I'm testing the latest RMBP 15" and it appears there are sleep/wake up issues with it like in this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5492671
Could others confirm whether they also have this issue?
This command allows to browse how often a mac is being waken up during its sleep:
pmset -g log | grep DarkWake | less
Press space / 'b' to browse the results which for me looks like this:
9.11.2013, 15:04:25 CET DarkWake DarkWake [CDNP] due to EC.DarkPME/Maintenance: Using AC (Charge:100%) 28 secs
19.11.2013, 15:05:29 CET DarkWake DarkWake [CDNP] due to EC.DarkPME/Maintenance: Using AC (Charge:100%) 28 secs
19.11.2013, 15:06:35 CET DarkWake DarkWake [CDNP] due to EC.DarkPME/Maintenance: Using AC (Charge:100%) 8 secs
19.11.2013, 15:07:01 CET DarkWake DarkWake [CDNP] due to EC.DarkPME/Maintenance: Using AC (Charge:100%) 28 secs
19.11.2013, 15:07:47 CET DarkWake DarkWake [CDNP] due to EC.DarkPME/Maintenance: Using AC (Charge:100%) 13 secs
19.11.2013, 15:08:14 CET DarkWake DarkWake [CDNP] due to EC.DarkPME/Maintenance: Using AC (Charge:100%) 7 secs
19.11.2013, 15:08:38 CET DarkWake DarkWake [CDNP] due to EC.DarkPME/Maintenance: Using AC (Charge:100%) 8 secs
As you can see the event occurs every dozen seconds which is odd and annoying…

Ordered this morning, shipped this evening: base 15" rMBP (2.0 GHz / 8 GB / 256 GB). I love my current mid 2012 but a bright spot popped out recently, time to go. Plus, I always wanted a MBP with an iGPU and no dGPU. Looking forward to the improved battery life and even faster SSD.

Sold my MBA and ordered a 13" rMBP with i5/8GB/256GB config.

ETA delivery is 2-4th December, urgh, I hate waiting but at least I have my ThinkPad X200 to use until then.

Is this off the Apple store? I always check for the 13" rMBP and they are always out.

Quick question. What does the 2.0ghz late Macbook pro compare to the Early 2013 models? 2.4 or 2.7?

Just ordered my first Mac ever, after years of umming and ahhing over getting one. I finally need a new computer.

Got the mid range rMBP - 13", 256gb, 8gb ram. Now just waiting for my order to process and be shipped to me! :)

You wont be disappointing, I only started using a mac about a year ago, and the learning curve is very short. You will never want to go back to windows again. :apple:

Hmm... Changed my mind, will have to return . Switching to iMac (with two external monitors) + iPad.

Forgot this was here. What the hell. *shrugs*

Mid-2012 15" MacBook Pro

2.7 GHz i7
1 TB HDD
GeForce 650M 1 GB
16 GB RAM
Hi-Res antiglare display

Came with VMWare and Windows 7 too which is nice.

Got on eBay for $1600.

I've bought a second MacBook Pro from the 2013 late models, this time the 15inch Ultimate, I've been very please with my recent 2013 late 13inch 16/i7/512. So now the 13inch will be used for work and travel use, and using the 15inch Ultimate for home use, keeping me out of my office where I spent most nights annoying my other half on my imac and two thunderbolt displays setup. So now I can sit with the Misses watching TV and still update my photography photos and websites. It's a win win ;)

My 15inch Ultimate due this Friday :D Happy Days

So the max out is now re-labeled as the ultimate ??

Enjoy !!!! :D:D

When did you place your order? I ordered the exact same model/configuration on Nov 12th, so I'm trying to figure out when it will actually arrive considering that the shipping times have now been reduced back to 1-2 weeks.
Thanks!

I ordered mine on November 5th. The website said it would take about 2 weeks to ship and finally got it yesterday. I called apple last week and asked them if they could expedite my shipment and they did for 2 day delivery.

Options options options

So...I've just dumped my macbook air 11" 1.8i7 (4gb, 256ssd) because it's not 'quite' up to it for the RAW image processing I do today...and I wanted something new because I'm a technogeek..

Due to all the debate around what processors and memory combinations to get I ordered myself a 13" Macbook Pro 2.6i5, 16gb, 512ssd...but the order time is around 1-2 weeks..I wasn't too sure if I really needed 16gb but thought it was future proofing..

but then I got to thinking that I generally upgrade every 2 years anyhow so why future proof and I'll not knowing what will be out there in two years but knowing it would be a must have then maybe i went too far??

Well I walked into the Apple store today and got talking to one of their reps who reckoned I wouldn't need the 16gb but gave the option to buy the 8gb version today and then IF it wasn't up to scratch over the next 14 days to bring it back for free by which time the other one would be here..strangely they had the 2.8ghz version in stock so I took that one..If I find it's ok then I'll cancel the one I have on order...
..
I'll let you know how I get on with the 8gb version..
