Finally after days of looking through posts, I have decided to go with MBP 13" base model! I'm getting with my educational student discount and iPod Touch at £130, not to forget I had a good bargain on phone asking to match printer offer although it was discontinued. Nice guy gave me a £60 credit instead! Ordering through the phone can help you bargain some real good deals. It also depends on who you talk to, the guy was extremely helpful.

£858.93 (MBP 13") - £130 (iPod Touch Rebate) - £60 (Printer Credit) = £669.93! That's a bargain assuming that I sell my iPod Touch at £130. I got the 3 years additional warranty cover at £47 making my purchase £716.93 which is cheaper than a standard Macbook educational pricing! I guess I have got myself a good deal :)

Says ships in 24 hours, fingers crossed!

Please Answer

Can anybody answer this?

I am going to order a custom MBP soon, and I was going to order a couple of other things along with it. (same cart)

Somebody told me that if I do this, the delivery time will be a lot longer since they have to "Merge" the items together, since they dont come from the same place.

So would it be better to make 2 different orders? One being the MBP which should be delivered in 3-5 days, and then the accesories which should be delivered in 2-3 days?

I just dont want to wait the 2-4 weeks (the time that the guy told me if I order together) to get my packages...

Call Apple and ask, the phone number is in the upper left corner of the online store's home page. To be honest they're the only ones that can accurately answer that question.

Roger

If you order multiple items, you may receive separate shipments. via http://store.apple.com/us/help/shipping_delivery

You shipping doesn't get delayed by adding multiple items, each items are shipped separately when available. :)

Wow! Did you get the standard model MBP or did you customize it? I hate to burst your bubble but in most cases if you order several items, they may arrive separately. Tomorrow may not be your MBP but an accessory or your iPod. :(
LOL Just saw your post above:) If it is your MBP then Im super excited for you too! At lease someone will get their product on time or sooner.

Can I ask which education discount you got, and how did you verify it over the phone.

Thanks

Shipping is actually pretty quick; I ordered a non-standard configuration and my MBP arrived in 6 days (including the weekend). :D

Just ordered!

Hey there, I'm gonna be a college student next year! I just placed an order for a new 15" MacBook Pro with an i7 processor. Upgraded to the 7200 RPM Hard Drive, and I opted for the Anti-Glare HR Display.

Aside from that, only extra goodies were iWork preinstalled, an Apple Remote (why not? :D) and Applecare.

Oh, and the free iPod touch. Engraved.

I'm patiently waiting for my new MBP to be shipped. I ordered it Tuesday afternoon with just minor, minor customization that I'm now wishing I had skipped so it would be shipped faster. Looks like I will have to wait until next week for this thing to be on its way.

Can't wait, though!:D

University, or other Higher Education establishment. They send you an e-mail to your Uni. email account (.ac.uk in my case) and ask you to reply to the message to confirm you have access to it.

Yay! My MBP arrived today as promised... fastest ever shipping I guess for MBP + iPod Touch custom engraving ;) Less than 24 hours!! Can't wait to leave home to play for MBP!!!

I just bought a refurbished Core i5 MacBook Pro, so excited! But what are my chances to get a lemon? It is refurbished after all...

very disappointed in apples handling of my dead pixels, since i have 2 they refuse to do anything for me, this laptop is 5 days old, they told me they could fix it but id have to pay for it since it doesnt fall under apples warranty.. complete bs.

If you ordered it online I would've just called them and told them that the screen was defective in terms of being dark on one side and light on the other, they would exchange it immediately. I wouldn't have bothered about telling them about any bad pixels. Every company is the same way about dead pixels.

I ordered my first MacBook Pro on Tuesday night around 10PM. It shipped Wednesday and I got it today.

I got the 15" i7 with HR Antiglare screen. Just installed Boot Camp and Windows 7 Ultimate for my work apps.

I'm very new to OS X, but I think this is a beautiful and extremely fast laptop. I have a 160 G Intel SSD (G2) that I was going to put in this laptop, but the 500 GB drive in it is really fast. I think I may sell the SSD to make some of my 'Apple Tax' money back.

oh well, im having macreboot change my screen from a samsung to a auo, they said it would run around $270, does anyone know any other places that repair it cheaper? all i need is the LCD replaced.

Just picked up at the 2.66GHz 13" MBP model this evening. Everything is running flawlessly. The battery is outstanding! First battery drain lasted about 8 hours with moderate use. My only concern is that the battery capacity is already at 98% with only 4 load cycles. ??

Nice!! Did you go for glossy or matte? I ordered the 15" i5 with Hi-Res glossy but I called Apple and I'm exchanging it and upgrading to the matte. :)

I've heard about this with other MBP owners and one had said that the capacity went down after just around 4 cycles but went back up when he checked at a later day. I don't think the battery is anything to worry about.

I ordered a MBP yesterday afternoon - the 8 hrs battery you're reporting sounds awesome (especially when the old 2009 MB and MBP usually gave you around 5.5 hrs battery depending on brightness etc (ofc upto 7)).

Can't wait until my MBP is delivered!

Got my first Mac today, a 13" 2.4Ghz MBP I got from Best Buy (price matched to Microcenter) for $999.

So far so good. Only thing holding me up right now is figuring out how to transfer over my iTunes library from my PC.
