Took my 13" back for a 15". The compactness of the 13 was nice but the extra 2" of screen is huge.

The 15" feels snappier too. I don't know if it's all in my head after reading the thread about UI lag with the 13" but it does feel noticeable, and I didn't think there was anything wrong with the 13 while I had it, but yea it does seem noticeable between the two.

A few weeks with my refurb early-2011 15" MBP!!

Upgraded from a mid-2009 13" MBP. I can feel the UI faster and everything loading better. Of course 3D stuff like games and video editing feels A LOT better.

very small light bleed on the left and right down corners. is a reason for a return? any chance to get a perfect at all rMBP late 2013?

If otherwise it is perfect (not visible under normal conditions, no IR) I wouldn't bother as you may get another one that may be worst. Option may be to buy second unit in store if your config they have it in stock and then just keep the best one.

The "I just ordered / bought / got my new/refurb MBP" threads, merged

Under normal conditions is perfect. Realise only after testing with the video. And only if dark room and black video. No important but embarrasing for a machine tha cost me 2000GBP

I ordered a 13" MacBook Pro Retina on Thursday (2nd). I got a good deal on 2.4-16-256, only paid £1212 (HE Education discount through my job).

Can anyone in the UK answer 2 questions for me please? Are UPS the couriers here in the UK? And secondly, is there a small chance it might arrive slightly earlier than estimated delivery? My estimate is 13-15th and I'm back to work then. Any chance it could arrive on Friday 10th?

Bought my 13" MacBook Pro Retina on Jan. 1st, specs are 2.4GHz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD.

Current status is Preparing for Shipment - Available to Ship 3-5 Business Days & Delivers Jan 10 - 14. (Status Changed on Friday to Preparing to Ship)

Any idea when it will ship and deliver based on anyone else's experience? Really hoping it comes in this week, I'm so impatient lol

When did yours change to Preparing for Shipment? I've ordered the same configuration as you but a day later.

I bought my iPhone 5s though Apple and the delivery ended up being 3 days earlier than estimated delivery. I'm hoping for the same with my MacBook Pro. I'll be happy if it comes Fri 10th.

Oh my God! I just got a notification from apple saying that my laptop is delivering today! I was expecting it for Monday! The anticipation is killing me! I cannot wait to hear that doorbell ring so I could finally get my baby in my hands!

Well, due to the snow storm we had that day, it didn't end up getting delivered and it has been sitting at the FedEx location for the past few days. Today is the expected delivery day and it says on the site that it'll be delivered by 8PM tonight. I don't know if I could wait that long. I'm so tempted to go pick it up at the location, but it's raining and I don't have a car so I'll be traveling by bus. Oh man, the anticipation is killing me! I don't know what to do! I'll be getting my laptop soon enough, but I just want it to be here already! It's been a very, very long wait!

I finally got my laptop in the mail! I'm so excited! Though I won't be able to play with it just yet since I'm going to my boyfriend's house but I have something to look forward to tomorrow after work! I cannot wait to start this baby up and see how incredible it runs!

It changed to preparing for shipment on Friday afternoon, I got email notification that is shipped today and is expected to be delivered Jan. 10 (Friday).

Ive read that a lot of people receive it earlier (about a day earlier) than the stated date. Hopefully I will too!

It's left Shanghai, China!

Received my 13"MBP today. 16GB RAM, 2.8GHz i7. Blazingly fast, gorgeous screen, looks flawless. No complaints other than how long I had to wait!

Finally mine has moved to Preparing for Shipment. I'm hoping it dispatches later today so I'll have some chance of receiving it on Friday 10th.

I bet yours goes out for delivery tomorrow. :D

Ordered mine 13" 256/8gb rMBP yesterday :D and it shipped today. Delivers on 14th Jan-long wait, am sure it will be a super awesome experience with this one as I have had with my MBA.

Mine shipped today. Delivery will be Thursday 9th according to UPS tracking. Apple gave estimated delivery between 13th-15th so I'm pleasantly surprised.

Lots of refurbished rMBPs in the Apple Store. Got a 2.6GHz/8GB/512GB model for $1,899. Praying it has an extra 8GB as a surprise/gift. If too much space on SSD, will get the 2.4GHz/8GB/256GB for $1,659. It has 1GB GT 650M.

Or maybe the 2.6GHz/16GB/512GB for $2,079. Having an internal debate about memory (8GB vs. 16GB).

If you're I've the situation of debating 16 vs 8, then you'll want the 16 or you will be second guessing for as long as you own it.

About to buy high end 15"

Hello everyone. Figured I'll post here instead of creating a new thread.

I have some questions before I make my purchase... The reason I want the high end, is of course to future proof, but also so that I can enjoy a bit of gaming through bootcamp.

First of all, is it extremely complicated to install windows? Can anyone link me to a good tutorial? Which is best, W7 or W8 in terms of drivers? Previously the GT750m had extreme issues with drivers. Are they resolved now or will I have to tinker my way around it?

My second question is about whether or not OS X needs virus protection. I'm considering downloading around two movies a week.

The final question is about how performance is affected by having 2 operating systems. I was thinking of partitioning 300GB for windows and the rest to OS X.

1 - No. Bootcamp assistant will work. Treat yourself to a shiny new USB 3.0 drive to make this easier. There's a thread here somewhere... https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1671442/

2 - Not really. Even on windows I never had virus protection and was fine. Don't download something if you don't know where it came from. Use standard porn websites etc. etc. TL;DR - No.

3 - The only 'performance' limitation you'll run into is that you have less storage space. Diff OS's don't affect hardware. Certain things will run better on OSX, some things better on windows. Having two OSs will not affect how one program runs on OSX, though, for example.

Haven't been on here for a looooooooong time. May I ask are you in the UK cause mines meant to arrive today but it's in Kazakhstan and UPS are still stating that it will be delivered by the end of today
