Little test:

SSD 1T is Samsung, and test Gamut of display

Have you been able to find out what model your screen is? I have the dGPU 2015 model and all I get from the terminal command is "Color LCD".

Looking in the ColorSync profile, the manufacturer is "00000610" which I believe is Samsung as that's what is shown in my 2012 rMBP which has a Samsung display. The model is "0000A02E" which is different from my 2012 Samsung Retina.

EDIT: The usual terminal command for finding your screen manufacturer is: ioreg -lw0 | grep "EDID" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

Not too shabby, ordered 5/21 and it arrived yesterday 5/28 about noon. :) Luckily didn't hit any snags in the shipping as it went from CN-AK-KY-CT-Bos. Quite a nice computer, though I may need to get a mouse. Cannot decide if it's me simply not used to a laptop or if 17" makes it awkward use.

thanks, any idea as to why the write speed is only around 7/800?

What are you running - the Blackmagic app? I get a huge amount of variability with that, although your results are lower than I would have expected even so. Is anything else running in the background? You might check Activity Monitor to see what else the machine is doing. Close your apps, reboot and make sure nothing like a DropBox or other cloud sync is going on, and rerun it?

Thanks, will do

I never understood the display tests like your own. Is that good or how is that to be interpreted? Thanks in advance

You get to see the ability of the screen to display colors. The SRGB is the basic and luckily it's good. For against adobe profile that is much wider in the spectrum it is not good.
It is usually used for pro photographers because pictures are made of adobe profile.

Just ordered mid-2015 rMBP 2.5 dGPU base config

Today I just placed an order for the new mid-2015 rMBP. Got the base config with dGPU, which will be more than enough for my needs. With education discount I managed to save £300 off the £2000 price tag :). The main reason for upgrading is the retina display as my eyes hurt when I use my mid-2012 antiglare screen (due to Yosemite's thin fonts...). The improved battery life and the new trackpad are nice additions too. Also wanted to get this model as it is a stable design and most likely with Skylake we will see a new form factor.

Having read all the reviews on the new 15" and seeing some real world feedback I ordered this morning, delivery tomorrow. 15" 2.5/16/512

Will be a huge step from my Mid 2009 13" MBP Core 2 Duo.

Recently traded in my mid 2012 non-retina 13" mbp for the 15" w/ force touch! Ended up getting $700 off so that was pretty awesome :)

$700 is a good deal! Where were you able to get that? I have an early 2013 13" rMBP I'm trying to decide how to deal with.

Thanks in advance.

I work at a Simply Mac and we do trade ins! We had a deal for $100 added to any trade-in price for a computer, then I used my education discount on the new MBP. So I got $540+$100 for the trade-in, then the additional $100 off for a total of $740 :)

Good to know. Thanks!

I ordered a 15" MBP with dCPU this morning. Paid the $15 extra for expedited shipping. Is there any chance it comes a day sooner than they predict? The estimate given was "Delivers: Mon Jun 8 by 2-3 Business Days", but the order status is already showing as "Preparing for Shipment"

Over here super excited! Just placed an order for the first Mac product, 2.7/8/256. That will be perfect for what I do on a daily basis. I was hesitant on dropping that money on a laptop since I barely use the one I have now but I think the main reason I don't use a laptop and do everything on my iPhone is because I do not have a reliable laptop! I will be coming from a Toshiba Satellite that was purchased back in 2011 that has slowed down to a creep that I cant stand to be on. Will post impressions when I get pick it up later and set it up.

Sold my 2011 21.5" iMac yesterday and I sold my iPad Air 2 last week.

A few minutes ago I ordered my first MacBook!

I went for the 15 inch MacBook Pro, 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD.

I'll be getting it tomorrow morning.
CANT WAIT!!!
