My new rMBP left Osaka and is (I think) crossing the Pacific as we speak. Given the scan time I'm thinking it's on FX26 bound for Anchorage....which means it should clear US customs today and I guess they'll put it on an overnight to Oakland or Memphis, although flying it all the way to the East Coast just to fly it about 80% of the way back makes no sense.

They couldn't have just put it on the nonstop to Oakland then flown it from Oakland to Portland!?!?!?!?

Mine was on the same flight - just arrived in AK a few minutes ago... :)

Turns out mine was on FX24 bound for Memphis. It left Memphis at ~4AM local time, which means it's on either FX1468 bound for Oakland or FX1480 bound for Portland. Either way, it looks like I'll get mine today....

Given that FX1480 left at 4:06 this morning, I'm thinking it's on the nonstop.

Mine will probably hang out in Memphis until the 3am or 4am flight to Boston now. I still think it might be here quicker if I keep refreshing that tracking site...

If FedEx's estimates are accurate, mine will hang out at PDX until tomorrow morning when they'll put it on a truck to the local FedEx location.

Bought a 15" MBP in HK. Flawless screen and no creaking. This screen is godly!

Ordered my 13" rMBP 16gb 2.6 on 25th November. It missed the original delivery window by a mile, and was finally dispatched on 12th December. It's currently sitting in Germany waiting an import scan. Scheduled for Weds delivery to UK. Waiting is unbearable!

It arrived today, and I'm in love! Hope everyone else still waiting get theirs soon :)

Took the last hop (MEM-BOS) this afternoon.
If it doesn't get stolen in East Boston (chances are pretty high over there), I'll have it tomorrow :)
Hope they deliver it in the morning already.

I picked mine up earlier this afternoon. The display is just....beautiful. :D

Enjoy it! Mine is still tingling around Boston on a fedex truck.

Also just discovered that safari on my old mbp is slower than on my iPad air - really time to upgrade...

Now that I have a new MBPr I gotta get my old MBP ready to sell lol once I migrate all my files over. :D

Would upgrading my late 2011 2.8 to 8GB RAM be worth it for resale?

Ordered a rMBP the other day, thinking I would get it before christmas, but estimated delivery is only in 2014. :(

Any other people who have ordered this week and earlier ETA's?

Picked up a new rMBP 13" 2.4ghz with 8gb ram yesterday. Upgrading from a 2010 Macbook Air (2gb - yuk!) - and boy is it an upgrade!

The screen is stunning and overall is soooo much faster.

Have a 2012 quad core i7 mac mini with 16gb but at the moment this beauty feels faster (of course...that amazing new machine speed always seems to fade however diligent one is to keep it clean).

That's a nice Xmas present.

I have gone from mac to pc a couple of times now but now i am officially back on mac and back for good i had enough of microsoft and their amazing windows 8 which i had to google how to turn the computer off!
Got my new 15" macbook pro top of the line spec a few days ago and so far i am in love

Just got new macbook pro 13 non-retina. First mac computer , used them in the past for school/work. Long time windows user but windows 8 did it for me. ;)

Gave my wife my Macbook Air 11" today for Christmas (sort of a cheat, but she got other stuff too!) and ordered a rMBP 13" for myself.

Of course, being Christmas Day, my order is just sitting on "processing", and will be until Friday I guess.

*shakes fist*

:D

As a Christmas present to myself today, I ordered a 15-inch with Retina Display MacBook Pro. Here are the specs:

2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
16GB 1600MHz
1TB Flash Storage

It should be shipping to me from the 3rd to the 7th. Cannot wait to get it in the mail! My most expensive purchase yet, but so well worth it. I need a laptop that I could rely on and I have no doubt that this will work out for me!

for $999 this computer is well worth it, assuming you did the student pricing

Considering rMBP purchase. Due to aging eyes, it will need to be 15", I'd probably look at 17's if they still made them. I've read through the past 30 days posts here.

Thinking of 16MB ram/512 ssd. I haven't decided on processor options as I am not convinced that a few tenths in cpu speed is going to be noticable.

I'm interested in long term use.....among the pile of computers laying around here I still have a PIII up & running.

This computer will be for my wife, currently using XP on old Dell laptop and it just can't do the job anymore. She is mostly into youtube, browsing, email, music. Nothing involving heavy graphical qualities that Apple is known for.

Been looking at the Apple refurb's for retina display but they seem a bit older - mid 2012's, sometimes early 13's.

I don't really know the difference in quad-core MBP hardware between now and a year ago except that a new rMBP supports 802.11ac. What else might be lacking in a refurb model that a new model would have?

Why should I be interested in APP? I can get 'tech support' on the web and so that leaves an extra 2 yrs parts warranty. Seem's pricey for an 'extended warranty'. And I wonder if the parts are pro-rated for wear & tear.

I'm more than a month away from buying and looking for some ideas.

thanks, jon

Just got the rmbp in my sig for Christmas.

Opened it up and the trackpad creaks, there's yellow tint, image retention, wi-fi doesn't work, there's UI lag on Safari, the dGPU is worse than on the 2012 rmbp, the graphics switching doesn't work, battery life is terrible, the CPU overheats too much, I don't know if I should have bought the 8gb ram model or 2.6ghz model, I'm not sure Applecare was worth it, the anandtech review isn't out yet, I can't upgrade the ram or drive, I shorted out the magsafe plug after spilling coke into the keyboard and speaker grill, and I don't have a grain of rice in the house because I dropped my last bag of it along with the macbook on the kitchen floor.

Just kidding. On everything. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
