Of course, now I'm cursing the fact it shipped on a Friday so I won't have it the weekend to set up and mess with.

In another respect there's now a new significant charge on the card ;)

I still find it confusing as to what their order is for fulfillment. I see 2 others with fully loaded configs placed before mine. I would have hoped they got fulfilled earlier, or at least at the same time. Oh well. Hopefully theirs will go out today at least.

Exactly my thoughts too.

The only reason I can now think of for Apple not shipping in order is that they've learnt over the years that more people who order a product in the first few hours of launch do so on an impulse basis having been caught up in the hype and end up returning the item, and so it's better for a spread of customers to be given a bit more time to change their minds. However, while I can see this argument having some merit on an iPad launch, it's difficult to see many people impulse buying the nMP! Anyway, I've no data to support this - just a wild guess as to why it's random.

Edit: Shipping in a random order might also help deal with scalpers who in the past will have placed a large orders immediately after the store opens. But again, I can't imagine all that many scalpers dealing with the nMP. Be interesting to see whether February shipments are just as random.
