I ordered my 2.3 ghz/ 16 gig/ 256/ iris pro only rmbp and i'm looking foward to it :)

(I don't think I need more then the Iris pro)

Here in Belgium, there's never a mac in the refurbished store, only ipads and ipods.

Apple refurbs are good as new... use that $130 towards AppleCare from B&H Photo :)

Thanks, never bought refurbs before but tempted by the good price. Great that Apple has the 14 days return guarantee that we can try machines out and see if they work well.

Also ordered a fully loaded new 13.3 retina with i7/16g/512g in case the refurb is defective. Will return the new one if the refurb is good.

Thats why there is so many refurbs.

Anyone know how accurate UPS scheduled delivery dates are?

My rMBP is already in the UK, two hours from me, clearing customs.

UPS says scheduled delivery Wednesday, however if it clears customs tonight, I don't see why it wouldn't be delivered tomorrow.

Ordered my 15" yesterday morning, fully equipped SSD and largest CPU on the most expensive choice :D looking forward to video editing on this beast :)

(should arrive in about a week)
Shanghai dispatch...2 days is UPS' estimate, I'm thrilled :D

I had some issues with my payment, so it's actually going to be here 6 days after I made the payment (If Wednesday is correct, Apple aimed for Friday)

Just chiming in to say that I'm very satisfied with my refurb! It's in perfect condition and I found out this weekend that I have an A20 screen which doesn't exhibit any flaws.

Just ordered a rMBP 2.6ghz/16gb/512. Couldn't get a refurb so I used my corp discount. I'm like a kid waiting to open presents on his birthday!!!

Just ordered the same machine from MacMall. First order from them, and it was not as smooth as I am used to from other vendors.

Ordered it with a Samsung DVD drive and when I got to the cart/Order page it gave me the options of
Proceed to checkout
Checkout with PayPal
Checkout with Amazon

I am a LONG time, registered, verified user with Paypal from my old EBay days, so I clicked that. Sent me to PP to verify the order, I clicked thru like normal. Took me back to MacMall, and I clicked Place Order.

Site paused for a couple seconds and then told me that PP refused the charge, I had to pick another pay method.

At the same time, I got an email from PP telling me that my charge was approved and PP was awaiting confirmation from MacMall.

WTF?

So I called MacMall, and after 30 mins or so, wound up doing a phone order with the same credit card, and hoping I won't have 2 charges on the card.

MacMall said that they can only take credit cards from my order.

Really? Then why does your website give me the PP and Anazon choices?

Anyway, hope things go smoothly from here and I get the beast soon.

i couldn't sleep, so i finally ordered a refurb MBPr 2.6/i7/1TB! my 2008 unibody is on it's last legs.

so with that said, is there anything i should be looking for when i receive it? aside from any cosmetic damages, of course. never purchased a refurb from Apple before.

thanks in advance!

I just received my used rMBP 15", my last one was from 05' and it was a 13" white MB. It has been a long while and very well deserved! I am very happy, plus it is a mid 2012 with samsung screen so very happy about that as well!!!

Just want to know how simple it is to upgrade to 10.9.

Thanks and its great to be back!

Nice, they are $4099 new in Australia. No late 2013 refurbs here yet?

Guys, just registered to ask this -

http://store.apple.com/us/product/F...-23ghz-quad-core-intel-i7-with-retina-display

Should I buy this? I really don't want any cosmetic imperfections. Has anyone had any issues with refurbs?

I'm not from the US but I will be sending the laptop from there to my country.

Is it worth it?

Hi!

I'm also not from USA, but a friend of mine bought me a refurb rMBP 13.3" from Apple Store and when he recieved it, he said it was as good as a new product. It had any imperfection, only 2 battery cycles and everything was fine! He said if the outer box wasn't different, he would have thought it was a brand new rMBP. So , I strongly advise you to buy refubished!

Thank you so much for replying!

Has anyone seen any physical imperfections?

Placed my order yesterday for rMBP 2.6ghz/16gb/512 with edu discount. Upgrading from my Mid-2011 MBA, can't wait. At least to get a shipping notification. Or a "hey, we've finally built it" notification. ;)

I will get a new retina macbook pro 15 late 2013, in the next weeks.

I have a bootable image of all my old 'mac' system, which I took using the marvelous backup application 'superduper', from my previous mbp.

I know that I can 'copy' my system, from external hard disk, to the new mbp.

I have heard many stories about what is better to do, keep using the compatible-older osx setup in new machine, or setup everything from the start.

Many say that it is like 'format' procedure of ms windows, you just have to do it when you get a new machine, in order to be sure you will not have problems in the future.

Others say that this is not needed in mac platform. Osx can run from one apple computer to another, and adapt itself accordingly.

The question is 'new setup from the start' or 'copy existing setup from the older mac and be up and running in 20 minutes'.

Of course, new setup, needs some time, and find out how to customize the whole environment as you want, some apps need installation etc.

I want your experiences and suggestions.

just got my refurb 2012 15 inch macbook pro with the hi res anti glare screen today, has the 2.3ghz core i7 and I've already put in my samsung eve 840 that is only a month and a half old from my 2010 and installed a fresh copy of mavericks and installed 16gb of ram, already the fastest and best computer i have ever owned, now just gotta sell my 2010...

What features I will gain, migrating from early 2011 model to late 2013 model?
usb3, retina, faster cpu, faster graphics...
.... what else ?
