All these rumors and pictures today...thunderbolt about to become real.

return home from work to find my "new" macbook pro has been delivered.

So its sitting on my desk, begging to be opened but I don't dare open it incase I can't swap it for a new one.

Just bought the 2.2ghz 15", with the high-resolution anti-glare display. No hard drive or ram upgrade (I'll probably swap out the ODD for an SSD, assuming that there have been no major changes making that unfeasible). Paid for the 2-3 day shipping, because why not? Should be here sometime between next Monday and Friday (really, really hoping for Monday).

I waited so patiently, for about 2 years until an MBP update had specs I could desire (the 9400+9600 lasted forever, and I skipped over the April 2010 update because I'd gotten myself a cheap placeholder laptop). These specs should be able to hold me for several years, just like my mid-2007 MB did.

I just placed my order for the 15" 2.2g to replace my 15-inch Early 2008 MBP. I like that we got the 7200rpm HD upgrade included in the base price, essentially narrowing the price gap betwen this and the entry level 15" to $300

Upgrades:
  • 8GB RAM - I was pleased to see the price drop to a more reasonable $200 from the last gen.
  • Hi-Res Antglare.
  • Shipping upgrade

:p

Been waiting and saving patiently for a while. Was hoping for higher res screen on 13". So I figured I couldn't go wrong with a refurbed 15" for $530 off. :).

My first ever osx machine. Can't wait. Glad I went for 15".

hello 2011 15in quad core i7 :cool:

Ordered 15" 2.2GHz with 128gb ssd upgrade, my first macbook or laptop ever! Hoping it comes sooner that the 03 Mar, 2011 - 08 Mar, 2011 delivery estimate.

Picking up a 2.7Ghz i7 13" tomorrow. Putting in a 120gb Vertex 2 or 3 SSD, 750GB HDD in place of superdrive and 8GB RAM. Paired with my ACD 27" it'll be a beast.

Just ordered the 17" Macbook Pro.

Specs:
* 2.2GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
* 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X2GB
* 750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 RPM

...Note: i will upgrade the ram and HDD after market.

Anyone know if / when the new models are likely to hit the Apple stores?

I've been waiting for the new MBP15, I'm debating swapping my 17" for one of the new 15's with a Hi Res display. I was disappointed until I say they had something bigger than 1440x900 available. Now I'm quite tempted, I figure I can sell off my MBP17 for enough to make the upgrade painless.

ORDERED!
15in 2.2ghz
256gb SSD
Hi-Res Anti-Glare

edit: anyone not get their confirm email yet? usually its instantaneous

Ordered!

15" 2.2GHz w/ Hi-Res Glossy Display.

Will be my first mac! Very excited.

I played the order about 15 ago, and still no email confirmation yet. I see a few other people with the same issue. Hopefully not a big deal?

yea its probably an overwhelming # of orders to process.....i used my student discount but technically not a student at the moment, so i was hoping it was not something to do with that. I do not think apple follows up on that, only $100

I just ordered a 2.2 with high res screen and haven't received an email yet. I wouldn't worry about it. My account says the order is in, so their email system must be a little backed-up.

lolz

Yesterday I sold my close to 2 year old MBP 13" 2.26 for $980, which is out of warranty. Today because of the refresh, I ordered a refurb MBP 13" 2.4 for $979. Sure I have to pay the taxes but I just got a faster spec, new(refurb) and new warranty. That is what I love about Macs, they retain in value. I only paid $1270 tax in at the time of purchase which means it cost me $290 to use for almost 2 years.

I also have a new SSD & 2 x 4GB chips waiting for my MBP. Sure it's not the newest but my iMac @ home is fully spec'd out which makes this a great buy regardless. Maybe I'll trade up the MBP, 6 months in after the new revision is released.

I ended up getting my email about 30min after submitting the order. I'm a student, so I went through the Education store as well, maybe that's a little slower, as I believe there's human involvement...
