Been waiting since January for Arrandale but then they didn't come out for 13" so i waited for the BTS promo and today I ordered my 13" MBP 2.4, 320gb harddrive, 4gb memory, iwork preinstalled, black incase plus, Epson 615 all in one printer and 32gb ipod touch can't wait for my mac.

I have been following the forums for quite some time. Finally bit the bullet and ordered an Macbook Pro 15.4 inch Hi-Res Antiglare core i5 processor 2.4GHz with 4GB RAM and 320GB HD.

Biggest ever purchase I have made in my life so far lol. I feel broke now.

Now for the hard part waiting.
Once it arrives, you'll feel _wealthy_ it's such a nice computer. .. :)

Finally got my MBP yesterday! This is my first Mac and I'm so excited :)

I ordered the 13" MBP 2.4, 320Gb hard drive, 4Gb RAM, iWork preinstalled.

The order was placed on the 3rd of May (along with a Magic Mouse and Apple remote) and it took three weeks to arrive. Considering that I live all the way in Nigeria (West Africa) I'd say that's pretty good timing.

I'm looking forward to gr8 times ahead with my new laptop. And for all the other foks out there still waiting for their :apple:, I hope the day arrives sooner rather than later

MBP 15.4/2.53Ghz/500GB 5400RPM/SD/Hi-Res Glossy arrived yesterday, so far so good. My last notebook I have used was the 13-inch 2.53Ghz (mid-2009) with stock SSD. The 5400RPM HDD does sound a bit noisy for my taste.

AMEN

JUST ordered my MBP on the 12th, but now the BTS iPod Touch thing just came out. Under two weeks here, is there any way to still get that promo or am I SOL? Thanks!

I just recently received a new 13-inch MacBook Pro as a gift for college. I was actually just shy of Back-to-School deal but I called my local Apple Store and they'll still let me have a free iPod touch.

13" Coming Tomorrow

Just picked up a 13" 2.4 Ghz for my wife from MacMall and its coming tomorrow. I'm excited for her as she made the Apple switch last year when I got a 15" MBP and she got my old 15" Powerbook G4. That replaced her Dell which was about the same age as my PB, but was a complete mess.

While it was an upgrade from the Dell, the PB has been acting "odd" lately and since its almost 7+ years old we decided it was time for an upgrade.

So this will be her first new Mac. :) We're gonna pick up a DVI adaptor so she can use it with our 24" screen in the office when she wants to work on a photos and stuff.

I finally pulled the trigger after waiting for about three months. Back to school promo just did it for me. Here is what I got. Cheers

My 17 inch Powerbook is also 7 years old. Although I replaced it for everyday use with a 17 inch MBP a couple of years ago, the old PB still gets regular use. They were great machines. To this day, my old PB is the longest lived computer I have owned.

It was indeed a great machine for me and I am sad to see it starting to show its age. I had the optical drive replaced under Applecare, the mother board also replaced by Applecare (trying to fix the errant bad screen pixel which it didn't) and I replaced the HDD a couple years ago when the original went kapooey on me. When my wife inherited it from me the screen still had the bad pixel, but I just realized that its been fine again for the last few months. :p

I'm not sure what's up with it now...seems to be a power issue (turns itself off at time and then won't turn back on easily), but between the screen (which is also not very bright anymore) and these new symptoms its time for it to be laid to rest.

Previous computers... All PC's

New computer bought yesterday
Apple MBP 13" 2.4GHz

Verdict

Amazing.

I love it!
Easily fast enough for what I do (which is not much other than word/excel, music, youtube and facebook), has an absolutely outstanding touchpad and spotlight is awesome! :D Love OSX. But, will probably just get an SSD soonish for no real need.

Very happy with the purchase. Typically getting 7.5ish hours thus far on battery. Coming slightly under the regular 9ish on my old Asus UL30a.

