The "I just ordered / bought / got my new/refurb MBP" thread [Merged]

How long do you usually have to wait before your order changes from 'Not yet shipped' to 'Shipped'?

I ordered mine just before midnight last night in the UK and its now 3:35pm next day and still hasn't been shipped

Best to check the status on the Apple.com/us webby as thats most up-to-date (despite ordering from the UK).

Ooooo that one says 'Prepared for Shipment' :D

Does that mean it'll be shipped in the next few hours?

Edit: Ooo now its shipped! :D I hope they delivery saturdays
 
Wow this sucks, I added a remote to my order and instead of 24 hour shipping I'm now looking at 3 working days and with a weekend approaching my order won't ship until tuesday or wednesday next week. Which means it won't be delivered until november 3 or 4. Damn.

WOOHOO! I have my macbook pro 13 -- 2.4. Just booted her up and currently running sofware update (1.5 gigs of updates!)

This is my first mac laptop, and my first mac in about 8 years. This baby is awesome. I love the light up keyboard. It feels so solid. Must practice how to use the touchpad! I figured out how to scroll though!

I love the new mac smell too. I'll have to go pick up a sleeve to protect against scratches though, the exterior is so nice I don't want it to get scuffed!

Glad I"m back in the club.

ps. also picked up a new ipod touch. Life is good. :apple:

See, told ya! lol

Unfortunately, they don't deliver on weekends. What you can however do is, pick it up from your local TNT/UPS depot (do call them before you leave and ask if its arrived). Some Apple systems are shipped from within the UK and some come direct from Shanghai (which takes 2-3 days longer). You'll probably be able to tell from your tracking no where its being dispatched from.

Are you sure? I asked someone on the apple like help and they said they do deliver on Saturdays, but on the site it says Mon - Fri...

It's showing up as 'In Transit' now and is at the stage 'TAMWORTH, GB 22/10/2010 23:11 DEPARTURE SCAN'

I ordered mine on the same day but earlier at 3pm ..

Did you order a standard model/setup or did you customise it?

Na, must be coming Monday, That was the estimated delivery date anyways. My tracker hasn't been updated since Friday night.

Yeah just got a standard one, no customisation.

There really are too many. Chances are, any topic you are interested in will be found using the search feature. I really like the desktop thread every month. It is a great source for wallpapers.

Mines being delivered today by UPS in the UK, the tracker has been saying 'out for delivery' since 6am this morning. I live in city centre so I'd of thought I'd be one of the first on their route but it's now 3pm and no sign of it...
 
Wow my order was shipped today, from Netherlands I take it, and the preliminary deliv. date is set for november 5th. What the HELL is that? 1 1/2 week to deliver a laptop? Boo Apple!

How can you tell where its being shipped from? I ordered mine last week Thursady and I have the same est date :(
 
I got my new 15" Macbook Pro and I am just going crazy about it :D
I've previously owned 2008 white macbook but there is nothing like MBP. I just love it. :)
 
Just got my new replacement MBP from the Apple store today. Love it so far but am getting used to the small font on the HRAG screen.

Stupid Question: I am feeling like I need to update flash player to the latest version knowing how sketchy it can be. How can I tell if it is installed on my machine (in light of Apple saying they were no longer shipping computers with it installed). I don't see it in the Applications folder.
 
To buy or not to buy!

I am wanting to order the MBP but considering waiting for an updated one? What are ppls thoughts on a new updated MBP coming out soon? The buyers guide says its overdue now and the last thing i want is to buy one only to have a refreshed one out a month or two later! if its gna be 6 months then i might as well get one now but if its gna be under 6 months then im thinking i should wait...
