Ordered this morning as the store came online:

15in 2.2ghz
256gb SSD
Hi-Res Anti-Glare

I wasn't very excited for the reveal today but after seeing the quad core i7 and the beast GPU in the 2.2ghz I pulled the trigger almost immediately. Got business discount so that took some of the sting out of the upgrades.

Super excited now though for this beast to arrive, I haven't had a new Mac since 2007 and have been using a cheap i3 PC for the last 6 months as my current MBP just couldn't handle the loads anymore. It will be fantastic to turn my Mac back into my day to day machine.

i put in the wrong zip code for the billing address, hence the email delay. just called and changed it...still waiting on the email.

edit: yay got my confirmation!!! CANNOT WAIT!

upgrading from 17inch 2.16ghz Core Duo

to

15inch 2.2ghz i7 with Hi Res Anti-Glare

Almost got the Hi Res Glossy but figured I would regret it at some point.

Just picked up New MacBook Pro

I got the new macbook pro..maxed out. ($2,100)

I had the core duo until i had a problem with it.. then last week i got the i5 macbook pro..
this macbook pro blows both of them out the waters..
this baby is super fast.. Not stuttering what so ever.. It handles everything that u throw at it..

for everybody saying that this upgrade wasnt worth it. I have to disagree

Anyone know if / when the new models are likely to hit the Apple stores?

I've been waiting for the new MBP15, I'm debating swapping my 17" for one of the new 15's with a Hi Res display. I was disappointed until I say they had something bigger than 1440x900 available. Now I'm quite tempted, I figure I can sell off my MBP17 for enough to make the upgrade painless.

Most Apple stores should have the standard config new models in store now. They may or may not all be on display, so you have to ask. Some stores may get a delay shipment on Friday. But almost always by the end of the day on Friday I would suspect that all Apple stores will have the new models in stock. Some of the resellers, such as Best Buy, may not be fully stocked until the weekend.

Just stopped in at my local Best Buy...just to look! Shoulda known. And I just bought the core i7 17" last summer. Damnit!!!! They had EVERY model in stock. Floor dude had no idea they had even launched... Told me they wouldn't see em for a week or two... But just to be sure he'd check in back... Out wheeled a dolly filled with all flavors...13, 15, and 17's. Had to do it. I'm one of the few dudes I know that digs the glossy screen. And I'm a video editor??? Cam the two go hand in hand? U BET! I bought the 17"... And I'm freaking stoked!!!! Going home to set it up and post the other 17 to craigslist:)

Just ordered my 2011 15 inch. Apple gives me an arrival time between 2/28 and 3/4. Those who have experience with Apple's shipping, generally how long does it take to get to your residence. Any chance I'll be getting it Monday?

Just ordered my 2.3GHz Quad 15". I figured I'd rather upgrade the processor than RAM because I could upgrade the RAM aftermarket. :D:D:D

Any advice on a Incase hard shell vs Speck hard shell?

probably a very decent chance, my iMac i7 shipped from China the day after launch, and arrived at my door Monday morning. I was extremely impressed

So I just ordered the 2011 15" MPB 2.2 with high-res glossy screen & free itouch.

My wallet is so light I can't believe it but delivery is due sometime next week.

Despite living in England, I (as an American) still manage the amazing US prices :) And my boyfriend works for Apple at home and won't be using his 25% this year. And has iWork free. So I just ordered...

13" MBP i7, 4gb RAM
750gb hdd
for roundabouts the equivalent of £700.
Including iWork...it'd be over twice that here in the UK...suck it easy VAT. And freaking £428 LogicBoard repair that forced my hand into buying a new machine.

Ordered Today

I ordered the 15" 2.3GHz Quad mbp with 512, SSD drive, 8GB ram, HR anti-glare screen and 27" monitor. I previously ordered the 500 7200 RPM drive, but called and changed it to the 512 SSD drive instead. Since the computer was not in the Prepared for Shipping mode, it was easy to change. Should arrive some time next week.

Just returned my Ultimate 13" MacBook Air for the 2011 15" 2.2ghz MacBook Pro! Can't be happier!

I felt the same when I ordered my iMac. It'll be here before you know it :)

Bought it online? Post your shipping status here!

So I ordered a BTO Macbook Pro 15" earlier this morning, 2.3Ghz 8GM RAM 138GB SSD Hi-Res Glossy. I got expedited shipping and its estimated between March 1-7 for delivery. I just made this thread so others could post their shipping statuses and perhaps post when theirs has shipped so others can expect a timeframe etc.

Bought mine 30 minutes after the online store reopened - added the high-res screen, and the 256GB SSD, and the shipping status is "not yet shipped", and the delivery estimate is Feb 28-March 3.
