I just got a macbook pro and I love it. Now, I won't need a new laptop/ computer for a while. I won't be needing/getting a laptop until it is significant such as incorporation of usb 3.0, etc.

Ordered my first macbook pro yesterday, and am now eagerly/impatiently waiting. It says it should be delivered between Jun 10-17 ... gaah... Waiting sucks. eeeeeeeee.:apple:

After going through many iPods I ordered my first 15" MBP yesterday, too! It shipped today, and is estimated to arrive on the 10th. Incredibly excited. Waiting for something you really, really want can be a bit agonizing. I just want it in my hands!

i have a feeling this macbook is..well not on the up and up.. it was brand new and got a pretty good price.. so if i go into apple will they inturn run the serial number?

I have heard of it happening before. If you thought you may have been buying stolen property then why did you go through with it? How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking, and for what model?

well, the guy said he used it for a little bit and needed money to pay something... i paid $750 for the newest 13inch pro.

i guess i can deal with the 2 pixels.. i didnt register the laptop bc after i bought it and got home and looked at the prices i figured something was up.. got it off craigslist. but like i said, idk if its legit or not. guy seemed on the up and up, drove a nice car, had on a business suit etc..

$750 isn't outrageously low. If you got it with the box and peripherals I would be confident enough to have it repaired.

I got a macbook pro recently with BTS. I didn't register it when I first turned the macbook on. Can I still register it? IF so, how?

Received a 13" Macbook Pro for graduation. It is the 2.4ghz model with 4gb memory. Switching from a PC over to my first Mac has been amazing. I'm already loving this thing and I've only had it for a few days. :D

so as long as i didnt register this i pretty much skipped sending any information to apple?

A built-to-order 15" i7 is on its way to me now to replace a four-year-old MacBook Pro. The order status page today says "Prepared for Shipment." This is probably been asked before, but any guesses on when it will ship and how quickly it'll get here?

Very excited....

Well, it ended up shipping last night (from Shanghai), though now Fedex isn't estimating delivery for another week. Does it really take that long?!

I have a quick question. My macbook pro was shipped on the 7th, it doesn't say with who and there is no tracking number or assigned carried. It says it's going to be updated shortly but it's said that for two days. Will I get an email once the info is updated, or do I need to keep checking it online?

Log in via the Apple.com/us website (even if your in a diff country), tracking on the US website is more up-to-date and accurate.

You can check the serial # by clicking on the apple icon in the top left half of the screen and then click on about this mac and then on more info and it will brink up all information including serial #,then go to apple.com and click on Support and on the right hand side there will be a box saying self service and below that it will say check your coverage and support and it should tell you all you need to know, the warranty info and rather if it's stolen.I would definitely check on that,$750 seems awfully low for A laptop that costs $1199.But just check that and it should tell you

13"MBP 2.40ghz 4gb Ram nvidia Geforce 320m
iphone 16gb White 3GS Soon to be iphone 4

ok, did that.. heres what comes up.

Please register your product

Apple is unable to provide information about your service coverage. Please submit your date-of-purchase information so we can update our records. Your sales receipt is needed for warranty validation, so be sure to keep it in a safe place. Your warranty is the same whether or not you register. See your service options.
Registration is a simple, two-step process:
1. Sign in with your Apple ID. What's an Apple ID?
2. Provide the product's date of purchase.

It looks like it has never been registered,so it may not be stolen, your apple id is an id apple gives you when you sign up for itunes it's free, you just open up itunes click on itunes store which is on the left hand side then in the upper right corner click on sign in,a box will open up and at the top it will say create new account click that and follow the steps.I have a question when you first turned on the laptop did it take you straight to the desktop? or did it take you through a setup process? if it took you straight to the desktop, you can always use the operating disks that came with it and restore to factory condition, after you restore it it will then take you through a setup process and let you register and sign up for an apple id if you don't have one,you can also get one through itunes with the steps i gave above, that way you won't have to show any kind of receipt,or the purchase date.If you need steps for restoring to factory condition here is a link that will give step by step directions-http://grok.lsu.edu/Article.aspx?articleId=13430

i skipped past that register screen when i booted the laptop up.. i can register it right on apples site, im going to call my local store tomorrow before i waste time doing all this to see if they would replace my screen because its only 2 (it should be ZERO) but yeah.
