Does anyone know yet if the SSD on these new MacBook pros are replaceable with larger sizes? I would love 1TB, but I cannot afford it and would love to upgrade it eventually. I think it was possible to do on the rMBP 15.

Hahahahahahaha. No, SSD's are notoriously difficult to swap out. I believe each year, Apple changes the design of the SSD's so you can only exchange one SSD for another from only MacBook Pro's in that year.

For all of you who just ordered the touchbar MacBook....this is what you're gonna see a lot of in 2 years:

Just went ahead and ordered a 2015 refurb macbook pro.

Was really on the fence between having the latest and greatest in terms of the TouchBar as well as new design. But I really couldn't justify spending about $1000CAD on the difference. In total the refurb was a touch under $3000 (without apple care yet) compared to the $4100 I would have spent getting the new 2016.

Specs are:
2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz) with 6MB shared L3 cache
15.4-inch (diagonal) Retina display; 2880x1800 resolution at 220 pixels per inch
16GB of 1600MHz DDR3L onboard memory
512GB PCIe-based flash storage 1
720p FaceTime HD Camera
Intel Iris Pro Graphics and AMD Radeon R9 M370X

I'll mostly be using this for web development and ios/android on the side. Also do some work with Lightroom and Photoshop.

Did I make the right decision??

only major downside imo is GPU, so if your work doesnt require a more capable gpu, nice buy man.

Hey guys I have a 2009 iMac and i'm in need of an upgrade. I wasn't too happy with the latest updates yesterday. I love all my ports.

I came across a used late 2013 13in Macbook Pro Retina 2.4ghz i5, intel irs 1536, 16gb ram and 256gb ssd. the cycle count on the power information says "12" from the pics. He stated he has used it about 15 times max. Theres plenty of pics and he is local. I can view it and have the serial checked. He wants $850 and wont come down on the price. I even offered $800. I'm trying to compare prices on other for sale items as well as ebay and nothing is close, not even the refurb store.

Is this a good deal for what is currently a 3 year old macbook? Obviously i can probably turn around and dump my 09 iMac for 300-400 possibly. I was looking to add dual 23in monitors as well making the laptop a desktop. I dont want another imac and it seems as if the mac mini is going to be gone from the lineup

My gf didnt allow me to buy the new MBP. So I'm picking up the 2015 MBP tomorrow, and take her out for dinner from the money I saved. I hope the dinner is worth it.

How much worse is the base 13" 2015 model compared to the base 2016 model? Please make me feel good.

You got to go out to dinner with your GF, is that not satisfying enough!?

No, this forum has hypnotised me. The MacBook virus got me. My mind is like going out for dinner with my MacBook.

Ok, I exaggerate a bit. I dont want to bore you with stories about my girl and I. I'm just wondering if I did a good purchase with the 2015 base model. But I have to say, I'm happy to see there are still people down to earth these days.

Just ordered mine, first mac. I don't have a problem with windows at all but I don't see myself leaving iPhone anytime soon after 10 years almost. That combined with the fact I have tried almost all the top windows laptops out there and their track pads are not 1/10 as good as the MacBooks I have been playing around with in store for the last 4 years debating whether or not to get one lol.

Will still use my windows desktop a lot but this will be just for some work projects for me and for my kids and wife to use for basic stuff.

15-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray

$2,609.00
• 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz
• 16GB 2133MHz memory
• 512GB PCIe-based SSD
• Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory
• Backlit Keyboard (English) & User's Guide
• Four Thunderbolt 3 ports
• Touch Bar and Touch ID

If you bought it, stick with it. Me, I'm on a new design cycle. Every ~4 years Apple drops a new MBP design, I buy. That's a money losing proposition, but I'm ok with it. The smarter (but patient bet) is to buy the last rev when a new design drops. The previous rev will be close to identical in performance and all relevant software makers keep that rev in mind when making software releases. It's more money in your pocket and you can drop that on your GF to keep her happy too. Best of both worlds, tech and social.

That price doesn't make sense. Just configure one the same way for $2,799 US. No taxes. No AC+.

Education discount. Choose the $2249 model, add 512ssd and upgrade the GPU. Better config than the $2599 model listed without any modifications with student pricing lol.

No sales tax in NH, or income tax ;)

You miss the 2.7 GHz proc for about $80 bucks, not sure its worth it but, thats not available on the 2.6 model.

I'm running the same computer now... I love it, i really wanted the new one, but can't justify it yet.

Just had a very cold shower. Scrubbed myself with a wire brush and Lysol.

[bought the new MBP]

I'm beginning to hate Apple.
