Yes... I used to love my 23" LG Monitor, and it was way better than my old PC HDX16 screen.

Now this MacBook Pro High-Res Antiglare just made my 23" LG looks ugly and old.

I just love LED backlit screens... so much sharper than clearer + High-Res..

Sorry LG!

Hey good to hear although I don't see the sense of opening another thread just for this.

Well, after 2 years of countless issues with a late 2007 model 2.2ghz MBP, black screen of death, dud track pad, ambient light failures, sleep/wake failures and so on, I finally put my foot down at the Apple store and firmly requested a replacement MBP.

Much to my amazement, the next day I received a phone call from the Apple store saying they were upgrading me to the current 2010 2.4ghz core i5 model free of charge. It is of course the base model, but so was my 2.2ghz core 2 duo 2 years ago, and the price diff is £200 in my favour this time round!!

Cannot rate 'Apple Care' highly enough! Cheers Apple :)

Hello Everyone!

I ordered and received my 17' Macbook Pro just one week ago. :D I have a i7 2.66 8GB system I need a work horse and this fit the bill nicely.

I have to thank this community for all of the useful and informative information that you all provide so freely.

I did my homework and I have to tell you I could not be more happy with my purchase.

I am still getting comforable with the new system (I'm a switcher) and I'm sure I'll have questions but for now I just wanted to stop in and say "THANK YOU."

iKanndEE

Im looking to get the exact same ,, how is the size and the speed of it?? Have you tried any majorly intense programs at all?? Like Photoshop, video editing??

Aaaargh, so three weeks ago I ordered a spanking new MBP with antiglare screen from a local retailer. So I called yesterday to see when I could wait in front of their door with way to much money in hand.
It turns out that the order went into production TODAY, three weeks after I ordered and bought the Macbook.
So now the waiting process begins once again.

(curses in three languages)

Same here:(, I have been waiting for about 2 weeks.
The local retailer said that Apple is having stock problems, at least in Portugal.
I guess that I'll have to wait another 2/3 weeks.

I ordered a 2.4 glossy Hi-res screen mbp.

Good luck on waiting.

After many years of using Windows and Linux I finally made the switch to a Mac a couple of months ago and haven't looked back :apple:

I went for the 2.66GHz 13" Macbook Pro, with the education discount and the discounted iPod Touch. I thought I'd missed out on the discounted printer by a few days but they let me 'return and rebuy' it. Fantastic :D

For anyone else who needs the 13" model for portability but is wondering if the 2.66GHz upgrade is worth the premium I'd have to say yes - it's something that you cant upgrade later and has a noticeable impact on things like VMWare.

My new and first MBP was supposed to be delivered today. After three calls to TNT to make sure they had my adress updated as i contacted them monday to do, it turns out that they bloody of course hadn't updated the adress. *sigh*

Depends really. I ordered mines before 5pm and got it delivered the next day. Then theres people who didn't receive theres for 5-7 days.

Best to keep a tab on your order status (use Apple.com/us... even if your in the UK, the US tracker is most up-to-date).

Depends. If it's a base configuration (ie: no HDD/RAM/screen upgrades at all) then they'll usually ship it out within 24 hours.
If it's a custom build then it's anything between 3 days and 100 years.

Hi everyone, i'm new here!glad to find that forum.I'm looking for a Macbook pro, with two doubt:

-have the student discount should I go for 15 inch or ithe 13 inch with core 2 duo its good enough while using VMware machine?

-Reading the buyerguide seem to Macbook pro is close to the end of cycle?May wait?I can't wait, i'm fine with my pavilion but i waited too much for getting one of these.

What u recomend me?There is so much diference between 13 inch(c2d) and 15inch(i5)?

Thanks to everyone for reading.

You can wait if you want, but it's up to you. No matter when you buy a macbook a refresh is always looming :p
Processor difference between 2CD and i5 is significant, but they're both good machines.

im in a similar situation but im going to wait hoping for a 13 inch i5 hopefully but probably i3 in the next few weeks. i know there will allways be updates but it seems silly to buy now when there could be an update as soon as next week.

I've got the 2.66GHz 13" 2010 MBP and have been using VMWare Fusion (with Windows 7 and Ubuntu guest operating systems) without any problems.

After asking question after question here back in April/May, I finally pulled the trigger. I just ordered the Refurb 15.4 inch, i7, Hi-Res Anti-Glare MBP. $1,999 from Apple seemed like a pretty sweet deal, so I decided to grab my first Apple computer since the family's IIGS. Should be here on Wednesday. :) Thanks for all who helped with my questions.

Thx for comment but ''next few weeks''?? no leaked intel, no rumors, maybe the end of the cycle yeah.BUt waiting 1 month is not the same that wait until christmas and then wait again 2 month for buyin' it.Yes maybe encoding video and stuff can see the diference but coding something on VMware with ubuntu or windows won't be a problem, that C2D is the last of the last among the nvidia 320m sure I'll be happy. And for the hypotetcal next model, same price? Not sure...

Thanks man!
