Woke up this morning and saw that the status has switched to preparing for shipment! The credit card charge processed this morning as well, so hopefully sometime next week....

nMP Update

In my last post I said I would escalate if I did not see any changes within a week on my availability status. Well I was too bust to do so. This morning I checked my order status and it has improved from March 6th to February 21st, so progress is being made!

As a reminder I ordered on 12/19 @ 8:29 AM. config: 8c/32GB/1TB/700. I had the latest availability date of the 12/19 CTO orders on the spreadsheet; it appears they will clear the 1st day orders in February.

I feel for all of you who ordered in December and STILL have yet to receive the machine. I finally ordered on 2/6 (a mere 9 days ago) and am already experiencing the "when for the love of God will it ship?" jitters. Fortunately, my shipping hasn't slipped to April - it's still at "March"

Hang in there December orders!

P.S. I've entered my info on the spreadsheet as well. 8/32/512/D700

P.P.S. Incidentally, I just noticed my join date here on the forums: Jan 2008. That's when I got my early 2008 Mac Pro, which is what I'm finally upgrading from. Should be a HUGE increase in performance for me. I'm planning on keeping the old machine around as an additional Mental Ray render node for the time being, as it's performed admirably in that respect.

At the end of march.

I ordered a nMP 12/19 at 1:20PM PST and unfortunately the order is still stuck in limbo, shipping in February. I got really excited when a pending charge appeared on my credit card last Friday, the 7th, but since then that's disappeared from the account. I called Apple but the person I talked to was clueless. I did ask about next day shipping and his reply was that Apple sends everything "expedited service", whatever that means.

I ordered a CTO, entry model with 500GB flash storage. I wonder if the hangup is a lack of supply of that size flash storage.

Anyway, I'm back to expecting it'll be a February 28 shipping date. Sigh.

I think they have a problem with production line.

Time to check in here and thank you all for making waiting so entertaining. Special thanks to scissors for the fine spreadsheet - good work, good idea. Thanks to AJ for enduring to be a "mobbing" victim and all the guys creating new ideas for making new statistics.
I'm on the February list as well and I made several scenarios to predict my shipping date - of course they all failed due to the secret curtain hanging around the production site in Texas.
Nevertheless as we often say here "Anticipation is the best kind of joy..."
- still waiting for the postman to ring the doorbell in February
Uli

Glad you've found it entertaining, 50Bytes. There's no doubt these pages helped me during the long dark days of January. However, my experience doesn't seem so bad when I read some people who ordered in December still haven't got their machines. :(

I've had mine nearly 2 weeks now. I had my previous MP for nearly 7 years (a 1,1 model) and it's been sat on the desk since I got the nMP (new carpet, don't want to make marks in it as the old machine is about to go). Decided to manually transfer rather than use Migration Assistant to clear out 7-years worth of fluff. Was just sat here preparing to shift over the last few bits. Might finally get the old MP off the desk tomorrow.

I've just shut down the old machine to type this message on the new one and it's suddenly gone soooooo quiet. The silence after my old Mac Pro finally went to sleep a moment ago is deafening. I'm sat less than 2 feet away from the nMP and if I listen really really carefully I can just about make out the fan (if I hold my breath), although it may be a pin dropping in the room next door.

You are all going to love your new machines!!! :D

I didnt exactly get a response full of helpful information and a valid explanation but at least i feel like im on someones radar right now. Still expecting a shipping date of 28th Feb.

Good news is my 27" Dell monitor arrives today. Will have to plug the Air into it for now.

I ordered a U2713HM a week after the Mac Pro. I've been using it attached to my rMBP for 8 weeks now. I love the monitor; still no nMP.

When did you order?
Dec 19 at 9:48am PST... I've been on the spreadsheet since around Christmas.

Apple notification say Feb 18, but FedEx estimate is Monday the 17th, which coincidentally is a CA holiday and part of the 3 days weekend where I'll be home binging on Game of Thrones Season 3...

So the good news is 3 days weekend and GoT S3... Bad news is I wouldn't be able to olay with the new toy for a day...

Just checked emails and got my shipped notification. Estimated delivery 24th. I can fly to new York in 8 hours. The next week is going to feel like forever

Just placed my order too to the Spreadsheet (6-core model, added D700)
Ordered from Finland through Verkkokauppa.com. It comes maybe at the end of the February or early March. Waiting it like a little boy!

This gives us some more light on the horizon! I also love these quiet machines. Several years I worked with old and loud computers beside my desk, always being distracted by roaring fans and clanking hard drive heads.

There is a little movement on the European Orders, I feel. Next week will be exciting...

Can anyone see order status on apple store web site?

it says
We're sorry.
Something went wrong with your request. Please try again later.

I hope this is a good sign for those who are waiting for their nMP. :)

got it, now I need help

Can anyone who has received their new Mac Pro recommend a mouse that works well? I'm crushed that my beloved Logitech Performance MX mouse barely works at all - and not well. Even the wireless Apple Magic Mouse is too imprecise to tolerate. I'll use a corded mouse with a strong recommendation.

By way of note, my Logitech Keyboard seems to have sluggish response - high latency. Really annoying.

Hard to enjoy my new hotness when my input devices suck.

That's a bummer. I have a magic mouse in the drawer already allocated to my nMP. I also have a logitech k750, which keyboard do you have?

by the way

I ordered mine on 12/12 at 7:19am. The only upgrades were 16gb RAM and 512 HD. Received it 2/13 at 4pm.

I have the K800. Everything works, just not as quick and snappy as I would hope. Tolerable, but any latency makes a $3500 computer feel flawed.

I've read quite a bit, and it seems all of the logitech mice don't work (well enough) - no drivers from logitech yet. I'm going to call Apple today and ask why I can't turn off the tracking multiplier on the magic mouse. It's like using rubber bands to steer a car - I'm losing my mind!!!!!
