I5/16/512 10th generation
Arrived 20 May in Italy
However I hope some days before

Ordered the same one today and I’m also in Italy. Mine says between the 20th and 27th. Does yours only say 20th or does it give you a range of dates? Let’s hope we get it earlier.

Hi totom_
Initially when I purchase the estimated data was 13-20 May with express shipment
Now in the order page I see only 20 May as shipment date

Just bought the Silver Base 13" 2020 with 16GB RAM.
Should be enough until the next 16" gets released.

Have just received my refurbished Late 2016 15,4" MBP (2,9GHz, Radeon 460, 2TB disk) and man I am quite impressed so far - it's really quick (especially compared to the 2009 MBP it is replacing) and the battery is also still quite fine. Only thing that definitly was not refurbished (or in that case changed) is the keyboard, but I'll get that done soon as a couple of keys is working but kind of sticky....

Ordered the 10th gen i5/16/512 yesterday. Got the shipping notification this morning with a delivery date of 5/12 via Apple, however, UPS is showing delivery of Friday!
UPS is now saying my order of the same model will arrive tomorrow! It just left Incheon, so it may depend on how quickly it clears customs in Anchorage. Either way, it’s well in advance of Apple’s May 14-18th window.

Mine bumped up to tomorrow as well. Last update shows it departing the same place last night. Would be awesome to get them even earlier!

So I've used my refurb 16" (64GB-2TB-2.3GHz-8GB GPU) only for the last two days now. The switch away from my trusted 13" went pretty smoothly. Impressions so far:
  • I wish I hadn't been so foolish as to believe in portability. While my 13" was nice, the 16" is WAY more impressive as a machine and nearly just as portable. Aside from performance, the extra screen space allows me to just work on things, like MS Project, that were impossible on the 13".
  • I do have the 20W Radeon High Side issue, but the computer doesn't start blowing air when using an external screen + the internal at the same time. So I'm not too worried. Because I like the big 16" screen so much, I only use my external screen when I really need to anyway.
  • The computer does start blowing quite loudly when 2 cores are busy, though. For example, when installing Windows under Parallels. What is it going to give with 8 cores busy? I'll be trying that out with a benchmark now.

Nice one, loving my replacement (same spec as you) and creating VMs with 16GB 32GB RAM, because well, I can :)

Just ordered the 2019 16" 2.3GHz i9/1TB/Radeon 5500M with 4GB/16GB/1TB model.

Ordered a Space Gray i7/16GB/1TB on May 4th which is estimated for May 20-28. Looking forward to it arriving! I hope everyone here is healthy and staying safe.

This is actually the model I wanted to get, the 2.6GHz 6-Core i7/Radeon 5300M/16GB model, but with the 1TB hard drive. The extra processor speed and higher quality graphics card won't do much for me but I need that bigger HD. But the problem with this model is that it's a BTO option, which makes it harder to get in the refurb store (my usual choice of purchase). And in your case, seems it has a big lead time. Perhaps it's worth it for you to just cancel and buy what I bought?

The refurb store is pretty much out for this option, and assuming you did the edu store price, the cost comes out to $2379. For that price, you can just get the higher end model I ended up getting because it'll be that same price at either the refurb store or from a seller running a promo (like this ebay one I grabbed).

I would have preferred to get this from the refurb store because even though it's not officially new, it's pretty much new. Also there are some nice perks buying from the refurb store like 2% cash back from rakuten and the ability to have apple make your laptop trade in credit work as a refund. But I was waiting on the refurb store to get more of these in and they just weren't getting it. So I just jumped on the ebay store deal when I Found it.

At least I got original packaging now when it comes time to sell this model.

I think this is a relatively new thing. I've always been a 15" model user since the Powerbook days (although back then I think it may have been 14"?). My current main computer is a 15" mid-2014 MacBook Pro. But I do have a "go" computer which is what I take when I'm out and about which is a 13" 2015 MacBook Pro and that's much easier to handle going in and out of my car, in and out of places throughout the day. But it is more limited which is why I wouldn't keep it as my main. I don't keep any files on it, don't do any back ups on it.

Maybe that's different now 5 years later. I'll find out soon when my new 16" arrives.

It's odd that you guys get a limited list of options on the refurb store. Here in the UK we seem to get a really good and varied selection. I initially picked up the 2.4/32GB/2TB/8GB VRAM option, but then realised it was only a little bit (relatively) different to have dropped to the 2.3 and got 64GB RAM. The following day one popped up and I snagged it. Currently there are 43 different 16" models on the UK refurb store.

Yeah, that's just it, isn't it? "Well, Windows needs 16gb so this VM should have that as well!" Except the trial version of Parallels allows max 8 :p After coming from Virtualbox, Parallels is pure heaven so I'm searching my credit card for that subscription alieady.

My current main computer is a 15" mid-2014 MacBook Pro. But I do have a "go" computer which is what I take when I'm out and about which is a 13" 2015 MacBook Pro and that's much easier to handle going in and out of my car, in and out of places throughout the day. I never really managed working on two machines in parallel except if they were for different purposes entirely. So the 13" was my only machine and it served me well for 6 years doing management consulting, development in go, dabbling in AI and network sysadmin with linux VMs. Pretty amazing, with 8/256GB. I am less mobile than I used to be so I thought that was a good reason to go 'less' mobile. But the extra weight and size of the 16" is so little that the advantages far, far outweigh them.

And what's funny is that I have almost everything on two OneDrives of 1tb each. So I could actually get a second ultra-portable machine if I'd like to. ARM anyone?

Just ordered the 13” MBP 10th gen, i5 with 16GB RAM and 1TB HDD. This will be a Logic Pro X and video/photo editing machine, all light work, and AutoCAD 2D drafting.

Was tempted to get the 16” base model on the refurbished store, but then it was suddenly ’out of stock’.
Anyway, I have enjoyed the form factor of the 13” with my just sold 2019 13” MBP base model over a previously owned 2014 15” for quite some time now.

I was worried about the lack of dGPU, but given my previous MBP’s Intel Iris 645 graphics held up quite well even when plugged into a 4K monitor, I have confidence this little guy will serve me well.

I think that's a good call. Modern dGPUs are mainly used for 3D or AI. For video editing, they are sometimes used during exports, but at that moment you need to wait anyway so waiting a bit longer is not a problem if it's not your core business. While I enjoyed watching some 3D benchmarks perform well on my new 16", it was a definite option to get a machine without dGPU because it's one less component, so less chance of defects, overheating, battery emptying quickly, ...

If you like complete meltdown because the case can't cope with the heat and 30 second battery life because hardly any battery would fit next to those 16 guts, yes, very nice indeed.
I would love this.
A bigger battery, dGPU, 6 core in a 14 inch. They can make it thicker and that would more than justify its 'Pro' moniker.

When I first got my mid-2014 15" MBP in late 2014, I believe I was coming from a 15" Mid-2010 which still had the CD/DVD drives in them iirc. As a result, I was really impressed with how much lighter the non-CD/DVD drive having MBP was. Then over the years I got quite used to the mid-2014 15" size and weight so that when I started using my wife's old 15" 2015 MBP as my "go" computer last year when she replaced it, I did notice both the big plus (it felt a lot more portable due to lower size and weight) and the big minus (much smaller real estate). I'm really curious to see how the dynamics of all my feelings change once the new 16" arrives in a few days.

Ordered a 2.0Ghz/32GB/2TB Monday a few hours after it went on sale. Currently "Processing", estimated to arrive May 20th-28th. Looking forward to that new keyboard and RAM.
