I just checked B & H has 6 Core / D500 / 16 GB / 256 GB

** IN STOCK ** right now.

Unfortunately, because they are closed on Friday and Saturday, you can't order until sundown, Saturday night.

thanks. again, hasn't been TOO hard to find stock configs available for immediate delivery.

unfortunately for me that 256GB internal drive is a deal-breaker. :(

I am now eagerly waiting for mine. For this nMP, I refurnished my study with oak furnitures. Here is a panorama of my study for the nMP.

I am right there with you (ordered at 12:42 PST).

I have had few bad experiences with Apple. However, this is the largest single amount I have spent on a single computer and easily the crappiest experience. Right now I have a very poor opinion of Apple customer service.

It's a fulfillment issue, not a customer service issue. Your "crappy experience" is waiting for it to ship? Really? Just be patient. You paid the same amount as everyone else for a premium, cutting edge product. Let's keep it all in perspective.

Thanks, Mike. I bought my current Mac Pro from Jigsaw back in 2007. I can't believe they've got stock while we're all waiting for CTO builds we ordered 38 days ago.

Jigsaw's Macs are 256GB SSD as I suppose the retailers have stock configs only but it all adds to the general levels of discontent we're all feeling at the moment waiting so long for our new toys.

Edit: Actually looking again, you might be correct about the 512GB SSD. The main heading on the page states 256GB but the specs further down the page have 512GB. Back in the day, Jigsaw carried whatever stock options were available at the time but that's some time ago now and looking at the other stock "coming soon" it does appear that they're going to have different configurations available than the stock versions offer.

he's still whining about this. he purchased an item that said 'ships by january'; we're still in january.

apple were honest, albeit vague, with the delivery estimate at the time of order. anyone could have chosen not to accept that and just not made the purchase.

if his order doesn't ship on thursday he's going to cancel (after waiting 6 weeks)...or so he says. that will REALLY show apple! :)

it's just not worth getting that worked up over.

wait, what?

THAT is the reason people hate americans? that one is news to me.

just a thought here, but isn't it possible that retailers placed large orders the moment they were available (and perhaps retail orders could be placed in advance of when the consumer ordering system became available)?

i see nothing wrong with this. retailers are big customers for apple, and perhaps many committed to large orders. some people have done quite well by purchasing from a retailer other than apple.

There are so many things wrong with this whole statement that I'm not going to do anything other than just point-out that you actually just said this.

Yes I was surprised by the fact they had any stock at all. To be honest if they'd had a 6-core even with 256GB I'd have gone for it and changed the drive myself. I'm in the February camp but I guess one month has already passed so may as well wait now.

Evening y'all.

Although we still have some way to go before all January orders are fulfilled, the spreadsheet is filling up quite nicely with completed orders. However, once we reach 1 February, it makes sense for the February orders to take the limelight and so around that date I'm going to move all fully completed December/January orders into a separate non-editable spreadsheet, which is otherwise shared in the same way as the current one. I'll keep January orders not delivered in the existing spreadsheet and move them across once complete. We'll then have a point of reference for December/January orders going forward which isn't vulnerable to accidental/intentional data loss and the February and March folks won't have to wade through rows of green to see where they are with their orders.

Hope everyone is ok with this.

I ordered on the 3rd Jan and was due for dispatching in Feb as are most people who ordered in Jan. I sort of hoped Apple might ship earlier than the promised date. This has been looking like it was definitely not going to happen.

Have just cancelled my order. Stock quad core so don't get too excited about moving up the queue if you're expecting a more meatier version!

Got a bit bored waiting and reading about resellers getting stock in and some with discount prices. I'm going to hang loose and watch what happens over the next few weeks. Will either buy from a reseller or even the major UK chain store if stock starts to arrive.

I prefer to buy most of my Apple kit from the two local Apple retail stores for some reason. Who knows, they may eventually get the nMP in stock and surprise us all!

You're most probably right. However from a perception point of view (especially with the very long lead times we've had leading up to the release of the new machine) it doesn't help us feel valued Apple customers. Don't get me wrong, I'm a realist and I fully appreciate the technical reasons why Apple took a while to get this thing out. I just think that with the obvious pent up demand there was for the product Apple should be shifting boxes in our general direction and the retailers should wait. Of course, that's not how the real world works. Doesn't mean I have to like it, though.

Hi folks.

In what is turning into a daily check of the spreadsheet stats, here's how things have moved in the last 32 and a bit hours.

To recap, here's how it stood at 2.30pm Friday (UK time)

US - 15 out of 61 still with no dates
Canada - 3 out of 11 still with no dates
Europe - 17 out of 30 still with no dates
Asia/Oceania - 9 out of 12 still with no dates

And now how it looks on Saturday 10.45pm (UK time). Yes, it's Saturday night and I'm sat at the computer counting boxes on a spreadsheet. I should seriously get a life. (Changes in red. As before, these are "January" orders only.)

US - 15 out of 66 still with no dates
Canada - 2 out of 11 still with no dates
Europe - 17 out of 31 still with no dates
Asia/Oceania - 8 out of 13 still with no dates

So if you discount the ones that have been added that have already been delivered (which is most of the new ones) then like yesterday, Apple have made another 2 units. Whoop! Whoop!

Until tomorrow (unless I get that life)...

Richard if you're looking for stock quad core in the UK then there are 2 available at Jigsaw24 ready for next day delivery: http://www.jigsaw24.com/mac-pro-quad-xeon-e5-3.7ghz-12gb-256gb-dual-firepro-d300-2-x-2gb/mac-pro/-/fcp-product/21666

No, the crappy experience is seeing dozens of orders filled weeks before mine, some with identical configuration. No, "Ships in January" is not the same as "Ships January 31" when others below me have had theirs shipped a full 3 weeks ahead. Glad for those that received theirs early, but Apple has NOT been truthful when they have repeatedly stated that they ship in order. I have been at the leading edge of Apple shipments dozens if times, but I have never before seen the arbitrary way that orders are being filled with this product.

When people are in a visible line, everyone will resent an arbitrary treatment. Apple's failure is they thought no one could see how they were filling orders. We see.

And BTW, it is also unfair if orders were placed at the same time, that US addresses ship first. I am in the US, but I think it is unfair the way Apple is favoring US shipments.

Thanks again, AJC. Interesting to see that there were no status updates at all on Saturday 25 January (technically Jtoyoda's update was on 24 January, Austin time (CST)). Keep the stats updates coming!

Is this really all going to come together by next Friday?! I have no confidence now, based on Apple's approach to date. BTW the word "in" in your signature may need updating... :(

Cool. And it looks like you're supremely close to receiving your nMP now...

Why, yes I am! I just checked FedEx tracking, and it made it to the destination sort facility about 25 miles from me. (No more scary plane flights for it.)

I can't wait to pull the zip tab on the box on Monday...but I promise not to be the 500'th person to post an unboxing video on YouTube. I just want to tell those people that unless they film themselves opening the box with a chainsaw or a flame thrower, we've seen it already. :D

Certainly hope your order shows some progress soon!
