I just ordered a 15" space grey MacBook Pro 3.1Ghz, 16Gb and 1TB SSD. Should be arriving next week along with my OWC 13-port Thunderbolt 3 Dock, OWC 10-port USB-C Dock, and Thunderbolt to USB-C adapter. Oh, and one of those space grey Rain stands.

Anyone have any idea when we should start seeing the 2017 MacBook Pro TB's in the refurbish sections. Want to buy a 13" but not trying to pay full price.

The 2016 MacBook Pros didn't show up on the Refurbished section until the 2017 Pros were out, so maybe another year when the 2018 will be out.

After returning the a 2016 MBP 15 in December within the 4 week return window (some bugs) I have now taken possession of a new 2017/MBP/15/3.1/1T model in silver - happened to be available right in the Store. It sucks to set all up again - I do a clean set-up and just transfer what is needed from my Late 2008 MacBook - but these are 2 hr

I am mazed again how much more performance 9 years bring... :)

I picked up a 2017 15' 2.9 GHZ 500GB version yesterday at a local Apple Store. I'm upgrading from an early 2011 15' 2.0GHZ Quad Core i7. WOW this has been quite the upgrade. Its so much smaller and lighter. I would guess half the weight and almost half the size. Zero issues with the huge trackpad even with tap enabled and I love the new keyboard. The touchbar is no big deal but haven't had much time with it yet but the fingerprint scan is convenient. The display is not a lot brighter than the 2011 MBP but the retina is so nice. This is my fifth Apple Laptop first was a Powerbook G3, then a PowerBook G4 Titanium, 2006 PowerBook G4 Intel, 2011 Unibody MacBook Pro, and now the 2017 MacBook Pro TouchBar.

Thanks, I figured China. I wonder how long it takes from china to NY with free shipping.....I think it will ship today or tomorrow anyway.

I'm fairly certain when Apple says shipping and delivery within 2-3 days of purchase it means it's coming from one of several massive central depots state-side and not crossing an ocean especially for you. Unless that is, you were unlucky to have purchased while the depot is low on stocks (first couple of months of a product launch).

I guess I will find out soon. Just noticed it changed to “preparing for shipment”.

I live in Hong Kong so this could explain how we have next day shipping on most electronic items. I think you could literally hit one of the factories with a golf ball from this side of the border...

They offered 2-3 business days to NY for only $14 extra. The logistics it must take to pull that off with the volume of stuff coming out of Foxconn is impressive.

I think that had a lot to do with no one buying the 2016.
Previously it has been much faster.

For a few months, I've been wanting a 12in MacBook for traveling because my 2012 MacBook Pro is not fun to carry on a plane. I also really wanted the rose gold MacBook...but after more thought, it made the most sense to replace my work machine with a much faster one. The case was starting to look old and the battery was on its way out.

I ordered the 15in MacBook Pro / 3.1GHz / 560 / 16GB RAM / 512GB / Space Grey

This hard drive will be double my current MacBook size and I tend to always transfer video and PSD files to a portable harddrive. I picked up a Satechi adapter and Seagate Slim 1TB from Amazon. The plan is to partition the hard drive so I can use half for storage and half for time machine. I also have Backblaze for backups and usually keep all my active project files in Dropbox. I should be set :)

My MacBook Pro is stuck in Louisville since Friday morning and hasn't moved.....

Hoping to get it by tomorrow but maybe Wednesday.

Very similar to my upgrade. I am using a 2011 MBP 2.3 GHz and my new MBP is a 2.9 GHz with 1 TB SSD. I can't believe the difference in thickness between the two in that photo, thanks for posting it.

I ordered my MacBook Pro 15" 3.1GHz/1TB on July 20th and its already "Shipping to Store". I am so excited! It sounds like a weird "number one feature" that I am excited for, but I am super stoked for the new keyboard. I have gone to the Apple Store about 6 times to try out the keyboard and I am in love. My current MacBook Pro keyboard feels super loose and small comparatively. Hopefully my arrival date will be moved up again!

My Mum's 5 year old MacBook Air needed an upgrade. She is a light user. I was able to pick her up a brand new 2017 base 13" MacBook Pro from Best Buy for $1050 + tax. Fantastic deal! Looking forward to setting it up for her.

I got amazingly lucky and qualified for the 2012 battery replacement program. I walked in with a mid 2012 MBPr and walked out with the 3.9ghz 512GB 2017 MBPr for $600. Had to pay $200 for the battery replacement fee, and $400 to cover the difference between these specs and the base model.
