Just got my Macbook Pro 17" this morning! First Mac, no regrets with going with Antiglare...

Awesome computer! :D

Any heat issues? What are temps like under load or just doing regular browsing?

It's cool with fan speed always around 2000RPM. It's noticeable, but not annoying at all. After playing some minor Minecraft with Intel 3000 HD enabled, the fans are between 2000RPM and 3600RPM and this is the temps:

Still cool on the aluminium.

Ordered my 15'' MBP 2.0ghz i7 quad core today. Should be here hopefully next Thursday or Friday. Stoked!

PS - first apple computer!

So I'm a UKer and ordered my MBP on the 2nd.

Ordered:
13" base MBP
Apple Remote
black neoprene softcase
3 year applecare

My estimated Delivery date is 15-18th March!! This is stupid.

I called Apple up to ask why and they initially said this was because my MBP was not standard and needed to be custom built first.. My only configuration change was that it comes with an Apple Remote!

Any ideas? If I cancel the remote I wonder if I'll get it sooner.. Worst of all, my PC's graphics card melted today! I think it found out I've ordered a Mac ;)

Why don't you cancel and go pick one up at an Apple store?

Probably get it on Monday. Was supposed to get it tomorrow. But FedEx says it needs to sort deliveries before. DAMN! And they won't let me pick it up. It's in Mississauga, ON, less that 20 kms from me and I still can't get it.

Has anyone had any luck with requesting to pick up before a delivery attempt?
UPS wouldn't let me do this yesterday but if you give Fedex a call they might be able to help you.

A success story (apparently rare!)

Hey guys,

I got my MBP at Best Buy two days ago. I've been happy with it ever since. No issues whatsoever.

Cheers,
Devin.

P.S. I just ripped "WALL-E" at an average 112 FPS (currently, not done) and the current ripping FPS is 172 FPS. All-in-all, not even 30 minutes to rip. Woo.

A lot of people have Apple success stories...just not in the MR forums...ahhahahahahaaa j/k;);):D:D

I see people are feeling down lately so I thought I'd spruce up the place! :)

Same here! Still have my old Se/30 works a treat

:D I'll have to pull out my Classic and see if it still works. No reason to think it won't. It came with a full-sized (large, square, padded) backpack with slots for the keyboard and mouse inside. Early portable! LOL

9" monochrome display, 8 MHz processor, 2 MB of RAM (hey this was an option over 1MB!), and a 1.44 MB disk drive with optional 40 MB hard drive. Hot stuff! :D

$1500 new, in 1990 dollars - although I bought it used for $350 with an HP printer. My first computer... Awwwww
/thread...good night folks

I'm happy with my system as well. Though it is having some random heat issues. I'm gonna try to reapply the thermal paste tonight, if no luck, to the Apple Store.

Besides that, the system is 10/10.

/thread.

Since were talking success I must say that I'm highly impressed with my MBP's sound quality. Such an amazing sound coming out of the speakers. BT never sounded this good on notebook speakers.
