Was that an eBay buy or somewhere else because I'd pick that up myself and forget this wait.

I bought my daughter, around 1 month ago, a 2012 13" rMBP in the 2.5/8/256 config for $1150 from Amazon Open Box Warehouse deals. Came in original box, registered March 2013 and had 10 cycles on battery, like new!
Check since they had a few when I bought hers.

I bought my 2012 13" rMBP (2.9/8/768) through an Ebay auction from original owner (all paperwork provided, $2900+ tax) and had 9 cycles, Built to Order on Dec 2012, like new with over $1k of licensed software, 2 chargers and wireless keyboard for $1800

Factory seal torn on refurb MacBook Pro

Just purchased a refurbished 15" MacBook Pro antiglare June 2012 model. Received it on Monday and when I opened the box the factory seal on the cellophane wrapper was already torn open. Has anyone ever had this happen? Everything seems to be fine with the laptop so far but it has me a little worried after spending that much money on it. Called apple and they said it may have been torn during repackaging but I have 14 days to return it no questions asked. I just wonder if anyone could have opened it. Is there any way to tell if someone turned it on and used it. The laptop has 8 gigs of ram instead of 4 that was listed in the specs so it was a pretty good deal. Just not sure what to do. Any comments would be appreciated.

Keep it. Use it. Be happy. Don't get paranoid about the tinniest of things. :)

I may be wrong, but I thought that 8GB RAM was standard on the entry rMBP 15". I've had mine for almost two weeks and am wondering why I didn't transition to Macs a long time ago.

Enjoy your new computer. Refurbish is a great bang for the buck.

It's amazing. So awesome. Loving it way more than my old Mid-2009 Macbook Pro :)

i bought a macbook....

I just read the news. i just ordered a macbook a few days ago. Still waiting for it. Willi get the mavericks update free or will i have to pay for it?

A friend wants to sell me his rMBP 2013, 2.7Ghz, 16GB Ram, 512 SSD for $1500. Do you think it is a decent deal? I know the Haswell version will be likely to come out in a few days, but I may pull a trigger on this. The laptop looks great btw.

Should I wait for the haswell or just take this? I do not have much time since he is leaving the country very soon.

Any advice would be appreciated!

The base price for this system is 2799 not including tax (if tax is added where you're from). A Refurbished one from Apple is going for $2379 on the Apple Store. IN my opinion 1500 is VER good !!! If you don't buy I'll return mine and buy his for that price lol Get apple care on it and run like you just stole something cause at that price you did. Haswelll for the average user is not ground breaking. A few more hours of battery life and a little better graphics might be about it. Most people can't even tell the difference between retina and non retina unless u throw directly in their face lol. Now Broadwell on the other hand might be more noticeable but heck that wont be out for a while. Like I said take the deal cause if u don't somebody else will. Also if u decide to resell it u could basically break even on the deal. Win win in my opinion..

Take it! Just bought the same version and it's excelent!

And 1500$ it's not enough even for the base model with haswell.

If you don't want it, I'll take it :p.

That's a very good price.

Hello, I have been reading Mac Rumors for a while now and finally decided to make an account since I just purchased my first refurbished Mac Book Pro (my first Mac computer), I am excited to get it will be here Friday. I purchased a Refurbished 15.4-inch MacBook Pro 2.6GHz Quad-core Intel i7 for $1819.00 it was originally released June 2012. It has 8GB of Ram, 750 GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm, 2.6 GHz Quad core i7 processor. (I purchased this from Apple.com)

I was wondering if this was a pretty good deal?

Thank you all in advance for the help and the wealth of information you all have given.

So, do you have it already? :D

I am typing on it right now. Man it is easily the best laptop (the most expensive also) I have ever used. However, the fan noise seems a little bit loud, even even on running simple tasks like netflix only. I am not sure if that is a common thing for rMBP?

Im a shopper and with sites like macrumor it just dosent make sense to pay retail (given the circumstance) when you can score deals saving you hundreds of $$. Im far from a high salary income so savings is hella important to me.

Feb 2013 13 inch rmbp 8gb/256 model for 1200$. Purchased on ebay. Loving it so far. (Upgraded from 06 macbook lol) difference is extreme.

Anyone else getting an iPad this Tuesday? I'm hoping to upgrade mine from 16GB, but still concerned over the problem with the ipad 3 and how quickly they got replaced since that model was not ready for prime time.

What is the likelihood that the new models will have increased capacity? A 256GB ipad would be nice. :D

What was wrong with the iPad 3?
