Yay preparing for Dispatch! (still ays 9th August pickup) hopefully that will slip once shipped! Can not wait.... as much as I love my 2011 17 inch, its knackered and needs a break lol!

On my 13th day of waiting for mine now; I was told 1-2 weeks for a build-to-order model (TB 13" i7/16RAM/500SSD), and since I ordered from a premium reseller instead of from Apple directly I can't check how far along my order is, if it is in transit or anything. Well, so far they're not lying at least, so there's always that.

I usually prefer to favor retailers over giving all my money straight to an unfeeling corporation, but I really HATE waiting for my gadgets, so I dunno... Next time maybe I won't be so considerate. :p

Yay shipping to store! Dates changed to 7th (from 9th) shame it’s still a bit of a wait, woulda been nice to have had by end of this week...

Any chance the date can change??

Wow. All I can say is wow! I ordered my 13" MacBook Pro core i7 2.7Ghz, 16gb RAM, 256Gb, on Wednesday July 25 in the early morning hours and it arrived today! A full two days early. I have been watching it close on tracking and I never thought it would make it so soon given two of those days were over a weekend, but it did. I did pay the extra $8.00 for expedited shipping but still, pretty impressive. Thanks apple and thanks to this forum. Good luck everyone!

Placed my order on the 24th (i9 config) and it still hasn’t shipped. Estimated time was Aug 1-8 but was hoping I’d get it on the 1st. Who knows, maybe it will still happen!

Out of nowhere, my Mac just got delivered to my job. Wasn’t expecting it to get here til tomorrow. This is one benefit of living in Memphis!
FedEx Hub :)
My Mac left China yesterday, delivered early morning today :)
(I know it says Southaven MS for delivery address. Southaven is literally 10 minutes from Memphis Airport/ Fedex Hub)

My BTO 13” has just gone to “preparing for dispatch” with its original ETA of 9th - 13th August. I’m guessing the dates mean it’s coming from the Far East?

Just received my refurb 2017 nTB Space Grey. It's a base processor and 8GB of RAM but 256GB SSD. This is mostly a word processor (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Notability, etc) and internet machine. Initial impressions against my 2013 MBP are very good. The Space Grey looks really good. The keyboard is great...hopefully I don't have any issues, but it's covered through July 27th, 2022. The screen looks even more vibrant. The speakers a nice upgrade. The weight and thinness are impressive. All in all, this should be a solid computer for years of school still left, and along with my 10.5 iPad Pro, a great light weight combo.

Did you order from Adorama?

Mine has just left Shanghai with UPS, due here by the 6th which is definitely an improvement on "9th to 13th".

Initial impressions from me to hopefully tide people over while they wait for their deliveries. For comparison, I've upgraded from an early 2015 MacBook.

- Speed is very noticeably improved, whether its the SSD, CPU or a combo of the two, everything I do is snappy and smooth.
- Display is, as you'd expect, brilliant. I'm leaving true-tone enabled until I have some colour-accurate work to do.
- TouchID is speedy and super smooth to set up.

Even little things like powering on just by opening the lid I find myself appreciating.

Overall it is early days, but so far so good. Touch-wood I'm hoping to not run into any T2 issues.

Hope you all get quick deliveries and enjoy it!

Random question but anyone who has had the 13" MacBook Pro with Touch bar, is there a big enough difference to justify the i7 over the i5 processor?

From everything I've read and seen, the short answer is no - The price increase doesn't justify the performance gains.

Unless money is no object or you desperately need the 0.4GHz increase in base clock, stick with the i5. i5 likely to run cooler too.

Didn't know where to put this, so putting it here.

Got my 13" MBP on Friday and I was having a great time with it. Jump to yesterday and tried to pair my AirPods to it just because I was curious. A strange thing happened. The AirPods would connect but when I put them in my ears, they would disconnect.

They connect perfectly with my iPhone X and Windows 10 PC, but for some reason, the MBP doesn't want to maintain the connection with the AirPods.

I got in touch with Apple Support and my case got escalated to their Engineering Dept who will contact me later tonight. Bummer my AirPods aren't working with my new MBP.

Does anyone else have any similar experiences with their new MacBook Pros and the AirPods?

Are you running the Mojave Beta? Heard reports of temperamental AirPods with it. I've paired my Beats Solo 3s with no problems, could try the AirPods tonight if I get time.
