Hi, I have just bought the MBP 15" like you, this is the year for a lot of new Mac users!

Anyones CTO using TNT? I'm assuming TNT is for Australia if Canada gets ups & US gets FedEx.

Mine just shipped last night, shows its at the PuDong International Airport. The apple website is showing the ETA as March 7th but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 4 whole business days to fly from China to Australia unless there is a long customs delay.

For anyone wondering, Ordered 25th (24th for Americans)-> Prepared for shipment on 27th, Shipped 28th.

Ordered on Sunday, 3 days to ship, will arrive next Monday. Maybe they'll be able to get it to shipping today.

The free education iPod Touch arrived today. The printer says it won't ship until the end of March..what...the...heck. I want to eBay that thing asap.

Same for me. iPod Touch out for delivery, printer end of March. Already sold both for $300, so very happy to bring the price down from 2464 (15", 2.2, Hi-Res anti-glare, 128GB - Apple on Campus via online store). Got 8GB RAM from MSY for $112 and selling stock 4GB for $75, so total I paid was only 2464 - 300 - 75 + 112 = 2201. Partner planning us a short trip to Bali so will get GST back on notebook, brings price down even more! :)

Dang, I forgot I could sell the RAM! Well, I'm not considering that until I'm certain that the 3rd party stuff is good.

How have you already sold them? Not through eBay? Can you link that MSY item page for the RAM? I'm getting it from here (since they are a short drive from me):
http://www.itestate.com.au/pages/pr...aces?BeanName=productDetailAction&pcode=08636

MSY is also a short walk from Uni too.

Dam you on that TRS refund! No one I would trust is going overseas yet (also I get the GST back since I'm buying it through a business anyway). This way I could theoretically get the GST back twice :)

The printer just got shipped, should be receiving it tomorrow, considering I only placed my order yesterday night.

Since the country that I'm residing right now is having this agency approval process, I would not be receiving my new MBP till tentatively two weeks later - whereby I would be overseas without my laptop. :(

Hopefully the process would be sorted out ASAP!

The RAM is G.SKILL 4GB DDR3 1333 Notebook RAM. Ben from the Cannington store said that it is very good RAM. Apparently it uses the same chips as OWC RAM so has the same latency/performance settings etc. The RAM in my just sold Macbook Pro is OWC. I am not a fan of Kingston RAM in Macbooks.

My partner just put through an order for a new Macbook Pro a few minutes ago when he saw the final costing of what mine would be.

Ordered cto 15" mbp and 27" display on 24th in the afternoon, changed hard drive and submitted another order for the cto 15" on 2/25 around 7AM. The display was deliverd today (2/28) and the 15" mbp is due to be delivered by 10:30 on 3/02. I selected 2 day shipping, btw. Happy computing everyone!:)

I hate ups the website never updates and when it does shows that its in China or leaving china and delivery date 07.03 I called today and the said that I probably get it by 03.03 or 04.03 I don't know what to believe

I just looked it up after I posted. Is that true about being same as OWC RAM...hmm. There are people here that live by Kingston, but you're the first pro-G-Skill poster. MSY is more convenient than my place. I've still got a week so, I'll ask around. Thanks for the advice.

And congrats to both of you for the new MBPs :)

Awaiting the arrival of my new CTO 13" MBP

2.3GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5
4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400
8x Double-Layer SuperDrive
Country Kit

Ships: 1 - 3 business days
Delivers: Mar 3 - Mar 9

I would have liked the 15 inch but the price difference was not worth it/affordable for me. I mainly use my computer for music production in Logic Pro. The 13 inch has ample cpu power for me. I will eventually bump it to 8GB ram. Also, I will be getting an ssd drive for my applications, moving the 500GB drive to an enclosure. This is not a gaming laptop. If it can play a few games, then that's just bonus.

I haven't used G.Skill before as I usually get my RAM from OWC.

If you placed your order via the AUSTRALIAN store, you would have had the option at the checkout. We currently have the 'back to uni' promotion on as the new university year starts in February/March.

It appears that paperwork goes to Germany ahead of the actual shipment of laptops for customs pre-clearance. If you ignore any lines relating to "brokerage" then that is the actual laptop's progress.

Bought mine today in store

13" MBP 2.3 i5

Walked in, the kid said how can I help you, I said give me one of these...

He asked why *that* one and I said, why not that one? Then I told him why and that I had been waiting for Sandy Bridge. I should've kept my mouth shut.

He says, what's that? I tell him. Then he says that since that's why I wanted it he better make sure SB is actually in there. I tried to tell him it was but he insisted on walking around the store asking everyone who either didn't know or refused to talk about it. I had to press him to just ring it up.

I looooooooove it. I'm coming from a late 2006 2.16 MBP. This seems more than twice as fast. :D

And holy cow is my old CFL screen DARK! This one is bright and contrasty - love it. Love the chicklet keyboard. Ahhhhhh...:p

Mine just arrived in Kazakhstan too :D Interesting route they are taking, Shanghai, China to Incheon, Korea to Almaty, Kazakhstan.
