Since were talking success I must say that I'm highly impressed with my MBP's sound quality. Such an amazing sound coming out of the speakers. BT never sounded this good on notebook speakers.

People said the 17" had much better speakers...well, I love my 15" speakers. They're not that bad. Perfect for close listening.

My 17'" came today! This thing is sweet...upgraded from a 2009 13". Took a few hours to transfer everything over, but now im good to go and can enjoy it. The screen is BEAUTIFUL and is a huge difference from the 13" My Fiance has a 13" and is jealous lol.

Oh my god~! Mine is now at Memphis!!! I'm in 3 hours from Memphis. I can even pick it up tomorrow!!!:D:D

I hope mine is similar. It also says March 8th but it was shipped yesterday and its already gone Shanghai-Anchorage-Oakland, which is now not too far. If it flies again tonight, it could be here in the morning.

Sweet

I Just ordered My very first MBP i got the Baseline 13", for a while i was thinking of getting the 2010 2.4 but i figured that if there is a complete re-design next year and i do like it the re-sale will be better hence newer tech and a real box which people seem to wierdly find a neccesity :)

Why don't you cancel and go pick one up at an Apple store?

I ordered using some special discount so I can't unfortunately.

Well, it's saying it was dispatched last night at about 1AM but saying the estimated delivery date is still the 18th :(

Oh not good. I imagine that it may be a few days quicker than that estimate.

A new update says mine is on "international shipment release" at Memphis, TN. So, I guess I'm getting it today???!!!

Now my assigned carrier is listed as "NL distribution center" and it's also got a tracking number, but I'm obviously not able to track it until it leaves NL distribution center with a carrier...

Finally got my 15' AG yesterday. Had to almost force FedEd to let me pick it up.

It's awesome!

After reading numerous threads here for weeks and weeks I finally decided it was time to get a new MBP. My current machine is a mid-late 2007 15 MBP 2.2 GHz that I had upgraded with an SSD and HD combination. Although it is still a great machine, I was pining for something new and this newest MBP made me bite.

I went to the Apple Store yesterday with the intent of getting the higher end stock model as I didn't feel like ordering online. That would have been the 2.2 GHz 15" with the glossy regular display. Surprised I was when I saw that they actually had 2.3 ghz models in stock but only paired with the anti-glare high rez. screen. This put me in a dilemma, I had a specific model in mind and I was worried that the HD screen would make certain things at work very hard to read. Our medical software suite runs on Windows, but weren't making a transition over the next half year to running it remotely. I have been told that when you're running in remote desktop mode you cannot alter the size of the font. The font size on this suite is already fairly small and I'm probably not as young as many of you folks as I require progressive lenses to read and see. So I was going back and forth between the two displays trying to see which I preferred. The 2007 MBP I have is glossy, but no where near as glossy as the newest models. To me, it would appear to be a hybrid somewhere between the current glossy and the matte. I prefer my current display's finish to either of the two new ones.

After much going back and forth between pros and cons, I finally decided upon going with the 2.3 ghz model with the matte high rez screen. So far, I've used Migration Assistant to migrate my old settings and apps over to my new MBP and then set my old computer again in target mode to grab my files. Things when quite smoothly and finally I did a Time Machine backup of my new computer. I think it is completely set up now.

I have tried to do remote desktop on my medical software and although much smaller, I can in fact read it pretty comfortably.

Oh, I was pleasantly surprised to get an educational discount. I almost forgot to ask until the salewoman asked if I worked in a corporation that might get a discount. That's when I remembered that I had brought some paperwork showing my status as a lecturer at the University here. I got the discount on the MBP and the Apple Care. Happy camper here today.

Mines At dest sort facility PHOENIX, AZ, which is 2 hours away from me. However, its been at that for the past 4 hours. Either it is on its way up here and it hasn't been updated, or they're leaving it in PHX until monday maybe? Who knows. I'm still watching like a hawk :p

Edit: Go figure 15 minute safter posting that it switches to At local FedEx facility PHOENIX, AZ.

So excite that I might get it today.

Bought my stock 15" 2GHz quad in-store this passed Wednesday. I love it.

Quiet under light to moderate load. Only time I've heard the fans kick up was running Geekbench, which churned out a score of 8857.

This replaced a 2010 13" 2.4GHz and an iMac i7 I had briefly before sendin it back. Sending back the iMac was definitely a good move for me. These new MBPs are awesome.

I purchased the 17" i7 2.2 glossy last week and have five days left to return.
The problem is the apple store did not have any memory to upgrade to 8gig.

At the time of purchase it would of cost me 180.00 more.
I did not think the 2.3 was worth the extra cost.

So I want to go back to the store and see if I can get the additional memory with price adjusted.

Now I am torn between exchanging for the AG screen.

I got the C210a hp printer because they had no epsons. Not sure how good this is, so I have not yet opened it.

Firstly, the basic Epson printer is pretty awesome. I love this printer. I almost didn't get it because I didn't want to be bothered carrying it out of the mall, but I'm glad I went for it. So I'm sure the pricier printers are even sweeter.

Looks like you have a lot of indecision about what you want. As far as the memory goes, just upgrade it yourself. It seriously is a tiny little job. Very easy. You can get 8GB for as little as $82 from Newegg.com.

Is the glossy screen really bothering you? Because it's not a case of one being clearly better than the other, it's more of a preference thing. The glossy screen gives you richer color, but is prone to glare when light reflects off of it. I've been using glossy for the past year, first on my 13", and now on my new 2011 15", and I have no issues with it. I like the black bezel better. I like the richer color better. I find the glass is easier to clean on the glossy too.

Just things to keep in mind. Just decide what you want, and lose any guilt you may have about returning it, or thinking it's a hassle. Because it's not a hassle if you're in your return window, and it's seriously 30 minutes or less of your life that'll be over before you know it.

I agonized over whether or not to return an iMac in order to get the new MBP. And I tried to convince myself I wanted to keep the iMac, but I knew I wanted the MBP, so I finally broke down and returned the iMac on the last possible day. Very glad I did so.

Sounds great! Seems you'll get it today!
Mine stays the same...sad. I don't think I could get it today...:(:(:(

Edit...just noticed that...it's in transit!!! So, a few hours later~~~

Yea, your right.

Also, this MBP is running fine, who knows what I could end up with.

Does buying memory outside of Apple, void warranty?

Glad to hear you like your MBP over the iMac. I was thinking of that also.
