This seems like a long time, what sort of shipping estimates are you guys getting?

1-3 days shipping is the prep time in china to produce the computer and ship it out. I guess it depends on how many upgrades you tacked on to the basic model Once sent from China, it depends somewhat on where you live and the timing of either FedEx or UPS for their flight schedules. My order is on it's way. It was shipped on day 2 following the order placement, and is "estimated to get to me by Wednesday the 25th (1 week after ordering it), but it should reach me by tomorrow-6d days. BTW, I am not near a major airport or hub of either FedEX or UPS. Two other items (MM and battery charger) that I ordered at the same time are already on the truck for delivery today (actually they were both ready for delivery on Saturday-2 days ago-but they are coming to my office which was closed! Waiting is the hardest part!!
 
Tell me about it! I haven't even been waiting that long yet and it is killing me ahaha. Well, I'm hoping it'll get shipped either today or tomorrow (that's me being ambitious), I check the order status way to often!
 
Unfortunately, I have read in this forum that the UK seems to have a longer than usual transport time. At least, I think I remember someone living in the UK lamenting that on this site. I hope I am wrong on that. As for checking frequently, yeah, I'm with you on this. Already checked 3 or 4 times since I woke up this morning!!:D


IT'S HERE. I checked for the 5th time and my new 15MBP 2.66 i7 4GB RAM 500HD@7200 HiRes antiglare screen is at the local facility ready for delivery!! The 5th day after ordering! Nick, I hope yours gets to you as quickly!

Haha ooh let us know how it is :) So how many days has it been so far? I seriously hope I get mine as quick haha. Are you in the US?

This is the 5th day since I ordered. Yes, I'm in the States. I live in Montana. It's on the FedEx truck now for delivery. Hope yours gets there just as fast if not faster:)

Don't worry... some others are in a worst situation :D
I order on the 17th, shipped on the 20th, and still today there's no UPS/TNT reference (but it was funny reading over the weekend an update that still today the laptop was in transit... yes... a prediction in the future... lovely), hence... it hasn't arrived from China.
But the funny part is that if it doesn't arrive on Friday at the latest... (and it won't because the estimated delivery date is 2nd, September) I will have to backorder during the weekend :) because on Monday's next week I'll be leaving the country and not coming till Christmas...

I did punish Apple about half of a year because of delaying the new laptops, and if now I am forced to return the laptop without ever putting my hands on it, I won't buy it until next year, that is... the next major update.
Apple should learn that in Europe there are customers as well, and it is not more difficult to deliver something in one week when they do it in US.

For what is worth... today I got the invoice by e-mail.... hahaha...
 
I'm wondering how long it usually takes Apple to charge a credit card after we place an order. I ordered the 15" MBP core i7, HR-AG and 128 MB SSD yesterday by phone. A sale rep helped me through and told me that everything's been taken card of. But I haven't seen Apple charged my credit card yet. I also bought a printer and an iPod touch, which should be shipped within 24 hrs. However, order status still say "not yet shipped".

I'm just so excited because this mbp will substitute my 4 y/o black macbook core duo.

Finally pulled the trigger!

Pulled the trigger yesterday on a new 17" i7 for my graphic design/video work! I have a perpetual tab open on my browser to check for updates easily. :p

So far, the iPod Touch and Apple Care have shipped, with a delivery estimate of Friday.

Let the impatience begin…

I believe it will show up when the order is shipped. That;s generally when they will put thru the charge on your card.
 
Bought my first Macbook pro 15 in.

Hello everybody, im new to Macs and just picked up my Macbook pro last week and I absolutely love it. Im still getting used to the commands and such but overall its spectacular! I had a lenovo t60 notebook and it was giving trouble like shutting down in the middle of important sound editing projects and such so I went with the best and now my sound and commercials are at top notch quality im so pleased with my purchase.
15in. 2,4 ghz, 4bg sdram, 320gb hd

Thanks fcortese!! In fact, right after receiving an order acknowledgement email from Apple this afternoon, I found that the order status was changed to "prepared for shipment" and my credit card got charged. This took Apple about 1 full day after I placed an order.

I pulled the trigger yesterday on the educational promo and purchased a new 15" MBP i7 4GB/500GB 5000rpm w/AG, iPod 8G and a Canon MX870 printer.

As an existing MBP owner, this is a nice upgrade/replacement for my SR 2.4 matte. It is definitely faster than the old machine but not blazingly fast. I really like the new Hi-Res screen. I believe that the new MBP screen is better than the old machine or the glossy. I am also digging the longer battery life. I haven't put it to the acid test yet but so far I am impressed. I like not having to worry about my battery dying after a couple of hours.

However, a couple things bug me. One is the lack of secondary functions on the keyboard. I didn't realize it until a day after when I tried to find the "Home" key. Not sure why they did that. Another is that the edge of the MBP i7 is really sharp. I can feel it cutting into my wrists (ouch!).

Other than that, I've got a perfect machine (so far) and am happy with my purchase!

My 15" core i7 with high res glossy screen is Prepared for Shipment!!!!!!!! :O That along with my Canon printer. The free iPod touch should be here tomorrow! Hopefully my macbook pro comes by friday morning, cuzzzz that's when I move out to college.
 
Recieved my Macbook Pro 17 yesterday from amazon. Great price. I saved over 15% compared to the apple store or online apple store due to it already being marked down 9% and then not having to pay tax on it.
I ordered my applecare today from B&H photo and also ordered a 500gig 7200 rpm drive from newegg to replace the stock 5400.
 
ordered my 17" i7, 8gb ram & 128 SSD 2.5 weeks ago, the day has finally arrived, getting courier to me today! very exciting!

Finally! My macbook pro has shipped (look in sig).

Wish it would be here friday morning since I leave for College then, I guess my parents will have to drive it down, luckily I go to school only 1 1/2 away. :p
