"I just ordered / bought / canceled / got my new/refurb MBP" :)

Got a little spooked by the recent threads regarding heat compared to last year's model (which I have for work - 2.9 GHz / 16GB). Leaning towards re-ordering with the 2.2GHz option but will see how things play out over the week.

Closing the gap on this one. Ended up reordering 2.2 / 555x / 32GB / 512GB SSD, before all the i9 madness came out. Showing july 27 - 31 estimated delivery.

I used EPP pricing, which has 13" at $242 as you mentioned and 15" at $341.

I get the same EPP discount but in the U.K :) it’s not bad to be fair. Makes the decision between the 13” and 15” more difficult tho since the gap price wise really isn’t that much.

I just received my 13” i5/16/512 from FedEx that I ordered Thursday morning. It’s here a day early!
I’m a bit wary of the throttling issues that are now being discussed but I’ll give it a whirl and I hope to hear a lot more about other people’s real world experiences in the next 14 days. I’m coming from a 2010 13” MBP so anything will seem amazing, but if I’m paying full price for the latest and greatest I want to make sure it’s all that.

I'm probably getting that with 256gb instead. Please give thoughts soon!

So it does look like deliveries are happening a week from the order confirmation date.

Silver or space grey? Struggling to tell!

Silver. Space grey is just painted (not the right term but the best I have) and my laptops get pretty scratched up. Scratches on silver don't show as much as the space grey scratches which are silver once you chip off the top layer. I wish I was careful enough to go space grey. It looks much nicer than silver

My 15" I7,16,1TB was ordered Thursday evening (Launch day) and arrived today. Amazing how UPS gets it from Alaska to NC in about 9 hrs.

I've just received my 15" 2018 (silver) with i7 2.6GHz, 512GB SSD and 560X in the mail today in Maine, though I paid extra for next day delivery and it's an off-the-shelf config so that explains the quick delivery perhaps.

So far, it's honestly been a fantastic machine - I just hope it's better than my Precision 5520 that this is replacing, which suffered from really bad thermals plus a host of other problems. I love the little touches like True Tone and the improved keyboard (this is my first Mac ever, but I've used my friends' MBP keyboards before), and macOS is running really well. It's running a little hot during syncing on OneDrive, but I know that OneDrive is a bit crap on Windows, so this is probably the same with the Mac version. I'll probably fire up Steam or something reasonably 3D-intensive later and try some games to test the Radeon out and see if there are thermal issues with the laptop. For my first Mac, this has been excellent!

Great config. Not worth the i9 it seems.

What are you using it for?
Yeah, is for cybersecurity purposes. So i need ram to use several virtual machines to recreate diferent labs. I dont need an i9 processor, for me is enough with i7 and as I've seen i dont regret about that decision. This is my first Mac :D

First post in a very long time....

Bought 15" Space Gray with i7 2.6GHz 512gb. Love it so far, obviously much better than my 2013 Macbook air... definitely needed to update on screen size, space, and ram.

I bought my base 15" with 512gb ssd on Saturday the 14th. It shipped yesterday, but it says it will not be available for pickup until July 25th. That seems like an abnormally long amount of time, I see other people getting them a day or 2 after shipment. Does anyone know why store pickup is so much slower than home delivery? I was hoping to pick it up this weekend
