My new 13-inch rMPB will be delivered in the morning. MacBook Pro 13" (Early 2015) i5/2.7 GHz, 8GB, 128SSD. I also got a 4k display Dell P2715Q.

MacBook Pro 13" (Early 2015) i5/2.7 GHz, 8GB, 256SSD, just got delivered! Upgrade from Mid 2009 cMBP, man this thing is light and fast! Glad i waited this long to upgrade!

10% Discount from BestBuy

Replacing an early 2008 white MacBook (!). First got a 2014 refurbished but eventually decided to go for 2015 256GB 13"rMBP after the nice guy from BestBuy offered a 10% discount and 12 months zero-interest financing. Sold!

After looking around for weeks waiting for an update I pulled the trigger and bought a rMBP 15", 16GB, 512 SSD, NVIDIA GT 750M.

I love it! My fully loaded iMac 2009 with SSD upgrade was getting too old and I needed something to carry home working on projects after works - for the day I am lucky to have a Thunderbold Display in my office ;-) Really a great combo!

This MacBook is ultra fast compared to my iMac BUT unfortunately it came with preinstalled Yosemite. No way!
Graphic glitches when changing the dGPU / iGPU, slow windows.. I worked with it yesterday for about 18 hours - using the machine itself was fun but Yosemite sucks in GPU switching with scaled resolutions.

Booting the new machine the first time in Yosemite did result in an hangup deselecting FileVault so I had to do a reset beginning from scratch. No good feeling with a new Computer ;-)

So this morning I made a clean install with Mavericks - WOW! What a different. No more graphic glitches, fast unser interface ...

BTW Yosemite would be a reason for me not to buy a Skylake rMPB in the future...

I JUST did the exact same thing, upgraded from the late 13 also. Have you used it yet? Mine is currently copying from my ex Hd. Let me know what you think as I can hardly wait!

I was however fortunate to use the education discount.

I hope you're enjoying your new computer. This morning Apple shows mine has shipped and will arrive April 1st instead of April 6th. Great a $2,200 computer arrives on April Fools Day. what could go wrong?

My 13" MBP came in yesterday and I am loving it. The force touch trackpad really feels like you're clicking a button. It is really freaky.....

I am coming from a pre-unibody 17" MBP and the build quality is freaking night and day. Though the 17" MBP design dates back 9 years before the current 13" unibodies design when the 17" Powerbook G4 debuted.

Battery life is amazing so far as well. Just doing light web surfing, the counter hovers between 10-12 hours remaining.

I went to the store yesterday to look at Force Touch, hated the feel!

Also, still continued to not like Yosemite.

Glad I'm staying put :D

My early 2015 13" rMBP will be arriving tomorrow -- an early birthday gift to myself! I'm getting the 3.1 GHz i7, 16 GB RAM, 512 SSD flash storage. I have had and dearly love the 13.3" rMBP (late 2013), but really need more space than the 256 SSD has been able to give me. Am I excited much?! LOL!

Nice choice on specs, that's what I have as well :)

Sounds like you went to the store wanting to hate it to like what you already have more.

I suppose, as expected, Yosemite on new hardware is no more thrilling to me than Yosemite on last year's hardware.

Though, I went into Force Click with an open mind having never used it before and found it mushy and inappreciable.

YMMV.

Thanks! I was more interested in the 512 GB and the 16 GB than I was the i5 vs i7 differences, but things just worked out that I'm going with the i7 and I know I will not regret it at all.

Congrats! I have the same configuration set to arrive from China on April 1st.

Does anyone have ideas for doing a performance side by side comparison with my Late 2013 rMBP 8/256/i5 base unit? I have the photoshop suite, Parallels running Windows 8.1 (Which has not been running well but I think it was more Parallels 10 sucks than my current computer.

Yay! Only took 12 days...

So has it arrived?

These are the same specs in mine - ordered it this morning and it'll be here Tuesday.

Does anyone know how accurate the UPS delivery windows are? I don't want to miss the delivery.

My new rMBP arrived this afternoon! :) B&H really did a terrifc job of packing and although the exterior shipping box had a nasty dent in it, nothing inside was affected at all, thanks to plenty of bubble wrap and extra boxes containing the actual rMBP box!

I had the email notification from UPS that the package would arrive between 12:30 - 4:30 this afternoon and that someone would need to sign for it. The UPS guy knocked on the door a little after 3:00 PM.

I unboxed my new baby, plugged her in to charge her up fully, and then had to go out for a while so I haven't yet actually sat down to begin setting her up. That will be this evening's and tomorrow's project!

Did you get expedited shipping? I am waiting on the same build ordered this past Sunday, its not due until April 1st. I took ship to store though as I cant be home for a pick up.

I'm just curious what your usage is. I'm looking to get a 256 SSD (actually the same as your 13' but mine will be a Mid 2014 model). Although I've been told it will be fine but just wondering why you felt you needed the next size up.

I got the 512 gb as well because it was only $200 more and I didn't want the hassle of worrying about storage space for as long as possible. I would have gotten the 1TB but at $500 more I couldn't justify that spend.

I ordered from B&H - they have them in stock and ship out of NY (and if you live outside of NY there's no sales tax). They are also doing free expedited shipping.

Typing on my new rMBP now! She's GORGEOUS! Fast little thing, too! :) Still getting things set up and tweaked -- it usually takes a while!

I ordered from B&H and paid extra for faster shipping because I will be out of town a few days and wanted to be sure that I got the machine before leaving; with Apple I would have had a delay and uncertainty; since B&H had the configuration I wanted I went with them.

Because I have a large iTunes library and because I also do photography I wanted the larger SSD this time around, in order to not have to worry about storage capacity. With my late 2013 13.3" rMBP I thought I'd have plenty of space with the 256 GB SSD and soon found that this wasn't quite the case..... I do have external drives, of course, and can dump stuff off on them as well when need be. While the 1 TB SSD was really tempting, that would have been stretching the budget a wee bit too much. I think the 500 GB SSD will suit my needs very well.

So far, so good, no issues with this new machine and she's just beautiful!

I too upgraded to the exact same one you did FROM the same one you did. (Late 2013 13') I bought it at the apple store. I was surprised to see they had it in stock. I find that i like it more and more with each use. At first it seemed like it was almost too similar to afford the change but as time has went on things are getting better and better with each use.

First Mac product

After years of sitting in the fence, I finaly decided to switch from windows based machines to a MacBook pro.

I must say it is simply the best machine i have had the pleasure of owning.

That is interesting your local Apple store had this particular configuration in stock, as mine didn't (although I will admit I didn't actually call and check with them, just did a quickie search on the website).

I hear you on the "too similar" thing.....had to work my way through a lot of thinking and planning and looking ahead to the future to actually justify this particular purchase. So far I am delighted, although of course I haven't really put her through all of her paces yet and haven't even finished setting up everything. Right now, anyway, she's a gem and performing to expectation and beyond!
