Well, I pulled the trigger and got a refurb 2015 Macbook Pro 13 with i7, 512 Gb drive, and 16 gigs of RAM. It's replacing a two year old 11 inch Air with an i7 and 512 Gb drive. I just found the 11 inch drive to be too constraining. The display was too small and the thing that bugged me about it the most was the aspect ratio. I know the aspect ratio doesn't bother some people, but it didn't work for me. I also love the fact that I can run the Macbook Pro at different resolutions.

So, so far, so good. As a supplemental machine to my iMac, I think it will work much better for me than the Air. Note that I said "for me." :)

Picking up my 2014 refurb MBP 13 in. today. Set out to get MacBook Air initially, but when the 2015 refresh didn't go retina or start with 8 GB of RAM, it was a non-starter. Plus using them in the store the size difference is minimal.

The refurb was i5 with 256 GB SSD, and only $1149 which seemed really cheap given the 1499 tag on a similarly specc'ed new model.

Sold my Dell XPS and got a new 13.3" MacBook Pro, could not be happier :D
I was going to wait for skylake but needed it now, it's my first Mac ever... It's like my baby now lol
Yeah gave up waiting, by the time skylake is out I would probably be waiting for cannon lake, at that point I would be killing myself over using an old computer for school.

Lol exactly. Waiting for the latest and greatest and can drive you crazy. I can't get over how much I love this. This is how I should have felt after buying the dell (pretty much the same price as the rMBP I got). But now I'm wondering if I should have waited for the back to school promo lol

Hey guys,

Recently ordered a 13" MBPr with upgraded SSD and processor. What is the current processing time like for BTO MBPs?

Estimate was 1-3 days but Apple consultant said up to 14 business days.

Just ordered a refurb 2015 13" Macbook Pro with 2.9ghz i5/16GB RAM/512GB SSD for $1699+tax. Should be here Thursday.

Hoping to scale down and have this handle my occasional video editing or I might park my 15" 2013 rMBP as a desktop now.

Ordered my first MacBook Pro (well, my first Apple computer) last week along with the AppleCare HE contract. I should have read carefully whether I actually needed it but it's nice to have it. They sent me a booklet.

I ordered the 13" 2.9GHz model with upgraded memory which meant a long wait while they made it and shipped it from China. It arrives tomorrow. I am incredibly excited.

Was looking at the mid 2015 rMBP 13, was talked into the base 2015 rMBP 15 for $1609 pre-tax at Best Buy. Got to love days when all the savings stack up at once.

I bought and received a refurbed Mac, a 2015 13" MacBook Pro with 256GB SSD for $1269. This is the first time I have bought a refurbed Mac. Looked it over very closely and it looks brand new.

Picked up a 13" rMBP to replace my 11" MBA. Only thing I'm missing from the MBA is how light it was. Force Touch trackpad feels a little strange but have no problems adjusting to it. I like that i can click anywhere and it feels uniform across the entire track pad.

Just ordered the high end stock configuration 13" Retina for me ($1665 through MacMall)! Also grabbed a 13" Air for the wife for $899 through B&H. Excited to replace our shared 2011 iMac!

I just got my 15" base MacBook Pro from the Best Buy Black Friday in July sale... coupled that with my $100 student discount coupon. Couldn't beat it. Pumped to be back on the dark side.

The time has come to replace my 2009 MBP 15''. Been a great machine and was highly upgradable and I enjoyed maxing it out. Unfortunately the screen shattered and the second hard drive was on its last leg.

Got a hell of a deal on a Mid 2014 macbook pro 15'' 2.5 i7 with 512ssd from bh photo and video for 1999. I am missing force touch but I learned in college to not chase the latest and greatest it is just not worth the extra cash in the end(fu Becky Hall.)

Have to say the biggest change for me is the retina display...it is amazing! Having a quad core processor with a web browser that can use all the cores is pretty stellar too. The ssd also makes a huge difference in terms of speed! Waiting 5 years or so for an upgrade you really notice the performance jump. The bummer for me is coming from a 1tb hard drive. Why does apple keep making macs so expensive and now totally not upgradable??? The base 15" pro with 256ssd is not realistic at all. I only had 480gb of usable space on boot up on this machine..where did the other 30gb go??? Flash memory is expensive but you can now get 1tb flash hard drive for 350. I should not have to pay a 700 dollar premium for more storage.

I have had to order 3 BTO's recently and they take about 2 days to ship then roughly a week for delivery once shipped n

Just ordered 2015 15" rmbp, 2.8 ghz 512 gig hd. Also got a coupon for a free pair of beats solo headphones. Super excited!

So, after almost two weeks with the 13 inch i7 512 16gb Macbook Pro, I can say I'm very happy with it (other than the price). :) For my needs, it's much better than the 11" Macbook Air it replaces. It's speedier, yes, but the biggest improvement is the screen! To me, that makes all the difference! You mileage may vary, of course!

Wow, just got my rMBP 13" and got it set up so far. Man, i really thought Apple pulled a fast one on me and gave me a machine without ForceTouch. Here I am thinking I would "feel" actual vibration in the keypad but nope, just the false clicking. Thats some pretty cool tech I must say

Why does "about this mac" say i have a 3.1GHz i7..... I know turbo boost but why doesn't it still say 3.1GHz i5??
