13" 8GB, 256 mid-tier model. Extra magsafe converter for an extra charger I have around. Almost went for the 15", but then decided that I just don't need to pay $500 for the extra screen real estate, especially when what I really need is battery life and ease of carrying/transport.

Top 15" w/ standard configuration. Wallet is currently having epileptic shock. Could be fatal.

Maxed out 13" rMBP.
Yes, I'm officially crazy.

No 15" since I need the portability.
Maxed out because it will be my only computer that will replace my mit 2009 13" MBP.

Not maxed out, would be too expensive. Took 15 inch since it is the only one with a dedicated GPU. Worth it. :)

Ordered the new 13" rMBP:

  • 16GB RAM
  • 2.6GHz Core i5
  • 512GB SSD

Ships in "1-3 days", hopefully arrives by Halloween. Surprisingly I couldn't have it shipped to the Apple Store instead of having to go to the FedEx/UPS warehouse. Oh well.

Same here 13/i7/16GB/512GB. I was also torn between the 15" base +16GB and the maxed out 13" but I prefer the 13 form factor.

Expected delivery 28-30... let's see if it arrives earlier than that!

advice

Im buying the new rMBP, 13", 128 gig ssd, 8 gig of ram

question is:

2,4-GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost tot 2,9 GHz

2,6-GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost tot 3,1 GHz [+ 94,38 €]

needs:
*surfing web
*viewing movies
*office work

So no rendering/developing/..

8 gig is probably overkill for me already, but better be safe than sorry.

I assume i just buy the standard cpu? Thanks for your replies

15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display
$2,575.00

With the following configuration:
• 2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
• 16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
• 512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage

Price is with corporate discount. I was tempted to upgrade the storage, but I have a thunderbolt RAID in my office, so would have been somewhat wsterful. This thing should be in permanent beast mode for my photography workflow with large RAW files.

Hello I just bought (less than 1 hour ago) the same config as you.

No need to change CPU unless you want to go for i7 (and also in this case, why?).

The two i5s are exactly the same processor, with the same cost from intel and a very slight (and unnoticeable) difference in clock speed (that, if you want, you can modify by yourself).

A different thing is the i7, that has a 33% bigger L3 cache and a significantly higher turboboost (but, for rMBP, I think you don't need it).

I bought the 8GB 256GB 13" 2.4 GHz... Ironically the final price (a little below $1500) was almost exactly the same as the Air with the same config I bought a few weeks ago...

Probably going to keep the new MBP but I want to test the battery life situation.

Just order, finally the first Mac machine where I had 0 temptation to upgrade individiual components... either a process of how limited they are or meeting my needs... :)

Hi,

Just ordered the 13" - i7/256/16GB

After the disappointing dGPU on the 15" I instead opted for my favourite form factor of 13" and will be instead building a thunderbolt 2 based external GPU DIY project.

Just ordered... Pretty excited, currently have the late 2008 MacBook aluminim Core 2 Duo.
