I just got the email too saying the 11th too, so ours must be on the same shipment.
I placed an order on launch day too, around noon PST and it shipped (I live in Los Angeles). The expected delivery date said March 2 but it's actually on its way today via FedEx. I ordered the high end 13" MBP though without any upgrades. I wonder why yours changed...
2011 MBP 15" 2.0Ghz hi-res, in the cart!
I just bought a Macbook Pro 15" 2.0Ghz 2011 with hi-res screen option. It is my first Mac purchase and I am pretty excited! I think I will be happy with it. I went to Best Buy yet again today to take one last look at all of the models to make sure it was the one I wanted. I do like how thin the MBP Air was, but as far as performance, and features for what I plan on using it for it would make no sense getting the Air. The 15" is a power house. Every time I went from the 13" screen to the 15" it was like ahhh, that's better.
I guess I am now going to be an official Mac boy! All I have ever used is PC, but I want to switch entirely over to Mac. One Mac, that's it. I am sick of having my work spread out onto 3 different PC's, It is a nightmare. Went to school for computer repair/networking actually, and it's funny because on one side of the room were PC guys, and the other side were Mac users for graphic design. PC people would always talk trash about Mac every day there. It's almost as if they try to brainwash you into thinking PC is better. Mac symbol was like a cross to a vampire with them. Since I have abandon the one piece of software that was strictly Windows, I thought hmm, maybe Mac, and here I am.
I look forward to being on the boards here!

I get this feeling that you can only afford an iPhone yet since you're a huge iPhone fan you really want a MacBook Pro. And since you can't afford said MBP, you bash everyone else that can afford one.

I went for the hi-res glossy. I just got a call from MacMall telling me they had no hi-res screens in that model though. So now I either have to find somewhere else to buy, or get the standard screen.
I am not sure what I will decide now.

If that is the unit you have your heart set on get it somewhere else. Maybe another vendor will price match... The higher resolution is worth it (IMHO).

If the hi-res screen is worth it I will wait. I do not see any places that carry the hi-res screen in the standard 15" model that I can order online tax free from though. I really didn't want to dish out an additional 300 for the higher end model.
I went through macmall to see how much a low end 15" was with hi-res AG and it turned out to be (~$2000), MORE than apple.com with student discount and tax ~$1950 or so. is there a reason why you're not ordering from apple.com? I assume b/c you're not a student?
okay it seemed to have changed now it's abut the same price as apple.com...
