I just bought the Mid-2015 15" rMBP with the AMD gpu. I'm a new mac user and not impressed thus day. The fan spins and sounds like a vacuum cleaner once I plug in an external monitor via the HDMI output. Is it supposed to work like that? Surely the extra monitor wont put such a load on the CPU/GPU.

Well... I just sold my late 2013 rMBP 15" 2.3ghz/16gb/1TB for $2050 on eBay. Then turned around and bought the 2015 rMBP 15" 2.5ghz/16g/512gb for $2300 from eBay also. :) It should be here Saturday.

I ordered the high end 15" 2015 rMBP with upgraded processor, it got shipped yesterday but seems to be having problems en-route to the UK, hopefully it won't be too delayed.

Wow, top o' the line, nice! I ordered the same, but couldn't justify the extra $200 for the 2.8GHz ... 2.5 will do fine for my needs. Oh, and received it yesterday, sweet!
Very nice config! I picked one of the 2.8s up at the apple store about a week ago and its perfect

Just in case they don't announce anything new for MBP that is set to launch early next year lol.

I upgraded to the 2015 15" a week ago and have till just after the WWDC to decide if i want to keep it. I don't forsee anything special coming out of the conference that would change my mind on the 15" but you never know i guess.

Just ordered this for £1699 (higher education discount) as well as 3 years of AppleCare. I will be keeping this until the redesigned MacBook Pro (possibly next year). Very excited! Will be replacing a late 2012 iMac.

Very nice.. However how much are you paying for AppleCare with higher education discount? I remember back in the day these use to be £50 or something but when i go to their Education page it comes up as £195.60 for AppleCare :/

As part of higher education, it's free of charge. I used this on my previous Mac as well.

Best buy just upped their Apple student discount from $50 to $100.

If I purchased my macbook a few days ago using the $50 coupon can I bring in my receipt and get the $100 off instead?

Three years service and one year of phone support is included with a higher education discount. If you want a full three years of phone support then you have to pay an additional £50. I bought my 2015 13" in my signature using the higher education discount but didn't bother paying the additional £50 for the extra two years of phone support. What's important to me is the three years of service coverage.

Finally made the jump from my 2010 13" MBP, forced hand really after my toddler had an accident *on* it a while back.. it became unusable. My kids have been on at me to make them a couple iPad games, so I ordered a 15" 2.8/dGPU - arrived today, have been on it since I've been back from work. Forgot the WWDC was on today, so it was cool to see it streaming in Safari (I hadn't updated my 2010 MBP for a while). Bit of a jump, it's very quick.

It's my 3rd Mac, since 2002 (PB G4 -> 2010 -> 2015) - previous to that I was going through a laptop a year, pretty much!

So I bought the 2015 13" rMBP last week and it was kicking fine and I loved it! I had the mid tier which was 8GB RAM and 256GB PCI storage. Decided to return it and go with the big boy and get the 15" 16GB RAM and 512GB. Setting everything up now. Decided to go with this so I won't have to worry about getting a computer anytime soon!
