probably i may buy this same config..

After much deliberation, I've decided to finally join these forums and order one of these (with an education discount). While I am disappointed about the 16gb of ram, the graphics card and the price, my 2013 15 retina's battery is on its last legs so it's a good excuse to buy one of these I suppose :D

15-inch MacBook Pro - Silver

A$ 4,674.00
With the following configuration:
• 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
• 16GB 2133MHz memory
• 1TB PCIe-based SSD
• Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory
• Backlit Keyboard (English) & User’s Guide
• Four Thunderbolt 3 ports
• Touch Bar and Touch ID
• Force Touch trackpad

Yeah, probably. I've purchased all of my macs in the past as a student, and they have never asked for any sort of confirmation. I assume that Apple has the same policy across the globe, but I can only confirm from my experience in Australia. At 10%, it can be quite a significant discount!

Yeah, I was surprised they asked for no verification.

Ordered a 15 inch all maxed out except for storage, 1tb is plenty for me.

Ordered some adapters too and I'm about to order another charger and yet more adapters.

I'm going to be carrying around a lot if adapters...

I spent the entire day and night after the Macbook Pro announcement racking my brain on what to do. I watched videos, read articles, and decided to pull the trigger on a refurbished 2015 13 inch Macbook Pro i5 2.9ghz, 8GB Ram, and 512GB SSD for $1,539 with tax from Apple.com. I'll receive it tomorrow :D. As much as I liked the 13 inch MBP with Touch Bar, I couldn't justify the price tag of $1800. Even if it's different intel chips, I got similar processing speed and even more storage for over $300 less with my selection.

I'm upgrading from a 2009 Macbook @_@. Looking forward to the faster speeds, retina display, force touch track pad, SD card slot, HDMI port, 2 Thunderbolt 2 ports, and everything else i've been missing out on all these years. I plan to use this for work and it'll be more than enough. For person i'm gonna use it for Final Cut, Photoshop, and some light gaming. I'm thinking this will last me a good 4 to 6 years.

I ordered this as soon as the Apple Store rebooted:

MBP15G

15-inch MacBook Pro - Space Grey

£3,149.00
With the following configuration:
• 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
• 16GB 2133MHz memory
• 1TB PCIe-based SSD
• Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory
• Backlit Keyboard (British) & User’s Guide (English)
• Four Thunderbolt 3 ports
• Touch Bar and Touch ID
• Force Touch trackpad
• Accessory Kit

It's expensive. More than I anticipated, but I'm replacing a mid 2011 rMBP. (which, by the way still works amazingly well!)

Plus this:

MJ1M2

USB-C to USB Adapter @ £19.00

Nice. Out of curiosity what time was your order confirmation email? Just trying to work out how early/late I ordered by comparison. :)

8.05pm. I think I was delayed by reading all the financing options etc...
Haha ok - the store was up on the iOS app but had to order via the web and the store kept crashing. Email timed at 7:33pm though which is pretty good I suppose! :p

Annoyed - I ordered when the shipping was 2-3 weeks. Financing took hours to actually apply the funds to the order and it slipped to 3-4 in the meantime :( lol

Thinking of getting the same config (with education pricing) or paying that little extra for 2.7 i7 & 512GB SSD.

I ordered a 15" 512 16g RAM radeon pro 455 (standard config)
3199€ in France, ouch ...

But I think I will cancel that order and get a 13" 16g RAM 512 instead.

Mainly for size and weight aspects (plus I will use it 80% of the time closed with a desktop 4K display), and looks !
I think the 13 looks much better in terms of proportions, especially for the keyboard.

And not being a gamer, seems to me the graphic capability of the 13 will be sufficient for me.

Will go have a look in a store before I make the final decision.

Called the Opera one in Paris, they won't have them before next Monday, same in other places ?

I ordered a Refurbished 13" i7 3.1Ghz w/16G Ram and 256G SSD for $1600.

I couldn't care less about a touch bar I wouldn't even see in clamshell mode. Way too expensive to get an equivalently fast processor on the new model not to mention that the old model at least has all the ports I want/need without 100 dongles, MAGSAFE!!!, and a keyboard that doesn't make me want to rip my hair out.
