Just ordered mine, pleasantly surprised to see 2 - 3 weeks as the schedule, much more pleasantly surprised to see the educational discount I qualified for, which is really good!

I went for the base spec, upgraded to 6 cores and a 512GB SSD. I'll be maxing the ram too, but not paying the Apple tax (64Gb third party is not a lot more expensive than 32Gb from Apple).

Edit: Got a text within hours saying my order had shipped! ... it was just the cable to hook the machine up to my 30" ACD though :-(

Ordered my 6c/1tb/16GB/D300 on April 10. Original delivery date was May 14th. Checked this morning ( not that I check that often) an delivery date slipped to May 22! Disappointing to say the least.

27 days already since I ordered, no delivery or anything, very disappointing! For me, it looks like they try to get shipping times down for new orders and don't care about existing orders, let them wait for the time-frame they got at order-date.
So I will get mine between 22 May, 2014 - 28 May, 2014 - THANK YOU :apple:

I just placed an order at B&H for a Mac Pro 4/16GB/256GB/D300, basically base model + 4GB memory. They have it in stock so hopefully I will get it by their estimate delivery date (Friday, May 23rd).

To those of you who ordered and waited forever, did you backorder? It sucks that people who ordered after you get their orders delivered before your order even ships. That's messed up.

Anyway, I'm so excited! This is the most I've ever spent in one go on anything. Stoked to join the elite ranks of Mac Pro owners/users.

Hey, ordered mine at Apple on April 17, yesterday (exactly 4 weeks after I ordered) it was ready for shipment, today they shipped it.

Apple Store now shows 1-2 weeks. Very strange. 3 weeks straight they reduce shipping time by one week. For me it looks like they got huge orders when the Mac Pro was released and the month after, now it looks like they worked that load of orders off and demand is lower. Otherwise I don't get the math why an order like mine takes 4 weeks and new orders now can be processed in 1-2. Maybe they improved the workflow or extended the factory, who knows.

Definitely. When it was released, there were so many Mac Pro users who waited for Apple to release something new to replace their existing Mac Pro. These guys probably accounted for a bulk of the orders. Plus, the design was completely different to traditional workstations. So I bet there were many people who ordered one but didn't have one before. New users. Couple this with the fact that the Mac Pro is a low volume product (compared to MacBook Airs or iPhones), the shortage was pretty real.

I ordered on May 7th with a 27th - 30th estimate which worked for me as I am in mainland Europe until the 25th. Today is the first time I've had internet since last Thursday and I find my Mac Pro was dispatched on the 16th and was delivered to my neighbour (seeing as I'm in the Pyrenees) on the 19th in the UK. Talk about great service!

It was a stock configuration Mac Pro. Now can't wait to get back home!

Ordered an 8 core, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD, D500 on May 21st. Really excited to get this as my 2010 i5 MacBook Pro was starting to choke on large Logic/Ableton projects. :)

Glad to hear the wait times are down. I've been wanting to switch my work computers out for Mac Pro's for a while and have been given the ok to do so.

The thread seems to have slowed down, but thats a good thing! Means people are getting their nMP's quick :)

I'll add to it though.

Stock 6-core model with upgraded flash to 512GB + Apple Care

Order placed on May 18th, 2-3 week estimate with delivery scheduled for June 5th- 11th

Called in Apple today and asked if I could upgrade shipping. I was willing to pay but they upgraded me to overnight shipping for free. Sweet.

Hope it arrives a couple days early but happy with the low wait times overall.

I placed my order 9 days before you, and I'm still waiting.

I too called about upgrading shipping (and paying for it) but Apple have stubbornly refused to do anything about 6 day shipping, their customer service people have repeatedly claimed that they cannot ship a Mac Pro in less than 6 days, and have even told me that UPS don't ship from the USA to UK any quicker!

If you have any proof that they do overnight shipping, I would be very interested in seeing it, as I'm 99% sure they are lying to me.

That's interesting. Today I noticed they put a hold on my card and quickly thereafter my order changed to "Preparing for Shipment".

I think the overnight option might only be available in the states. All shipments are coming out of Austin, TX (And I'm actually located ~4 hours from there so that overnight won't probably affect the speed at which it gets to me).

Apple sells refurb MP really fast. There was the 12 core 2.4Ghz standing there. Then they put a 2.66Ghz model and it sold in like 20 min... and how come the 2.66Ghz doesn't get discount but the 2.4 and 3.2 quad get 14%?? not fair!

I can't buy a MP till august, and I just hope by then apple still sells a refurb 12 Core! Don't want to buy the quad core model!

Does anyone know how refurb works? I mean if someone returned these macs, how is it possible if apple stop selling them a year ago and the return policy is 14-30 days from purchase date?

The time in which Apple stopped selling the 2012 MP was not the same all over the world. In some regions like Europe they had to stop in April last year because of some electrical regulations, while in other markets it was further offered until end of last year and it's replacement by the nMP.

Woohoo! I just ordered my 6-core 3.5GHz nMP with 32GB RAM, 1TB Flash, and D500 upgrades. GAH! I'M SO EXCITED!!!!

I also ordered a wired keyboard, magic trackpad, Apple Care, and a mini DP to Dual-link DVI adapter for my 30" Samsung monitor. I can hardly wait!

I ordered via the phone so my account rep was able to knock a few percentage points off the price. Saved me a fair bit of scratch!

Mine shipped a week before the expected delivery date, and I was quoted 2-3 weeks. So you should get yours quickly!

Well ladies and gents, I am back. After canceling my first hour order that was taking forever, my nMP will be here in Thursday a week after ordering.

With my earlier rant about poor communication and out of order shipping, a friend of mine told me about the friends and family discount. Thanks to him, I am getting more machine for the same money.

He also was able to up-channel my "concerns."

Getting my hopes up! I'd be happiest with a Friday delivery so I get myself the day off to play with it all weekend but if I get it before the expected delivery date I will be very happy.

I've often wondered what the different stages of the Order/Shipping Status means. "Processing Items" is what mine currently says.

Am I the only one that continually looks at the order status for Apple orders? :( The wait once ordered feels excruciating. Dread to think what it was like when this first came out.

My 6-core D700 arrived earlier than stated. So did my Dell UP2414Q from Amazon.

Finally, I have a Mac with retina graphics! That's THE display for the Mac Pro, in my view. Best display for any computer, in fact--and well supported by OS X, with full res in games, and super-sharp 2x for everything else, plus scaled modes that are equivalent to 2560x1600 at 1.5x, and sizes above and below that as well.

It's not perfect, and I wish Apple had their own similar display! With mic, camera, speakers, TB2 hub, and brightness key suport. In the mean time, the styling is more Apple-like than Dell used to be, with a mix of real aluminum and silver-painted plastic. So is the build quality--not bad overall. (One of the buttons is finnicky to use, and the sensor that turns on the OSD light is over-sensitive, so it keeps popping on. And portrait only works if I switch to HDMI, but then the mouse can't move at 60Hz. I wish the Mac brightness keys worked, since Dell's touch controls are really annoying.) I like that it can be lowered almost to the desk, feeling like a giant laptop, and I like that it sleeps with the Mac. I also like that you can turn off the distracting power button light (but it still pulses--in a weird half-assed way--when asleep).

As for the Mac--it's as fast as I'd hoped and should last me for years!

Holding out hope mine will be delivered earlier than stated then now....

What was the time between 'Processing Items' and Preparing for Shipment/dispatch with your model?
