I just got the refurbished 2011 13 macbook pro, I like the trackpad and design. But once I start to use it, I am thinking of return it, cause the resolution is terrible, icon is huge even compare to my wife's macbook air.

finally got my Macbook Pro with Retina Display so I'm happy now. Took me a week but I am enjoying this computer. Is it a bit overkill? Probably since my 11 inch macbook air C2D was doing the job. But I wanted Retina so thus I bought Retina.

My 2.3 + 16gb rMBP came today! It was originally scheduled for delivery on June 2nd, but it shipped early and came today. LOVE it! Beautiful machine.
It takes over 25 days to ship and that's with it shipping early?!? Wow, I wonder how long I'll have to wait for mine after it ships... :( and I live in Canada...

I too am a maxed out orderer (2.7/16/768). I am also in the 2-3 week order range with a 'delivers July 2-9'.

I need some support <tears>

:D

I really hope to wake up tomorrow and see some (mostly mine) making movement.

Ordered the same model on June 11 and mine delivers July 9 - 20. If you think you have tears - I'm crying buckets!

I ordered from Macmall yesterday using Appleinsider's discount. Got the base 2.3 model for $2118 with no tax and free shipping, saved about $200 when considering tax.

Also they said they expect orders of the base to arrive in store this week and said if I preordered yesterday (which I did) I can expect a likely shipment of this week, but by no means anything like the 3-4 weeks Apple is projecting.

Thanks for this thread, I do call apple to get free faster shipping.
Delivers Jul 16 - Jul 20 via 2-3 Business Days , though still long way to go

So I happen to use the computer for about a whole day and all I have to say is I'm loving it!!! The battery is great!! the videos come out great!!! The text is so crisp. And it only gets better with Mountain Lion (hopefully).

This is starting to look like a good purchase and even pictures that are lower resolution still look good enough that it doesn't bother me. It's win!

anyone else like me who have watched the apple promo so many times that you are apple to talk along with the 3 high ranked apple employees? :D

Processing --> Shipped time?

For those that have a rMBP that is either in Shipped status or received it already, what was the delay between when your order went from Processing to Shipped status? days? weeks?

New Old MacBook Pro 2012

I just received my 2012 MacBook Pro (non Retina - the old chassis) and I am very happy with my purchase!
I hope it serves me well for long enough.
Unfortunately I had to settle with the 1440x900 display which is pretty low by today's standards(and I clearly see the pixels, if I stand closer to the screen), but I am very happy nonetheless.
I will put 8GB of RAM and 256 SSD + 1tb WD Scorpio Blue in the Optibay.
It will make the machine even better.
While I was learning the new interface (former Windows user) and doing the regular overview of settings and such I noticed it comes comes preinstalled with Mac OSX Lion, but I didn't see any OS disc or USB flash drive (like with the Airs). And now I wonder how I am going reinstall the OS, when I install the new SSD? Someone have any ideas?
Thanks.

Got new mid-2012 MBP 15 (MD103LL/a), man, it rocks - especially after first generation white MacBook :)

Now I need to upgrade it to 16Gb of RAM (I`m using a lot of virtual machines, for my lab, approx 9-11 win/linux servers) - so it`s a must.

So, if anyone has recommendations for 16Gb modules from Patriot - I can get only them - I`ll appreciate it :)

Thanks everyone, and hope you`ll enjoy your little beasts the same way I enjoy mine!

regards,
NM

Just got home from the apple store on 5th ave

I called the apple store on 5th ave at 12am and the had the Retina MBP, mid level 512ssd and 8gb ram, hopped in the car, got there at 1am was out the door at 145am and now I am migrating over. My wife thinks I am nuts but that's ok

I picked up my rMBP today but we're going on vacation today and I don't have time to set it up. I think that is what they call a first world problem.

Have finished setting my new MBP. I got the 15" classic model. Ordered a 16GB RAM kit and Crucial 512 SSD. Set it all up and this machine is very fast. I really like it. Also, got the glossy screen. So far I really like it.

MBPr

Ordered my Macbook pro retina on the 12. of June. I've been checking in on their order status page and it just changed from processing order to preparing for shipment. I'm SO exicted now, expecting it to ship within the day. I'm having it shipped to Norway, so it might not be comparable. But does anyone have experience with how many days the shipment takes (approx.) ? Thanks :)

Just placed my order today. Went with the 15" base model with the hi-res screen and added a MM. Should have it within 2 weeks (holiday on Wed. interferes some). I can upgrade the memory and add SSD later on if I need to. I may hold off migrating my information over until ML comes out and see if I can't do a clean install of the new OS before I get too deep into ownership.

For anyone looking, if you have a Discover card, you get 5% on your purchase toward your cashback bonus rewards when you order $50 or more from Apple online. You MAY need to go through the Discover site for it to qualify, though the cash out screen appeared to be all Apple.

Hi, i bought the new mbpr a couple weeks ago. It's my first apple machine so i feel like a total noob. It's so weird compared to windows obviously. But I almost got a hang of it. I'm pretty happy with the notebook. Surprised how fast it is.

Got my base Mid 2012 MBP 13" upgraded to 8gb of crucial RAM. And connected to a refurb Thunderbolt Display. Amazing combination I love it!

Picked up my 15" cMBP last night.

It's the $2,199 model with 8GB RAM, 750GB HD, 1GB GPU, etc.

I also got a clear Speck hard shell case, a 750GB external HD, Applecare, One to One, and the $100 App Store gift card for being a student. I think the total student discount was $310 including the App Store card.

I absolutely love this computer. :)

well got the $1799 macbook pro from delaware(save on sales tax), i've had the black macbook since sophomore year of high school now that i'm transferring colleges to a 4 year institution my parents decided to buy me this one. It's amazing. 500Gb HD with 1.5TB external and I have my black macbook still for other things since this will be primary used for school.

Finally decided to order a new MBP.

15"
2.6
High-res antiglare

16GB of RAM and 512GB Samsung 830 will be waiting for it. 25% off, no tax. This will hold me over until the next Retina MacBook Pro.

Hi guys, just about to pull the trigger for my new cMBP however my question is this... Can i buy the top spec cMBP, buy a samsung 830 and then put it into the space where the HDD is now and put the HDD into the optidrive slot....

Or can i just put the ssd in the optidrive slot but use it for the main drive ?

Put the SSD in the optidrive and use it as your main, that will work just fine.
