Was dead set on waiting, but my local Microcenter got in an open box new model 13" MBP this morning for $899 and I jumped on it. This is my first Mac and I'm loving it so far!

Just got a MBP 15 i7 refurb last week. Upgraded to 8 GB OWC RAM and 120 GB SSD. This thing is wicked fast compared to my Early 2008 MBP 15 2.5 GHz.

I'm still getting used to the sharp edges though. The first day wa a little painful and times, but it seems that I am adjusting.

Ordered my 15" i5 2.4 this morning. Also ordered a Mercury Pro 120gb SSD and Optibay, a 500gb Scorpio black HD and 4gb (I already have 4gb from my current machine). My current unibody (C2D 2.53; that I love) will become my wife's.

Also ordered some AR-15 parts. :-D

I am going to buy 2 4GB sticks of RAM and upgrade it and am going to wait for the SSHD to come down a bit in price then get on and put it in. I cant wait!

if you ordered anything in the last day or two dont expect it anytime soon. the storm moving through the midwest is going through memphis, tn which is fedex's main hub for shipments. i ordered my 15" refurb MBP on sunday and the tracking info says it has shipped but there is no estimated delivery date.

I ordered a MBP yesterday with next day shipping and it's still showing up as on schedule. Maybe because next day shipping bypasses Memphis?

Well I have had mine now for exactly one week and it is everything I expected. I upgraded to 8gb of ram as soon as I got it. I have used it almost non-stop. The only downside is that my year old desktop (windows) isn't getting much use .

I ordered mine on Monday and it still hasn't shipped from Apple yet. I was hoping that I would have it by tomorrow but that does not look like it is going to happen. Maybe it will ship Friday and I might get it Monday but who knows.

I got my first ever mac, a Macbook Pro 13" on Tuesday.

The 13" is perfect for what I wanted to do, swapped from a 15.4" i3 Laptop and can't be happier (my daughter is chuffed too as she inherited the laptop)

Couldn't be happier with my purchase, just need to get used to the Apple way now

I just got a tracking notice for the macbook pro refurb I ordered last night. Expected delivery date is tomorrow. I hope they're right...

That's awesome! I hope that I get an email telling me that mine shipped today! I upgraded to a hi-res display so that is what is holding it up I think.

My first mac is arriving tomorrow...I was planning on waiting at the door all day, but I have to take a physics exam instead....It'll be a nice welcome back present.

Well after a longer than expected wait my refurb 15" 2.44ghz i5 MBP has finally arrived. It is pretty much perfect no scratches or dents. It works just like a brand new MBP. Very excited for our relationship.

Just got my 13' refurb today. No scratches or dents. There is one 2mm nick on the underside, but you cant tell unless you look hard.

Glad I bought a refurb. I also thought the 13' would be to small compared to the 15', but I am finding it to meet my needs perfectly. I saved about $600 by not switching to the 15' and don't regret my decision at all.

I ordered my refurb Macbook Pro on Wednesday and according to Fedex should arrive to me on Saturday.

Apparently it is being shipped from Lewisburg Pennsylvania rather than California.

Im so pumped for my first Mac.

Just got my 1st MBP13

Hi All!

After a year of wanting a MBP I have finally got it! What a wait it was.... I was going to order it from Apple as I remembered them having 0% interest but when I went to order it it was back up to 14%. So hubby had the great idea of applying for an interest free credit card. I had to wait for the paper work etc to go through, which was a pure hell! Soon enough I ordered the MBP13 from Amazon.

It arrived on Friday at my work at 10:30am. I had to wait until 19:30 to start playing with it, pure torture!!!

When I first started playing with it I couldn't believe how different it was to a PC. But different for the better! I have had an iPhone 3GS for 1.5yrs and thats the closest to a Mac I have ever been. I am so glad I bought one, and it was worth the £900 odd price tag.

Just trying to learn my way around OS X now. LOVE IT!!

Claire

Bought my first Mac ever a few weeks ago, needed to get one from my campus bookstore before I graduate (much cheaper!)

Since then, my MacBook Pro 15" and I have begun a torrid love affair. My major involves heavy video production, so finally having a Mac of my own (and not spending hours in the lab at school) has been so amazing. I also bought Final Cut Pro just last week, so it's a powerhouse of a machine.

Only complaint I have is that odd glass/tinkling noise my computer sometimes makes when I brush up against the bottom, but a quick Google search told me it a common flaw among the MCPs.

All in all, couldn't be happier with my purchase :)
