I Ordered my 1st MB, MBP 15", last week (27th May) [2.66GHz Intel Core i7, 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x2GB, 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400, SuperDrive 8X DL, MBP 15" HR Glossy WS Display] and waiting for delivery on 4th June..:)

Can anybody tell me, How much they charge if I return it un-opened or opened..??

Because, WWDC is on 7th June, and I'm expecting changes on MBP.:D

Thanks.

Crack it open and enjoy. No way in h3** they are going to update the MBP after two months. Apple takes FOREVER to update hardware and is not capable of updating so quickly. Your are very safe in that regard.

Quick Question. I've been reading through this thread and I noticed that alot of members buy their mbp from the apple online store. Why is it so? Do they carry low stocks in store? I'm just asking because I am planning on buying a mbp 13 with my student discount after wwdc next week and we have about 5 apple stores in the houston area. Just curious.

I think it's mainly because you can customize it online, I think the stores only carry base models, so you can't get more RAM or a different hard drive, or they have to order it for you which is equally inconvenient. Although I could be wrong.

I just got my 15" MBP (base model - 4GB RAM, 320GB HD) on Sunday, and have loved every minute of it. Yes, I got the base model, but I know I can upgrade the RAM & HD myself later :)

no you are right for me MBP 17" 4MB glosy screen they did not have so I had to order it on line.

Ordered on the 26th May. Delivery date was originally 11 June but now had been changed to TODAY! :D.

Can't wait to receive it. I ordered the base 15 with antiglare. Its pretty much overkill for what I am gonna do lol.

Just ordered my first ever Apple - got $200 off the student price for the base 15" i5 down here in Australia

CANT WAIT :)

:DThe expected date for my MBP to arrive was tomorrow, but it's out for delivery today as well as the iPod. I can't wait for them to get here!

I ordered my first ever mac last friday (a 13" MBP with the microsoft home and student 2008 and the free iPod touch). I received the iPod touch yesterday and am supposed to get my mac tomorrow! I am so excited!
Although has anyone had issues with the FedEx tracking number saying "in transit" in Shanghai for days? Mine has said that since 3:00 yesterday morning, but I am supposed to receive my package tomorrow- is this normal?

My mbp shipped three days ago and has been "in transit" in shanghai since then but I'm not supposed to receive the computer until the 8th..

Ordered mine Wednesday 1pm Sydney AU time.

Is still being configured.

I am regretting getting the HDD upgrade, I should have chosen to do that myself and bought a 640GB Seagate or something.

Oh well, as long as it is in my hands by Next thursday C.O.B. I will be happy, got a long drive on Friday, and a weekend with my folks, so need a machine to play on when they get to annoying.

I just bought an iPad as a graduation and birthday gift for my grandson. I received the shipping notice email from Apple on 31 May and it was delivered before 10:30 am on 3 June.

Received my new macbook pro 15 inch i5 yesterday. After setting it up and putting applications and data. I was on it for hours. Very impressed with speed, battery life and trackpad. Still need to transfer some more stuff lol

OS X rocks. :)

I just bought my first mac ever. I feel kind of dirty. I just got out of debt and paid off my credit card and then instantly put 3k on the card.

I'm a pretty avid anti-apple person, for a bunch of reasons but... here we go

i got a 15" MBP 2.4GHz 256 SSD just waiting on the confirmation?

do they send confirmation?

When you order online you might you have wait a couple of hours for the confirmation. I received a email nearly a day after ordering an macbook.

What's with all the new first time mac owners?

Anyhow, just put an order for a 13 inch MBP. My titanium powerbook has finally deservedly retired after a very long run.

Okay, I finally took the plunge.

My 2006 MacBook 1.83GHz Core Duo has been working semi-faithfully for over 4 years. It's had 3 replaced top cases (2 yellowing, 1 chipped off edges), 2 replaced hard drives, and 1 replaced screen. Now it's 2010 and time to move away from the cheap cracking plastic.

I decided to go with the 15" i7. While I love the 13" form factor, the Core2Duo was the deal breaker.

I ordered mine through Amazon. $2099 with no tax or shipping, plus $100 off from Amazon gift certificates I had, brought this down to $1999. This will easily last me for another 4 years, so I can justify the cost of $500/year.

Based on GeekBench, the new laptop should be around 170% faster than my Rev.A MB. I'll find out on Monday! The wait is killing me...
