Nice I'll have to check it out
Just received my 2017 15" 2TB/2.9GHz/ Space grey machine yesterday upgrading from my mid 2010 15" non-retina MBP
Restored via time machine in no time and I love this new machine
So much quicker than my previous (obviously) and having been following the news on the new machine since their release in October, I'm pleasantly surprised at the keyboard - no issues here. Very easy to adapt to and I quick like the reduced travel. I also think the noise is less than my old machine. I can't say whether this is very different to the 2016 machine or not.
The retina screen is fantastic compared to the non-retina and everything is just great. Well worth waiting for.
Hope the rest of you waiting enjoy this machine - its awesome!
If you have ever been unlucky enough to drop your iPhone or iPad onto the pavement or any hard surface in Norwich, in most cases, it is quite possible that it has suffered a cracked screen, or even worse, had the screen break. You now need a iPhone repair.

What a weird place to post that, in a Macbook Pro section....
that guy just joined forums and i assume he joined for the same purpose!
True but still, you'd think he would spam in the iPhone section of the forum, not in the MBP section. Seems so random![]()
So far the touch bar is nice but not too useful yet. I have mainly used for adjusting brightness, volumes etc. What do you think of the Touch Bar? And how much better is the retina compared to none retina? I have a 2011 that I've been thinking about upgrading from for a while.
Purchased a 13" MacBook Pro Early 2015 8GB w/ 128GB SSD brand new from a local reseller. I will be using it for study, emails and watching youtube / Netflix. I didn't go for the newer MacBook Pro 13" as they are known to have issues with the butterfly keyboard and I don't want to have a million dongles.
I am feeling a bit worried that my model will be unusable / slow in the next 3-4 years just because it's 2 years old already. I know that this is definitely not the case but I am just looking for some reassurance.
Because I live in New Zealand I have about 3-4 years of Consumer Law coverage on the machine which entitles me to either a repair, replacement or refund should I have issues with it during that time-frame.
Tomorrow I've had the machine for two weeks. I am really enjoying using it so far (along with my iPhone 7 Plus) and I am having no issues with performance. I've already bought a "Nifty MiniDrive" for it so I can insert my 64GB microSD card in it for extra storage (I didn't buy a higher specced storage model as I mostly use iCloud or my main windows machine.)
Please let me know your thoughts.
I'm impressed that you were able to sell the beats on eBay for $250 - what color did you go with to get that maximum resell value?Ordered 13" ntb base model in space grey, will arrive tomorrow. Sold the beats on eBay for $250, so with education pricing excluding tax the price was only $1000. Couldn't say no to that!
Coming from a 2011 13 MacBook Air.... So yes, pretty excited.
I tried the MacBook 2017 and liked it well enough, but I hear the keyboard on the pro has a slight jiggly factor, or lateral wobble to the keys. I love hoping for that. Anyone know if it's the case??
I think I got lucky. I chose Ultra Violet, assuming probably a girl would really like them. Then I copied the gold beats information, which had 83 5 star reviews. Then I changed the picture to Ultra Violet. All the other Ultra Violet listing had no star reviews yet. Wrote a description "Yes! These are the ultra rare Violet beats you are looking for, limited production run in the United States only." Or some other such statement. Even though the UPC code went with Gold, I figure.. who would ever notice that? I put them up before I even received them, because I knew the market would be flooded quickly. But I would from experience suggest ultra violet, due to its novelty, for maximum resale.I'm impressed that you were able to sell the beats on eBay for $250 - what color did you go with to get that maximum resell value?

By the way, I am typing on my new computer, and I have an answer to my question above. The keyboard is, in fact, better than the new 2017 MacBook computer. The keys have jiggliness! It is slight, but it makes a huge difference feeling the key move around a little, gives the impression of being on a normal size keyboard. This was all I was hoping for, as I found the MacBook keyboard to be slightly flat and clackity. This keyboard seems to sound better, and feel a lot closer to a traditional keyboard overall. Yay!
The new computer is cool. Space Grey, Non Touch Bar. Good value, expecting a 5 year run out of it, barring any weirdness. Love the color gamut on the screen, I notice the MacBook did not have it quite so wide. Another "trick of the trade" if you will, after 14 days, say you wish to return your computer. You are then giving another 14+ days to decide if anything is wrong with it. If you do not care to return your computer at the end of that period, simply do nothing. This effectively turns the 14 day window into slightly over a month. I have tried this many times successfully. This time, I will plan on keeping the computer, as I just shipped off the Beats, and I'm sure Apple would want them back![]()

One final note. eBay takes a sizable chunk! In my case, $41.10, plus the cost of shipping (always offer FREE shipping), so about $50. Whew.
