I'll most likely be installing an ssd and more ram later on, maybe just an ssd, don't need the ram as much, but I am exited!!

You're gonna love it. I have been using modern PCs since about '95 when I bought my first one. Last April I got my first Mac and I still love it. I'll never buy anOther PC again.

Your title "I DID IT" brought up an old joke from the "Tell Me Another Joke Book" last seen at my friends house in 1968.

They said it couldn't be done
But I went ahead and did it
I tackled the job that couldn't be done
And by God I couldn't do it.

Enjoy your new Mac... they are really great machines.

When I saw the "I DID IT" title, it instantly reminded me of link from Zelda holding up a macbook pro with the item found music on top of a hill. :)

I just ordered my first mac on Refurb today, 2.4 ghz i5 15". It was either buy this, or wait for the Sandy Bridge refresh on the 13". I decided that the 15" screen would probably be more worth it to me (I'm a programmer and light web designer) over the small performance bump that SB is going to bring. That and the GPU issue that the 13" faces left me discouraged.

Hope it comes by the end of the week!

20 years PC. Just ordered a 2.4 13" MBP to get my feet wet. If it all works out I'll upgrade to a newer one next year and give this one to my soon-to-be high schooler.

One question then...

How much $ have you made/lost with all those... Transactions?

Also I have a 2010 stock MBP13 how much do you think I can get for it 1 month later after the MBP's refresh comes in? thanks.

Just received my new MBP 15"

i7 2.8GHZ, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, Hi-Res Glossy

Also ordered a OCZ V2 120GB SSD, 8GB Crucial Memory & an Optibay. Woohoo.. Already loving this high-res over my previous 13" MBP..

refurb 13"

Well my refurbished 13" macbook pro came in today! I'm typing this on it right now, I have to say I love it! My first ever mac and no regrets. Also I would like to point out apples refurbished quality is amazing! My macbook pro is perfect, there are no scratches or any blemishes of any sort on the macbook itself. And it has the fresh new computer smell to!

I have a co-worker that just got a refurb i3 iMac, after seeing it I know why so many people go for the refurbs, they are just as good as new with a lower cost.

I too just got a refurbished Macbook Pro. I got the 15" 2.53 i5. I also picked up 8gb of ram and installed it myself. All together I paid around $600 less (with taxes added) for this refurbished that looks brand new new, than I would have paid for buying a new machine and going with Apples ram upgrade.

I recently got a white MB refurbished and it is as good as new. It does have some scratches on the lid though.

Finally bit the bullet - 17" i5 MBP on the way

I've been reading the forums on the impending refresh for weeks, and before that all the CDMA Chatter. I know the refresh will probably hit in a matter of a few weeks, but this purchase couldn't wait any longer and I just ordered an MBP 17" with the i5 and the glossy screen a while ago. It will almost certainly get a RAM upgrade as soon as it arrives, but I couldn't justify the larceny that Apple perpetrates on it's customers for memory.

There is a method to my madness in not waiting... My wife has been wanting an MBP, and insists she needs the 17". So, I can 'share' this one with her for a few weeks and then purchase the updated model for myself (not sure if I want a 15 or 17) and make this completely hers. Consider it a gift to myself to do my research and write my dissertation on...

Really excited!!!! It's like having another child!
