I know I've owned my MBP 13" for over a month now, but I'd like to demonstrate something for those who haven't considered this as part of their new MacBook.....
My personal setup isn't the best at the moment, but I really like the potential! It's definitely a bit laggy using the magazine for a mousepad, but I'll have a new one pretty soon lol. Just have to go steal one from my parent's house. I mean buy one on Amazon. Either way, I can say that for basic lightweight uses the iPad 6 gen holds its own as an alternative display. I will eventually get an aluminum stand from Amazon, and my new iPad case just arrived, so I'll update elsewhere when things come together.
Definitely excited. I can actually have my iPad run for a good amount of time going back and forth between being an iPad and display without any wires, and have my MacBook closed up (which I don't recommend, but you get the point) all at the same time. Recrete my little setup, and you'll have a substantial home PC on a tablet experience with bluetooth stuff. My mouse is the Corsair Dark Core RGB SE (say that 5 times fast). Can either go bluetooth to save a port somewhere (not ideal, but you can still adjust the onboard DPI settings for the DPI buttons) or plug in the wireless USB-A adapter and it'll support a more/all the standard lighting effects that come with the software. Personal favorite being the lights can display a color according the CPU/RAM temperature, which means I can edit/produce video/music while keeping an eye on my temps with my mouse's LEDs. Not to mention Qi charging is supported.... and the fact that it's all wireless everything?
Just mentioning something I've not seen displayed from my little bit of poking around the forums. Quite excited to get things all together. Going to update from Catalina to the beta Big Sur today and everything I have will be on beta. Hopefully it'll run smoothly, as I can't keep Sidecar running right for very long without wires right now >.>
Anyone else doing something similar? I have this for basic junk while watching TV or just being in the living room in general. Not a bad solution for just about anywhere, I think. I'll be playing around with this when I do video editing too, as I had some latency issues with editing in the past
Edit:
here's a list of things I'm getting/received via Amazon that I'll be using to build my mobile studio setup
This is just a collection of stuff that helps me do audio/video work easier. IT'll be updated as new stuff comes/goes
