After long and hard consideration, I ordered a rMBP today! I was really, really torn between the cMBP and the rMBP. ;)
Specs: 256GB / 8GB / 2.6Ghz + AppleCare.

Can't wait to get my hands on it, very much hoping to get a Samsung screen.

Congrats man! Apparently the new laptops are having Samsung displays.

I've ordered the same build as you!

mine went to 'preparing for shipment' this morning. how long is it usually before it ships?

Mine took about a week in total to arrive.

It's being returned though due to dead pixels!

I'm buying one from an Aaple Store today, albeit with 8gb instead of 16gb of ram.

I can't be asked with the rigmarole of ordering online and having to return if there are any issues.

Enjoy!

I just got my MacBook Pro with Retina Display, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD and I love it, it's absolutely amazing!! It does have an LG screen with a small burn in issue but I don't care I never notice it. Btw did anyone notice that the first posts in this thread are from around 2004! It's pretty cool :)

Picking up a MacBook Pro hopefully tomorrow at Menlo Park in NJ. I was going in the afternoon. Think the line will be crazy with the iPhone 5 release? I want to get the back to school gift card offer. It expires Friday. Can't make it there today.

I've just opened up my new MBPr,

15" 2.7GHz with 16GB and 768GB!

It's the first Mac I have ever owned and even though I've only had it one day i absolutely love it!

Just went with the new Macbook Pro 13 2.5GHz, can't wait to get it next wednesday .

Decided to get it over the Mac Mini that I was considering. I get to keep the same setup I already had with my old 2010 Macbook Pro and don't lose the portability.

New Apple user

Hi, first post on this forum so I thought I better introduce myself :)

I have had the MBP for two months now and happy with it so far, the matt screen option was by far the correct decision!

Having used Windows / DOS based OSs in the past this was a start of a new thing for me though I haven't completely cut myself off from Windows as I already have VMWare Fusion for one important piece of software I like to use.

Plan to upgrade the HDD to the Samsung 512GB 830 Series next year sometime when the Apple warranty nears it's end.

Welcome to MacRumors :)
By the way, changing the hard drive in your MacBook Pro will no void your warranty unless you break something.

My RMBP

Apple shipping is the best. I bought my laptop on the 16th with standard shipping, and it arrived on the 21st, 4 days ahead of schedule

Ordering over the weekend sucks... Would've love to pick up from the store, but it wasn't available. At least I saved on the taxes (putting it towards an ssd and ram!!). Should have it by the end of the week (...hopefully)

WOW go 17" go !

Woah -- I convinced so many colleagues and friends, strangers on various forums and students in University -- to consider picking up a 17" refurbished especially the 2.5Ghz anti-glare, and for the past couple of weeks I've noticed numbers going from 114 - now only 4 units left!

I just bought the mid 2012 2.5 13" and paid a princely sum for delivery on saturday.

I'm really pleased I ordered this instead of an iMac, and even more pleased I didn't wait around for an update that is seemingly always 'right around the corner'.

:apple:

I just joined the forum, so I'll start off by saying I ordered my Retina Macbook Pro on June 13th- two days after it came out - which equated to waiting until July 6th for it to get to my house. It's a 2.7/16/768 model. I know I probably didn't *need* all the BTO options, but I have to use it until the end of high school, and that's about 4 years away, so I thought it would be a good idea to future-proof it as much as I could.

It was a replacement for my 2008 macbook (Black/2.4/4GB/250).
This isn't my first apple laptop, and hopefully not my last! c:
