Picked up a late 2013 rmbp 13.3 2.4/8/256 open box from Best Buy marked down 200 from retail. Added the student discount for a total savings of about 350! Best part is, it was a damaged box only. The machine had never been turned on so I still received the full 1 year warranty:) What a sweet machine this is!

Checked out Refurb 15.4-inch rMBP 2.3GHz Quad-core i7 last night.
Had a nervous moment this morning, cancelled, then tried to reorder right now and Apple have placed a hold on the funds on my Credit Card, so I can't!
Serves me right obviously.

Upgrading a 2011 15"MBP (8,2) for the better screen, so under no time pressure beyond the falling value of that (good job too!)

Just ordered a refurb 2012 retina with the 2.6 and 512 GB disk, this is my second mac, coming from a 2007 aluminum imac thats still going strong haha but i bet ill feel the difference :) cant stop checking the ups tracker!

I know I'll get some groans about my purchase but it fits my situation and that's really all that matters but I upgraded my 2007 Black Macbook with the cMBP using a education discount. My old MB had served me well until I recently went back to school and took a class online. While it performed well, it struggled a bit and the disc drive had been broken for awhile. I wanted a built in drive because I do carry my laptop on trips and vacations back home and regularly burn DVD's and from time to time a cd-rw. I will upgrade to 16mb of RAM and an SSD.
I did go back and forth over the retina screen, and that was the only thing I went back and forth about but in the end the big thing was that I had a LASIK procedure go wrong two years ago, and after 6 surgeries, my vision wasn't restored to 20/20. I'll never have 20/20 again, even with glasses but it will be close. Not close enough to enjoy a retina screen for all it's beauty as I struggle now with slight double vision (the severity fluctuates) and dry eyes. I couldn't justify the extra money for an rMBP. I see good enough to do work on a computer, on my best days very close to 20/20, but not quite, and some days I can't even look at my phone, much less a computer screen. I'm thankful for the .edu discount and proud to have been a mac user since 2001!

My new MacBook Pro retina 13 inch arrived yesterday.. It's seven years since I last bought my white MacBook and the times have changed!
Obviously I was a bit naive. I had no idea there was no dvd drive on the retina macbook pro's and I presume I now need to buy a usb superdrive to transfer my precious files from my old macbook.
Also, to my dismay, I can't connect my broadband router to the new machine. The cable doesn't fit! Is the answer to purchase a Thunderbolt ethernet connector?
I would appreciate it, before I purchase these products, if someone would confirm for me that I'll be able to connect my broadband router and transfer my files over? Thanks heaps.

I might be wrong, but you might/should be able to connect both Macbooks via ethernet cable. Or boot the old macbook into target mode and get the files off it that way

Just got refurb 15" late 2013 fully optioned, glad I read this thread is first refurb Ive bought won't be the last. Is spotless.
1 happy camper.:D

Hi... recently I have bought a MBPr Late 2013 8/512GB (current model) from a pre owner. I am a Mac convert and has been a PC user for many years.I have a budget and didn't want to spend too much for a new Mac. Initially, my intention was to get a MBPr 8/256 a refurb set from Apple. But I happen to chance upon a website where people sell their used Macs. Ex-owner bought 6 months ago in late 2013 and c/w 3 yrs warranty. Based on the specs, I have paid slightly one third less versus the new set and the only drawback is a 6 months old. Do you you think it was wise choice? If you were me, will you do like wise? I know there are many great opinions here and would love to hear them. Fyi, the condition of the MBPr is in great shape 10/10 rating. I have checked that the batt cycle is 44 when I bought it. The reason that I was motivated to buy because the price was very attractive based on the configurations and inclusive of extended warranty (Checked). It will be almost the same price if I buy from Apple for the 8/256 refurb set. Your kind opinion will be greatly appreciated, thank you! :)

Purchased a Late 2013 13" rMBP 8GB/512GB at a 15% off sale.

I've loved the 11" MBA, and thought I could use it as my main and only computer. But after 6-7 months, I found that for anything other than internet browsing and listening to music, that it can be a bit of a pain. Also, I had the 256GB model and was running out of storage.

I considered the 15", and even the 15" with dedicated GPU but realised it was way overkill.

I've had the 13" for 24 hours, and I'm absolutely loving it. The Retina display really is fantastic, but am running it at 1440 x 900 (Well 'Looks Like') and I'm loving the extra real estate, which I've really really missed.

Now time to restore and sell the 11" and reclaim some of the money spent. Will be sad to see her go.

Got the 13" rMBP 8gb/256gb last night from Best Buy. It was originally 1499, I used the $150 student discount and a 10% movers coupon for $285 off. Price was $1,214 plus tax!

They are $75 off this week so you might want to go back and have them change that ;)

I bought the same one from Bestbuy on friday w/o mover's coupon but ended up returning it because I decided to go with the 15" 2.3/512gb version later this week

Thanks for the heads up, how would I go about this? I paid with a credit card and used both of those coupons do you think they would still honor it?

you should be able to take your reciept in and at the VERY least get a $75 store credit

Just picked up a hell of a deal. Bought a 13 inch Air last week on the BB sale and went tonight to get either another Air or the base model rMBP for my wife. Was considering the Air till we realized the rMBP was on sale for 1234.99. Plus 150 student discount, had another movers coupon plus the associate was cool and had another coupon for 5 percent off that he scanned! Total for rMBP was 946 plus tax. A rMBP for under a grand? Yes please! Wife actually is digging the Air and I am loving this retina screen that I thought I could live without. Looks like I will be keeping the rMBP for myself!

Just got my refurb rMBP 13. i5, 256GB SSD Late 2013, this thing is honestly great.
Have bought refurb iPods in the past so there was no second thought about a refurb macbook.

The flimsy build of my Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook had me searching for another laptop after owning it for a year. Fighting with Samsung for repairs under warranty was also fun.

I searched for an equivalent ultrabook here in Australia. Closest was an ASUS Vivobook, but unless I was ready to part with atleast $2000, Apple was the best option....plus I've always liked the build quality.

As a Windows 8.1 user, this is the nicest laptop i've used.
Have booted into OS X once to setup bootcamp ;)

I've finally bought a rMBP 15" base model. It's an amazing laptop, I fell in love instantly with the display.

The machine is awesome, it flyes, even with heavy Photoshop tasks.

I'm really happy with it.

Ordered the Refurbished, Late 2013 13" rMBP with 8gb Ram and 256gb SSD.

Will be here on Tuesday 7/1. :)

Just updated my MacBook Pro 13" late 2011 to a new, top of the line, 15" retina! It feels nice to be able to run illustrator with SPEED now! While I was at best buy, I also bought a new printer. Its an HP office pro x476. They say it is better than an laser and actually foot quality printing, I guess we will find out soon enough on that. With the total discount, I saved $580! I was happy! Now to find a bag for it!

Finally pulled the trigger and got me a MBPr i5/8G/256.

I used the college discount and tried the 10% movers, but the fine print on the college coupon says " Coupon cannot be combined with other coupons or offer". BB changed the policy on stacking coupons:mad:

BB is just $5 more than the same model/spec in Apple Refurb store. So i just. grabbed it and got it over with.

Now i have to learn how to use this pretty thing!
