New Macbook 13" 2010

Just got my new mac. It was used, but it is in excellent condition & the owner had a sweet deal going. So far so good, just looking for a hardshell case because I'd like it to remain scratch free.

It is, right? And my order was stuck in awaiting payment for two days. Finally started processing Friday midday. Was yours customised in any way? I changed the screen to anti glare and upped the HDD to a faster one.

I really hope it dispatches Monday. I'm soooo over excited, it's unreal. But I've also realised for the first time today how much money I spent on Wednesday night ordering it. I also regret I didn't up the RAM to 16 GB straight away. Oh well. ;)

Yes, I had it customized to t i7 2.7 GHz with Anti-glare then I upgraded RAM and SSD myself as soon as I got it, The Stock HDD is still unfired.
I couldn't be more satisfied with this cMBP.

Man, the waiting is really getting to me. Feel so silly, lol.

Can't believe my luck. Just got a sleeve for my mbpr at the 99 p store. I already have a laptop bag, but wanted a sleeve for additional protection. £0.99 !!! Forget paying £15 to £25 lol

General question: Is the Apple one-to-one membership worth getting? I've been told I can still buy it within 14 days of the purchase of my machine, as a goodwill gesture. I'm just thinking don't I get the same out of it when I make appointments at the Genius Bar?

I finally unboxed and turned on my new rMBP 64 hours after getting it. I'll bet that's a record here. :D

Why did I wait so long? Well, with all this talk of scroll lags, screen tears, ghosting, dead pixels, etc., I was worried that I might be disappointed. So I thought it would be best if I waited for a quiet and peaceful moment on Sunday for the inaugural launch.

As it turns out, I'm affected by none of the ills which have been associated with this machine. Touch wood that my luck continues.

Status changed at 7:00 am UK time. Now saying shipped and is giving me an estimated delivery date of the 15/10/2012. UPS are the carrier, which I don't like cause they are known for throwing parcels around. Tracking on the UPS tracking page isn't working yet with the number I was given. I hope it'll be delivered earlier.

My MacBook Pro is coming this Monday via China and I can't wait its like being a child again. My spec is:

•2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
•8 GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM -2x4GB
•1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400
•8x Double-Layer SuperDrive
•MBP 15" HR Glossy WS Display
•KYBD/USER'S GUIDE-GBR
•COUNTRY KIT-GBR

Will my MacBook have the Image Retention problem or not?

Less likely as you've been wise enough not to buy the retina screen model

Ontrack when did you purchase your laptop and when did it arrive?

Can a personn ask apple to speed up the process if so how?

I've ordered my customised model on the 02/10/12 and it was dispatched Monday this week. According to UPS scheduled delivery is tomorrow. However the parcel has reached the UK early this morning. Not sure if they would put it out for delivery today already?!

Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to speed up the process. Unless you buy it straight from an Apple store and take it home...

Thanks my laptop just departed Korea at 13:33 Estern Time and thanks to the website I can see where it is etc and the stats are:

Distance: 5857.52miles- Time: 26hrs 53mins 0secs - Avg Speed: 217.89mph, this is quite slow. What happened in Germany as my laptop will be going to Germany as well.

In addition do you know which countries your laptop went to from China.

Mine went from China to Korea to Kazakhstan to Poland to Germany and is now in the UK. Called customer service for UPS and they adviced it still won't be delivered until tomorrow. How ironic. It would take a can 3 hours to get to mine. It travelled all the way from China, now it is such a short distance away, but not in reaching distance for me. :(

PackageMapping.com is a great page to follow your parcel

The route to New Zealand seems a lot shorter! Shanghai -> Sydney -> Auckland -> ME :D

Ordered mine on October 8th.

BTO rMBP 2.6/16/256 Shipped to Store (advised by the EPP sales rep over the phone this could be faster)

Shipped on the 9th and I picked it up at the store yesterday the 11th.

Displayed delivery date was always 10/19 so I was happily suprised by how fast I got it. No need for expedited shipping too.

So far, I love it. Perfect screen, zippy and thinner and lighter than I would've imagined. =)

I had been waiting since the sometime in September for Amazon to get the base model back in stock so I could at least save a bit on sales tax. Finally last Friday they had them in stock and I ordered for next day Saturday delivery so I've had my shiny new rMBP for a week now and love it. I would have got the upgrade to 16GB if I ordered from Apple but I'm very happy with the base model and it will suit my needs just fine. I don't plan on checking to see what kind of screen it has and will be happy as long as it continues to look as good as it looks now. It is a recently built model as it came pre-loaded with all firmware updates and Mountain Lion 8.01. Very impressed so far. :)