Not going back to PC!:apple:

I ordered a glossy hi res 15" i7, but I got a antiglare i7 today instead. I was in doubt on getting a glossy or AG, and at the last minute went with the glossy

edit:
MBP 15.4/2.66/CTO

With the following configuration:
PROCESSOR 065-9134 2.66GHz Intel Core i7
MEMORY 065-9135 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x2GB
HARD DRIVE 065-9140 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
OPTICAL DRIVE 065-9145 SuperDrive 8X DL
DISPLAY 065-9412 MBP 15"HR Antiglare WS Display

I could've sworn I clicked glossy. well after using the laptop for a while I'm glad i made that "mistake". found a couple of dead pixels, but nothing alarming. I was ready to try and contact apple or go to the store to have them charge me the $50 difference.

Got my 13 MBP today!

I bought my 13 MBP brand new sealed from a college student today for $900. It's the new 2010 model (320m 2.4ghz). I couldn't be happier! I love everything about it. On my way home, I tethered my iphone wirelessly and played online while I was on the train. It a was very special because I remember dreaming of having internet anywhere on the go as a kid. Also because I have not had the pleasure of using such a fine operating system!

Today was an awesome day and I can't wait to get my Seagate Momentus XT this week!!

Got my 15" i7 and already hate Windows....

I ordered my very first laptop/MBP on April 14th. Expected delivery date May 20, but luckily it came in on May 12 and of course I immediately went to the store to pick it up. Had planned a week off from work, so it couldn't have fitted better as I could play with it for days :). It was already clear to me after a few hours: never want Windows again! My gosh, Apple MBP is fast, easy, logical, good quality and a relief and joy to work with! Using Windows at work it is getting a pain to me more and more. I'm soooo glad I have better material for private use. I'm only a little bit dissapointed about the battery life (think it only lasts for about 4 - 4,5 hrs with constant, full use of the laptop) and MacMail / Entourage. Still believe Outlook is better but hé.... New Office version incl. Outlook will come this year.... From now on only :apple::apple::apple: for me!

Ordered the 15" Core i5 2.53GHz Macbook Pro on May 15th, and received it yesterday (25th). It was shipped from Shanghai.

Love it so far. The screen is amazing, even though I didn't upgrade to the hi-res version. It's bright and crisp. I am able to stream 720p content with wireless, which is totally amazing.

I didn't do the migration at first, as I didn't have my existing Macbook with me. So, I will probably do it later tonight.

Worth every penny!

I ordered my first Mac ever, today! I ordered the base MBP 13" with the HDD upgraded to 320GB, iWork preinstalled, an Apple Remote, and a 32GB iPod Touch.

I placed my order at 9:12 AM EST and have not received a confirmation email, yet. I can see my order with my account at the Apple site, though.

Well im waiting on my first Mac ever to arrive, hopefully get a delivery date next week as its via a re-seller (Computer for home work scheme) And i was lucky enough to get them to allow me to customise to the HR Anti Glare screen.

Ive been reading these forums since Jan and managed to get the company to hold off forcing me to take the older model and i was part of the Tuesday club for months. My patience is starting to wear thin now as its finally ordered and paid for. Get Tax & National Insurance contributions towards it so ends up a bit cheaper.

Have been reading ann the noob threads but it gets boring as i dont have the machine yet!

Hello! I am a long time reader of MR and I finally decided to make an account and post =]

Current Computer:
2008 MacBook Pro 15 inch
2.2GHz Core 2 Duo
2GB RAM
GeForce 8600M GT 128MB
160GB HDD

Just Ordered
2010 MacBook Pro 13 inch
2.66GHz Core 2 Duo
4GB RAM
GeFore 320M 256MB
128GB SSD

Was really gonna go for 15 inch i7 2.66GHz, but I changed my mind last minute and thought that I should try out the portability of a smaller laptop.

Just placed an order for a 13 inch 2.4 base model and the "free" 8GB Touch. My first official Mac. And I say official because up until a week or so ago I had a Dell Mini 9 with Leopard.

Really wanted an i5 but I stepped back and told myself that i've waited a year already and that after hammering a 13 inch floor model and finding it capable of handling everything I wanted it to, I didn't need to spend the extra $600.

Just Got My Mbp15

I have never been so excited...I cant contain my joy :). 15" i7 HR AG in front of me. I think I will have to wait tell I calm down before I open it....I was disappointed that it was going to arrive all the way on thurs but I arrived today. :)

Once I clam down I will post pictures of my new MBP and please do give me advice on things to do...first time MAC owner....btw I did plenty of research but cannot even think straight.
